I'm pretty sure there are many hidden treasures there... We only scratched the surface during this fast filming session, many parts were not filmed but we went all the way from the amazing vaulted basement to the superb attic, or in the Chapel (not featured here but stunning) and in many other parts (we wanted to keep the film short enough) and it's just mindblowing to discover letters written by some of the most famous people from that period. French chateaus are to be enjoyed and lived in, and this one will find a deserving owner who will cherish it and keep it maintained for French history. Viva la France!
Magnificent home. It’s a shame you had to hurry past everything so fast. Also, we didn’t get a glance at the kitchen. It’s good to see the home as well cared for. Absolutely stunning.
Finally someone thought to bring a light along with them so we can see the interior most I've watched it's been too dark in the rooms to make out what they were showing
This is exquisite! Please don't let somebody buy this beautiful chateau and ruin it like they so often do by "modernizing" it. I don't understand why people purchase these beautiful, historical old structures and do that. Please, please, please, don't do that to this one!!!
Rest assured that the family selling this wonderful property won't let this happen as they are looking for someone with a serious project to buy it! :)
This angers me so much! This is history! I have so many words racing through my mind I don't even know what to say. This is a priceless possession. Someone's legacy.
The longer it sits the more degraded it will get. Someone will purchase it, sell the antiques for millions and then fill it with reproductions to pay for the upkeep and then probably turn it into a hotel. The government obviously doesn’t want it.
@@Lafeolamom Do you have any idea what French property taxes are like? Or the bare bones cost of running that place? We won't even discuss the millions and millions to make the place habitable. There are only 5 bathrooms now...sadly it is now a white elephant and the only way it would make sense is for a developer to turn it into apartments and even then they would probably be massively expensive and overpriced for the area.
Don't let your heart be bogged down by this. Nothing is permanent. Sure it's an historic treasure, but remember it rose on the backs of extremely oppressed people, whom the French aristocracy didn't regard as citizens, built just 3 years before the Revolution (1786?). The planet is filled with ruins and we simply can't save them all. If fate has force, then fate determines what should and will happen to this property. Get some friends and family together and find a project to save and that will be more satisfying than anything else you do.

Suis-je la seule française à regarder ce genre de vidéos de petits chefs d'œuvre ? Or the other French people write comments in English. 😉 This chateau is an absolute gem. Incredible and elegant.
I think there should be a film society to buy and restore these places so they could be shown in movies and tv shows and while not in use for shooting they could be open as museums for the public. It’s the best way to keep it as it was and to maintain itself financially.

Well worth the price, just to have a reason for routinely saying 'Gironde' (and also the magical words 'Aquitaine' and 'Dordogne' - all three being joyful words to say). And then there's the delightful 'Folie de Grandeur' dollhouse scale of the chateau, which would make it highly manageable to own.

The WALLPAPER or Painting below the Chair Railing on the 2nd Floor in the Hallway reflects its ancient age....so stunning and rare design..appears to be late 1700 to early 1800's! Many of the ceilings are peeling and have flaked off onto the floor in several of the 1st rooms, such as the 1s Blue Room there is a stripe of WALLPAPER hanging loose. Sure would like to know the last time someone spent the night!? Let's hope the furniture, paintings and accessories STAY in the Chataue FOREVER.
Impossible to take on such a project, the roof repairs alone !!! dealing with a heating system, French property taxes !! looking after the grounds alone is a fortune, then restoring the rooms, many need a lot of work so it doesnt look like a museum, only a hotel and spa complex would be interested or some mega rich zillionaire who would strip out and modernise it all ,,,,
Maybe a Prince from the UAE or Saudi Arabia's very own MBS, he just bought a Castle in France, I think it's called Little Versailles or something related to the Sun King, would like to take it on...they appreciate French architecture & art, some do anyway.
It has an established vineyard. The old joke how do you make a small fortune from a vineyard - start with a large one (fortune) has some truth in it. That should still bring in some revenue. Otherwise following the Strawbridge's example on a larger scale is the way to go. Live in it to keep it alive. Market it as a wedding and film location. Utilise some of the rooms as a boutique hotel. Winetasting/historical/artist/walking cycling equine tours come to mind. The land probably has potential for careful commercial use. Possibly a campsite away from the house. It would need money to invest in the initial work but it appears to be structurally sound. The only obvious signs of damp/decay were the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and the glass cabinet door in a corridor. Low level maintenance work. If only I could win a €100 million plus on the lotto to put the ideas into action.
Fuck your SPA complex you moron. This is a historic house and it should look like a museum, this isn't Las Vegas, we don't do that here. You want a SPA ? Go build one.

