How do you multiply your own power by itself, logically? "oh, I have this amount of power in my body. I will now manifest that same amount of power to multiply the power I already have, violating the first law of thermodynamics, because the author wanted to write a stupidly overpowered character, quickly wrote himself into a corner, and now has to break fundamental laws of reality to make his characters power work and not have him die, instead of just, you know, writing a different scenario that made him cool and strong without breaking the law of conservation of energy."
I always hated characters written to be stupidly powerful for the sake of having a god tier character in the narrative. It makes the whole thing really difficult for me to enjoy when there's a walking Deus Ex Machina on the good guy side that could just violate laws of physics whenever the writer needs an out or to make someone else strong look weak. It's like the Worf effect taken to an extreme.
