I was on the road to T1 and just... Honestly quit the game again. This was before I started playing old gen version to avoid little bird menaces doing the same. Shame because I was having a bit of fun in the jets despite how useless I was to the outcome of a match no matter how many vehicles I destroyed.

Like bro, I just started playing 2042 again because of your videos and some other recent videos that popped up on my recommended! Used to play bf4 just as infantry and I finally got into helis in 2042, I got tier 1 in about a week actually after learning rifle aim. But yeah playing against the TOR tanks is so toxic, I usually disconnect if I die to someone in one LOL

On one hand, holy heck. I havent played newer BF games, just recall how oppressive air was in earlier titles. And seeing this was satisfying to see comeuppance. At the same, yeah. rough to play against.
The main issue is Dice can only make Nature Maps now, they are incapable of any Urban maps whatsoever. The only Infantry focused experience is Stranded which itself is a Nature Map. This benefits vehicles of all types. Gone are the days of well thought out maps and experiences and specific lanes that have room for both vehicle and infantry play. Such an exercise would require too much investment from the Shareholders at EA, so we are stuck with completely open fields that they have to go back and spend 2 years "remaking" by having a $15/hr dev intern adding sandbags and shipping containers, and selling it back to us as content.
Your squad took all armored vehicles from the team just to show that you can spawn trap a plane. Maybe it's not you who blocking the plane, but the plane is blocking your team from winning

Been playing last 2 weeks and the TOR is a nightmare to face in a normal tank let alone air vehicles. They just crossmap you with zero aim needed, do more damage and can shoot through APS. DICE has a habit of adding cheap unnecessarily easy stuff like this into games
People think it's just air vehicles getting fucked. During my brief time TORing, any vehicle in LOS was a very free kill. The fact it ignores APS is mental!
Yes the tor will out DPs any vehicle period even in mobility mode still will kill a maxed tank before tank can kill it, thats of course assuming no one misses a single shot, fortunately the average player isn't that good
im surprised this is only now being brought up, but im glad you're putting this on full display now, that thing is absolutely what killed me the most as a jet, and where most of my vehicle kills are from lmao to be honest, i genuinely dont know what they were thinking when adding this unless breaking the balance was on their mind. they could remove this tank tomorrow and i would be overjoyed! insta kill, near hitscan and zero bullet drop is just asking to become a problem xD
They could balance this out by forcing you to equip a "barrel" for anti-air or a barrel for anti-armor. You either spawn kill jets and helis but get rekt by vehicles or you use it for anti-armor and actually play the vehicle for its intended purpose.
I mean it’s not really doable since you would have to completely rework the way it shoots and add ridiculous drop taking away from the use of the tank.
Yeah but it can still just sit in spawn and just kill any vehicle that enters it's line of sight. All that would happen is they'd all choose anti air barrel since they can see where they spawn in the air before there's any chance to react but they can always see ground vehicles spawn plus they don't 1 shot tanks
@@damienmcdonald7610 You can't shoot a transport with repairs and a 50mm. They just tank your damage and get on top of you where you can't hit them. The 30mm cannon either needs more damage or a longer fire time before cool down.

Silk,thanks for bringuing a video about this,as if wasn't enough they adding so many anti vehicle counters to the game,they added this,it's really funny lol,I always fly super low with the attack heli at start of every round because of this playstyle and focus on destroying tor / AA with it before playing my own game.

Alot of people are new or just brain dead and dont care about a lil bird, jet or a fuckin transport vehicle that wipes out half of my team. Since you uploaded this video, the game is almost unplayable for pilots. Almost every game consist of Wildcat and TOR clearing skies in matter of seconds (often you can meet 2 Wildcats and 2 TORs, depending on the map). If someone argues that you need some sort of skill to shoot down helis and jets, you should try to learn how to fly from 0. combination of AA, TOR and manned rocket launchers is horrible. I seriously hope the somehow balance this in Season 5.
On the one hand, the railgun tank is definitely OP at anti-vehicle. On the other hand, though, the rage you can induce in heli-sweats with it is one of the best sensations in gaming, so I like it.
Liz and the rorsch I can live with, even the TOR with a bit of balancing and also changing aircraft spawns so they're protected or impossible to see until the pilot has control of the vehicle
As a night bird main that uses full anti vehicle build. People doing this stand zero chance and I go straight for them every time they spawn. Nobody can do this in my lobby.