Yes, this property has been maintained over the years. What we meant by 'untouched' is that no major changes were made to the architecture and you can still find the original furniture, paintings, books, etc. 😉And the dust is there, believe us...
Look again...the large tables are very dusty just layers, they don't shine. On the Grand Staircase is white/gray stains on the steps from bird droppings sitting on the large paintings. Look at the huge painting again as he comes down the steps....the bird droppings are more noticeable at the bottom of the frame from where the birds sat. So sad! Probably a broken window for awhile before care taker noticed. Wonder WHY not cleaned and dusted before placed for sale? Did owner die and the Trustee - Executor thinks that it shows its age (unchanged 1789) better if dirty? Wish they explained when it was last lived in from day to day. Probably was a Country Home in the last 100 years.....
Love the worn colors, these people lived a very nice life. Maybe someone can make it into a beautiful bed & breakfast this pace is just magnificent thanx for sharing : - )

Absolutely delightful... but the cost to bring things like electric up to code! I suppose if one wanted to create a hotel/b&b, it would be a one-room-at-a-time project, probably starting with the kitchen!

I would only bring happiness and love back in to this wonderful family chateau... I hope there will be an additional Updates on this 💞
Oh how I'd love to see that place filled with guests, a good restaurant near the original kitchen, the vineyard in full use, beautiful garden (kitchen garden and flower garden, maybe lemons and well). Weddings and birthday parties. One proud owner
This is stunning! I am from America and we don't have too many places like this and what we did have was torn down and the same goes for the UK, a lot of their mansions and castles we blown up because they either fell into ruin or the upkeep was too much. It would take several millions of dollars to restore this on top of being not being rich but super-rich because the taxes will eat you alive on a place like this. The first thing that would need to be fixed is the foundation followed by the floors, roofing, any electrical wiring, plumbing, ceilings, and walls. You can tell the floors are in very bad shape because the squeaking comes from the natural settling and age, but the crunching sound is from dry rot/termites or both
Confused w the way YT works. Yesterday it recommended many treehouses/ tiny houses... And today recommends many big old mansion/ chateau& countryhouses😄
Tres magnifique if I won the lottery I’d buy it and spend the rest of my life exploring everything , all I’d then change was the electricity , water , then keep it maintained . This is far too beautiful and far too historical to change , it should be kept as is , for everybody to admire .
I would move the two towers away from the main building and build a semetric copy of the singular left wing building on the right and then create a huge french garden around the premises.
If I bought it, I wouldn't do anything to modernize it other than put electric in, but use low wattage, low UV lighting to preserve the color of the paint, then I would restore the original paintwork. I would put a kitchen and bsthroom, but make it a seperate wing in the center of the arch way, and connect it through a walkway. It would match the architecture of the rest of the chatue along with the roof. To further preserve the building I would install AC, and then place UV windows to further preserve the original interior.
This ought to be a museum/hotel for all the world to enjoy; packed with people art, events and music. Annual fancy dress up parties would be fun for world travelers as an destination spot; it could be a good thing for the property and the village would probably profit from the tourism with jobs. The visitors coming would also like to purchase a few cases of souvenir 🍷 wine for the pleasure of tasting. This place deserves Love, Laughter & Life! It's very sad indeed, to see it empty, full of dust, and in a sad state of neglect with the molderings of disrepair. It just needs to be treated with respect and admiration from the right entrepreneur. Places like this deserve to be a happy place for all to enjoy & preservation obviously would be a HUGE money pit. God bless the French extravaganza! Maybe a billionaire with a BIG ♥️👑♥️ will be excited seeing this plee for tender loving care, who knows? One is certain, stranger things have been known to have happened here. #justtypin

