    Today I talked about four things I plan to focus on during this training cycle for my marathon. Any other areas you think are important?

    Good luck Chris! I’m kinda like you ... I’ve done several Ironman races but now I’m more into becoming a better runner. Age 50 from Ohio. September 14th will be my 3rd Boston Marathon in as many years. It’s such a cool environment and race. It’s so worth the hard work. You got it!

    I much prefer this new and more frequent format. I think I enjoy watching your videos because of your structure in real life it very much resonates with me and definitely keeps me on track.

    Liking the work on points!
    I personally struggle with keeping my easy days easy too, so easy to get caught up with trying to maintain a decent pace!
    I also don't do enough recovery, its so easy to just forget about it!
    You will smash this Marathon!

    I'm wondering why you ride the rails during the "off" segments instead of walking or jogging. Is this method in the plan or a personal choice?

    • @CjayeMedia
      @CjayeMedia  4 года назад +1

      It really depends on the work out and the rest. For 30 seconds on 30 seconds off it’s hard to get the treadmill ramped up and down at the speeds I want. If I’m running a three minute on, one minute off I will ramp the treadmill up and down. When I ride the rails on the off portion it’s typically when I’m running between five and six minute mile pace.

      @@CjayeMedia Thanks for taking to the time to respond. I understand what you're saying about the paces/speed of the treadmill and safety.
      I am now wondering if you ever do these speed workouts outside. I know we are in an uncertain time at the moment, but I'm wondering about the approach to doing speed work assisted by a treadmill vs. doing it on your own outside. Is this a personal choice or part of the plan?
      Hope you and your family are well. Looking forward to future videos.
