@@elizabethhailesellasie1946 yes!! Good one. Such vibrant flavors in Vietnamese food and vegan options if you forgo the nuoc cham in the sauces/dressings.
It’s amazing to learn that Ethiopian cuisine has such great vegetarian options! I had no idea that Ethiopians embrace vegetarian food as well-this is completely new to me. Can’t wait to try dishes like injera paired with those bold, flavorful spices!
You must give it a shot! I love the spice levels at Habasha -- in the past I've tried a few options outside Dubai where it's been somewhat bland (maybe the spice has been dialed down for those markets) but this feels just right. It also really helps to know WHAT you're eating. As a recap: 1) Misir: red lentils (moong) -- that has two versions, one is whole with the skin on and it's mild, the other one is skinless and spicy 2) Atar: yellow split pea 3) Shiro (my fav!): made with chickpea powder And then they have different veggies. There's a spicier powder too which you can ask for on the side if you like things ultra hot - mitmita. Hope this helps and let me know if you have a chance to visit, I'd love to hear how your first time went!
💚💛❤️ Ethiopian Food is very delicious! Unique to Ethiopia. You only have to try it to know it. Due to Orthodox Christian Faith fasting, we eat vegetarian on Wednesdays and Fridays including in the fasting seasons. The rest of the days, we do eat meat, lamb, chicken and fish dishes, that are Kosher/Halal meats only, according to the Bible. Most foreigners love the taste. Just like Pizza and KFC, Ethiopian food is eaten by hand. Now, there is a serious table manners in Ethiopian Culture! First thing, handwashing is a must!! *You don't make your hand messy, while eating! Use tissues to wipe. No licking Fingers, since you are sharing food from the same Plate! Even eating alone, we don't allow sucking fingers. It is a No! No! Wipe with the tissue! *Just use a small piece of Injera to pick up any of the sauces and accompaniments to eat in a proper manner! *Not too much talking, while you are chewing/eating. It is considerd bad table manner. Not eating too big morsel of Injera and Sauces like greedy animal, but in moderation.😅 Just enjoy the meal with everyone graciously, while you eat together. "Gursha" is Ethiopians way of expressing love to their guests, by feeding you at least twice! Just accept it and say thankyou!😅 *Usually, we don't have to eat on the same Plate. *We do eat individually. But, for communal purposes traditionally, we eat together just for the sake of it! Injera is better eaten, one at a time with individual sauces to savour the flavour. Don't try to mix up everything at once. But, if you want to mix up and eat it at once, that is your choice. Enjoy! 👍😁
