Sunny is an excellent performer and great dancer. It's just the K-Pop industry likes to label the members of each group as main vocal, lead dancer etc - those labels are general mis-leading. If you watch a lot of groups, people like Sunny are generally standouts. Sunny demonstrates understanding of body movement in dancing; she demonstrates that less is more; she demonstrates controlled movement. Many so called "main dancers' utilise a lot of energy in their dancing ut aren't really that good. Sunny is good.

Dear New Generation of Sone... the girls feature here are the best dancers in Snsd. For those criticizing Sunny and calling her lazy this was her before the surgery that saved her career. Sunny and Seohyun were the two other members along with SHY were the go to girls for dance competitions.
Sunny was probably one of the best dancers in SNSD. She had a lot of subtle, controlled movements that made her dancing a performance. Many other dancers from K-Pop girl groups, including SNSD, are/were quite robotic, in that they are repeating choreography and not actually dancing. Sunny, on the other hand, had stage presence showing expression in her body movement and face, hitting dance lines better than most. For example, I don't know why everyone is excited about Momo from Twice...well, I can see why everyone likes her dancing because you can see her energy but her dancing can also look and feel uncontrolled. Sunny made dancing look effortless. Not all k-pop groups are the same - Super Junior do make dancing their choreography look fun. This is all subjective - get a professional dancer and put them alongside k-pop groups and you'll notice the difference immediately. For example, see 'All that Jazz' for the current production of Chicago that has been released on RUclips in recent days (just prior 22 March 2021). The ensemble in that production look amazing - so much control but so expressive.

Tried to learn Super Junior's 'Sorry Sorry' choreography during lock down last year. It requires good co-ordination and timing...but I also struggle with a little of the more freestyle type dances, I'm was low key ballroom (waltz, quickstep etc) dance competitor. Dancing is a feeling you experience, as well as an act to be performed. When you see someone dancing with control and effortlessly and with expression, one can put themself into the moment and imagine themself as the dancer. Super Junior does that for me; Sunny also does that, similarly with her singing (when given a song suiting her vocal talents).

Kinda feel envy bout them actually. During that era, they got a lot of idol interactions on-cam/off-cam, shows like this one then others like Star Golden Bell, Strong Heart, etc. Also during that era these idols were carefree as hell on what they wanna say and that includes dissing jokingly about other groups, lol. Also, live singing was a staple. In any music show that existed on that era, you'll get it.