I won’t lie, I really enjoy TOR gaming sometimes, because I just want to put little effort in for a big reward sometimes. Plus, it’s the only way I can fight air vehicles as a console gamer (outside of using the normal AA stuff, which people never use because they prefer to put the 40mm on it)
Honestly i dont know what was more toxic about this. The fact that air players couldnt have fun for this or the fact this strat also self sabotages your own team considering this play style is a purely selfish AA k/d style strat that adds no value to the team that needs backup taking the points.
And now imagine not one but two wildcats without damage drop off camping next to you, so flying to the tank is nearly impossible due to all the other bs
On the upside, that pretty much means all of their armor is sitting in spawn farming kills. Your team should be able to dominate the capture points and win the match.

Silk mate, I gotta say I have no pity for the jet/helicopter players in this situation. With the current state of air vehicles this is the only real viable option to take down certain flying pests. As someone who runs anti-air launchers with my infantry loadouts I can attest to the fact that the current means of AA aren’t enough to stop a sweaty pilot going 97-0. From my experience they either flare/ECM then retreat behind cover or they just outright outmanoeuvre missiles. Jets and Helicopters are a pain for both infantry and ground-vehicle players, hell in your most recent video you say that ‘it doesn’t take any effort at all to lock on and click twice’ with AGMs. I think it should say a lot when ground players are having to get creative to prevent pilots absolutely decimating infantry. If this tank has to get nerfed then there needs to be something that can destroy littlebirds relatively easily which isn’t a vehicle.

I know that the Rail tank is a pretty cool edition, But this just proves a major problem with it... There is the occasional "Sponging." Where you'd shoot a helicopter and connect, But doesn't reward you the kill, and that is a very, VERY Rare occurrence. - The TOR Tank is a Long Range Tank... But Dice thinks that their maps are made for 'long range.' I can understand the common sense that you are launching a Sabot round at extreme High velocity. But, I know for a fact that a new player that unlocks this tank is the Go-To vehicle Killer. Dice should create some Gigantic maps that Utilizes this vehicle exclusively. This vehicle should have not been allowed to be in the Roster of EVERY MAP. I might be speaking the obvious here, But I didn't mind having larger maps... For what the games worth it's being under-Utilized and the maps they create are so limiting it is almost like a sick Theme they do. "They create a Specific location and confine the Battle with a "Out-of-Bounds" Ring that is small enough that tactically it restricts vehicles. I digress... The Rail Tank is an awesome edition, But just keeping an open mind about it... I don't think it should be on every map, Including the Portal Maps (Unless enabled by the Server Creator.)
I would argue it's a creative way to use your equipment. Also nothing makes me leave a lobby faster than realizing they have some tom cruise level pilots so I don't feel bad at all watching pilots get shot down 😂

That tank truly is the dam worst!! I hate it soo much. It’s just designed to be a camping machine and I hate it. Had one doing exactly this on Spearhead and it was soo frustrating. Whoever designed this and the person who allowed it both need the boot lol
i found out about this strat on accident while spawning the tank once. started shooting down flying things for fun and then saw you can literally spawncamp the entirety of the enemy air team- fun but stupid

The problem is it’s somewhat difficult to decide what needs to change to keep it’s identity, high damage vehicle designed to fight enemy armour. so the only thing I could think to change is it’s movement speed and the charge speed of the shells while in siege mode. I personally don’t believe giving it a shell drop or reducing its velocity of the shells will fix it because that will take it identity away and make the MBTs the better option due to them being nearly identical. If I had my way of balancing this it would be to make it unmovable in siege mode and increase the speed of which charging a shot takes so maybe a solid 3 seconds or maybe 2.5 seconds could be enough to fix it. Increasing the likelihood of air vehicles surviving. But in the hands of someone who has played the tank in the nerfed form I’m speaking of a vehicle of worry.
Just give the shells a max range and explain it with some reasoning like the shells go too fast and just disintegrate past a certain range. Not realistic but nobody except milsim weirdos will care. Also add a like 10s spawn grace period to jets and helis for good measure so they can't just be sniped off spawn by these things, and have the grace period end early the second they shoot at something.
Don’t worry. DICE will wait until average players are doing it, then they’ll maybe consider doing something about it. Also, I feel like some of you are missing the point. Yes it’s annoying when a pilot is absolutely running a game. The only thing more annoying is being spawn camped by anyone, regardless of what role you’re in. Maybe the dude would run the map. Maybe they’re just trying to learn how to fly. If it’s possible to hit the spawn location of the vehicle from across the map, that breaks a fundamental feature of the game.
You dont know how many times me and my friend have been killed off by this shitty tank! there is no warning no nothing, you cant know he is aiming at you untill you are probably dead, or he misses a shot. It's complete BS, they should rework it, as it cannot be at the state that it is.
They're is a sort of warning if you're looking in their direction it has that blue light when it aims. But yeah especially if you're shot down during that cinematic bit when you spawn an air vehicle there's nothing you can do
@@damienmcdonald7610 it's not enough mate, most of the time is barely visible, you can also mistake it for a sniper glint and you are probably not gonna see it because you will be in combat, looking at other targets and not towards the distance. Don't forget getting shot in the back is also a big problem, there just isn't enough warning or info on them
basically they should just add a 10 sec spawn protection where you cant take any damage after spawning into an arial vehicle 🤷🏽♂️ I guess exclude lock on missiles from this as you always have flares

How about on the remake of Discarded? As infintry on D2, on a spawn spot that you actually spawn out of bounds and you have to run for the boundry line to survive! Unbeliveable! You just barely make it if your prepared for it...
Slowing the turret traverse speed substantially would be a good change to this tank in particular. Not even 'unrealistic' for all of the genius Redditors who think battlefield is a Mil-sim, a rail gun barrel is a row of heavy af electromagnets, you can't whip it around like a fishing rod. But even the general design of this tank is whack. Tank sniping has always been a hated, useless playstyle in battlefield, every long-term player knows it, and DICE go ahead and make them a special tool for the job.
Finally someone brings it up but can BF also increase the ceiling and area that jets can fly I swear the AA wildcat can lock on to me at almost 95% of the map for those more small maps like flashpoint and spear head I can’t go anywhere and bring in ECM chaff and extinguisher another gun caliber rocket pods JDAMs A-10 something.
no, it was last year. I stayed the whole game back at the base. my team advanced and I kept killing those who tried to defuse. then I managed to stay 110/1. we ended up losing but the guys got so mad they tried to kill me anyway. I made like 5 different guys try to kill me when they noticed. when the match ended, I received curses for 3 future generations. I laughed a lot
Considering how long air vehicles were dominating teams single handedly, im sure this seems like the only "defense" for some people. This tank does take some getting used to, lets not pretend like any joe shmoe can just jump in and delete everything. The slow during charging means you have to predict where they will be when it fires. I think it is in the same weird spot as air vehicles where if you are good at it you can change the battle single handedly. There isnt really an easy way to balance the game for the casuals AND the hardcores because there is such a skill gap. The best way if seen someone put forward is vehicles having limited ammo and needing to go back to base to rearm, including flares. This would make tank camping a lot harder and less rewarding while not necessarily making them usless. Really depends on how much ammo they can carry at one time.
Yeah they tried this in bf5 I liked it because you could then ambush players going to resupply but most players got really campy. Also you're right about the skill gap being hard to balance not everyone can go 80-0 in a nightbird like me or 100+-0 like silk but those players are never gonna get to that level being spawn killed. Yes the tank does have charge time but if you put it in siege mode it's a very short charge time, in fact less that the handheld railgun lol

@@damienmcdonald7610 You can't shoot a transport with repairs and a 50mm. They just tank your damage and get on top of you where you can't hit them. The 30mm cannon either needs more damage or a longer fire time before cool down.

Alot of people are new or just brain dead and dont care about a lil bird, jet or a fuckin transport vehicle that wipes out half of my team. I think a lot of people reference bf4 or even older bf but the community was completely different back then.

Since you uploaded this video, the game is almost unplayable for pilots. Almost every game consist of Wildcat and TOR clearing skies in matter of seconds (often you can meet 2 Wildcats and 2 TORs, depending on the map). If someone argues that you need some sort of skill to shoot down helis and jets, you should try to learn how to fly from 0. combination of AA, TOR and manned rocket launchers is horrible. I seriously hope the somehow balance this in Season 5.

That Irish aps should have a maximum amount of rockets it can stop (and not be deployable next to a vehicle).
Considering how OP transport helis are, I do not have a problem with this.

I won’t lie, I really enjoy TOR gaming sometimes, because I just want to put little effort in for a big reward sometimes. Plus, it’s the only way I can fight air vehicles as a console gamer (outside of using the normal AA stuff, which people never use because they prefer to put the 40mm on it)
Honestly i dont know what was more toxic about this. The fact that air players couldnt have fun for this or the fact this strat also self sabotages your own team considering this play style is a purely selfish AA k/d style strat that adds no value to the team that needs backup taking the points.
And now imagine not one but two wildcats without damage drop off camping next to you, so flying to the tank is nearly impossible due to all the other bs
On the upside, that pretty much means all of their armor is sitting in spawn farming kills. Your team should be able to dominate the capture points and win the match.

Silk mate, I gotta say I have no pity for the jet/helicopter players in this situation. With the current state of air vehicles this is the only real viable option to take down certain flying pests.
As someone who runs anti-air launchers with my infantry loadouts I can attest to the fact that the current means of AA aren’t enough to stop a sweaty pilot going 97-0. From my experience they either flare/ECM then retreat behind cover or they just outright outmanoeuvre missiles.
Jets and Helicopters are a pain for both infantry and ground-vehicle players, hell in your most recent video you say that ‘it doesn’t take any effort at all to lock on and click twice’ with AGMs. I think it should say a lot when ground players are having to get creative to prevent pilots absolutely decimating infantry.
If this tank has to get nerfed then there needs to be something that can destroy littlebirds relatively easily which isn’t a vehicle.
They need to fix the fact that wildcats can lock on from 10 miles away, at least in conquest 64 it’s very annoying

I know that the Rail tank is a pretty cool edition, But this just proves a major problem with it... There is the occasional "Sponging." Where you'd shoot a helicopter and connect, But doesn't reward you the kill, and that is a very, VERY Rare occurrence.
- The TOR Tank is a Long Range Tank... But Dice thinks that their maps are made for 'long range.' I can understand the common sense that you are launching a Sabot round at extreme High velocity. But, I know for a fact that a new player that unlocks this tank is the Go-To vehicle Killer.
Dice should create some Gigantic maps that Utilizes this vehicle exclusively. This vehicle should have not been allowed to be in the Roster of EVERY MAP.
I might be speaking the obvious here, But I didn't mind having larger maps... For what the games worth it's being under-Utilized and the maps they create are so limiting it is almost like a sick Theme they do. "They create a Specific location and confine the Battle with a "Out-of-Bounds" Ring that is small enough that tactically it restricts vehicles. I digress...
The Rail Tank is an awesome edition, But just keeping an open mind about it... I don't think it should be on every map, Including the Portal Maps (Unless enabled by the Server Creator.)
I would argue it's a creative way to use your equipment. Also nothing makes me leave a lobby faster than realizing they have some tom cruise level pilots so I don't feel bad at all watching pilots get shot down 😂

The problem is it’s somewhat difficult to decide what needs to change to keep it’s identity, high damage vehicle designed to fight enemy armour. so the only thing I could think to change is it’s movement speed and the charge speed of the shells while in siege mode. I personally don’t believe giving it a shell drop or reducing its velocity of the shells will fix it because that will take it identity away and make the MBTs the better option due to them being nearly identical. If I had my way of balancing this it would be to make it unmovable in siege mode and increase the speed of which charging a shot takes so maybe a solid 3 seconds or maybe 2.5 seconds could be enough to fix it. Increasing the likelihood of air vehicles surviving. But in the hands of someone who has played the tank in the nerfed form I’m speaking of a vehicle of worry.
Just give the shells a max range and explain it with some reasoning like the shells go too fast and just disintegrate past a certain range. Not realistic but nobody except milsim weirdos will care. Also add a like 10s spawn grace period to jets and helis for good measure so they can't just be sniped off spawn by these things, and have the grace period end early the second they shoot at something.
Don’t worry. DICE will wait until average players are doing it, then they’ll maybe consider doing something about it.
Also, I feel like some of you are missing the point. Yes it’s annoying when a pilot is absolutely running a game. The only thing more annoying is being spawn camped by anyone, regardless of what role you’re in. Maybe the dude would run the map. Maybe they’re just trying to learn how to fly. If it’s possible to hit the spawn location of the vehicle from across the map, that breaks a fundamental feature of the game.

They're is a sort of warning if you're looking in their direction it has that blue light when it aims. But yeah especially if you're shot down during that cinematic bit when you spawn an air vehicle there's nothing you can do
@@damienmcdonald7610 it's not enough mate, most of the time is barely visible, you can also mistake it for a sniper glint and you are probably not gonna see it because you will be in combat, looking at other targets and not towards the distance. Don't forget getting shot in the back is also a big problem, there just isn't enough warning or info on them

i mean, after all the Battlefield games they have made, one would have thought that maybe, just maybe they have learned how to improve the game play.
Slowing the turret traverse speed substantially would be a good change to this tank in particular. Not even 'unrealistic' for all of the genius Redditors who think battlefield is a Mil-sim, a rail gun barrel is a row of heavy af electromagnets, you can't whip it around like a fishing rod. But even the general design of this tank is whack. Tank sniping has always been a hated, useless playstyle in battlefield, every long-term player knows it, and DICE go ahead and make them a special tool for the job.
Finally someone brings it up but can BF also increase the ceiling and area that jets can fly I swear the AA wildcat can lock on to me at almost 95% of the map for those more small maps like flashpoint and spear head I can’t go anywhere and bring in ECM chaff and extinguisher another gun caliber rocket pods JDAMs A-10 something.

no, it was last year. I stayed the whole game back at the base. my team advanced and I kept killing those who tried to defuse. then I managed to stay 110/1. we ended up losing but the guys got so mad they tried to kill me anyway. I made like 5 different guys try to kill me when they noticed. when the match ended, I received curses for 3 future generations. I laughed a lot

Considering how long air vehicles were dominating teams single handedly, im sure this seems like the only "defense" for some people. This tank does take some getting used to, lets not pretend like any joe shmoe can just jump in and delete everything. The slow during charging means you have to predict where they will be when it fires. I think it is in the same weird spot as air vehicles where if you are good at it you can change the battle single handedly. There isnt really an easy way to balance the game for the casuals AND the hardcores because there is such a skill gap. The best way if seen someone put forward is vehicles having limited ammo and needing to go back to base to rearm, including flares. This would make tank camping a lot harder and less rewarding while not necessarily making them usless. Really depends on how much ammo they can carry at one time.
Yeah they tried this in bf5 I liked it because you could then ambush players going to resupply but most players got really campy. Also you're right about the skill gap being hard to balance not everyone can go 80-0 in a nightbird like me or 100+-0 like silk but those players are never gonna get to that level being spawn killed. Yes the tank does have charge time but if you put it in siege mode it's a very short charge time, in fact less that the handheld railgun lol