Cyril - photographer.
If I had the money I would have this open as a museum...this is absolutely stunning. Not a thing would be touched. It's such a rarity and a priceless treasure
This property actually used to be a museum, you can still see some traces of that in our video 😉
A place like this is literally my dream i hope whoever buys it doesn't change much..i wouldn't change a thing it's all a big pice of art ❤
This is truly a magnificent place and it’s great to see that it has not been vandalized and robbed.
French chateaus are to be enjoyed and lived in, and this one will find a deserving owner who will cherish it and keep it maintained for French history. Viva la France!
Hear! Hear!
vive...-la revolucion du monde...👍
Magnificent home.
It’s a shame you had to hurry past everything so fast. Also, we didn’t get a glance at the kitchen.
It’s good to see the home as well cared for. Absolutely stunning.
That was a fun tour from what he could show us. I like his enthusiasm! I'd follow him. Thank you! How about those creaking old wooden floor boards!!
Absolutely fabulous. How it survived through time is really something else.
Because it was maintained as a museum. It hasn't just been sitting abandoned.
Would love to spend a day exploring this beauty
Exploring this treasure would surely take a lifetime! So beautiful 😍
Finally someone thought to bring a light along with them so we can see the interior most I've watched it's been too dark in the rooms to make out what they were showing
YES WHAT KIND OF LIGHT WAS THAT ITEM🍀IT LIT @THE WHOLE DARKENED ROOMS🦋
Vraiment très beau ce château 🏰 merci pour la visite 🙏👍
Avec grand plaisir 😊🏰
Imagine your room at the other end and dining room at the opposite end. Then you forgot your phone in your room.
Or if you went upstairs for something, forgot it but didn't remember until you were at the bottom of the stairs😂🤣
@@LeggettImmobilierProperty Good! Thank you for your response.
I love the way the french arranged chairs in the 18th century . It sounds dull but its so elegant and beautiful!
This angers me so much!
This is history!
I have so many words racing through my mind I don't even know what to say.
This is a priceless possession. Someone's legacy.
Hopefully, whoever buys it won't change much, or anything, during restoration.
It all seems surreal!
An absolutely gorgeous home. I would love to see it, after it has been renovated. I know it will be incredible. It's going to take a lot of money to renovate it.
Suis-je la seule française à regarder ce genre de vidéos de petits chefs d'œuvre ?
Or the other French people write comments in English. 😉
This chateau is an absolute gem. Incredible and elegant.
No, not at all; i do look at us or uk vid's.
Non
Very much my style, I adore this house
And we can easily understand you :)
I think there should be a film society to buy and restore these places so they could be shown in movies and tv shows and while not in use for shooting they could be open as museums for the public. It’s the best way to keep it as it was and to maintain itself financially.
I just realized that I was reading all the comments with the same accent of the guy in the video!!! LOL
Same thing 😂😂
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
ah ah ah, it's me speaking there ( Cyril , LEGETT videographer à I did not take time to read all of your comments but this one made me laugh. Sorry guys, I'm french and I know how bad my accent is :) I hope you don't mind it too much as next year you'll probably will see me more in the videos. I'll try to select more of the extraordinary properties we have in our listings than I did before, so stay tuned. I will also publish more contents regarding the lifestyle and stunning places I go to in every region.
@@LeggettImmobilierProperty The accent is great!! Amazing video as well.
Leggett Immobilier look forward to it Thankyou
Well worth the price, just to have a reason for routinely saying 'Gironde' (and also the magical words 'Aquitaine' and 'Dordogne' - all three being joyful words to say). And then there's the delightful 'Folie de Grandeur' dollhouse scale of the chateau, which would make it highly manageable to own.
Chateau Leggett is a vary special place the possibilities are endless with it. What a wonderful place to live.
Leggett is the name of the Estate Agent....
quelle superbe visite!! si j en avait les moyens, j acheterai cette petite merveille et ne changerai/ajouterai que l'indispensable.../...what a superb visit !! if I had the means, I will buy this little wonder and only change/add the essential . Merci pour cette découverte
The natural light inside is beautiful.
OMG it is Bouilh! The chateau of Lucy la Tour du Pin
Wow you actually buy a museum. All untouched. 😍 Would be great if the new owners could keep everything in its place and open it for tourists. I would visit ! 🥰
It's beautiful, I hope whoever takes this project on does an excellent job but keep its historical charm alive. This is beautiful as it is.
I wish the decorations remained in there as well. It is so beautifully decorated.
Amazing, wouldn't want to touch it to be honest, so well preserved.
I absolutely love the layout
It is so beautiful the furniture amazing
WOW! Thank you for the show , outstanding place 👍👌🇫🇷🍷
Impossible to take on such a project, the roof repairs alone !!! dealing with a heating system, French property taxes !! looking after the grounds alone is a fortune, then restoring the rooms, many need a lot of work so it doesnt look like a museum, only a hotel and spa complex would be interested or some mega rich zillionaire who would strip out and modernise it all ,,,,
Over to you, Jeff Bezos..... CMJ Canada
What an amazing and beautiful place this is. I wonder how many rooms there are? It would be fascinating to learn about life during its heyday. Thanks for the video!
I do not have the exact number of rooms in this stunning chateau but our listing agent surely will! Do not hesitate to send her your questions via the contact form available on the property page here: www.frenchestateagents.com/french-property-for-sale/view/104199LMA33/chateau-for-sale-in-st-andre-de-cubzac-gironde-aquitaine-france
absolutely amazing! thank you for sharing!
Magnificent piece of art.
How much History, the architecture is extraordinary indescribable.
Beautiful! Obviously someone has touched it, cause it is clean and dusted!!
Yes, this property has been maintained over the years. What we meant by 'untouched' is that no major changes were made to the architecture and you can still find the original furniture, paintings, books, etc. 😉And the dust is there, believe us...
I don't know how you missed the dust and cobwebs. And, the gentleman did add that there were no changes for "decades."
Spectacular. I love Chateau Homes. I need to visit one.
She had a nice rest and now it is time for her to shine once more.
Shines light on perfectly naturally lit painting to make it more visible only to make it barely visible.
Love the worn colors, these people lived a very nice life. Maybe someone can make it into a beautiful bed & breakfast this pace is just magnificent thanx for sharing : - )
I really wanted to look inside the cupboards and wardrobes! What a beautiful time capsule of a home.
Just beautiful
"..... Duchesse du Barry, hid there during the French revolution which did cost to the owner... his head! Luckily it was preserved and did make its way through the ages and centuries. " Oh no, I read this initially that the head was preserved ! .... Wonderful place, so many of the Leggett properties are.
Goodness, no, fortunately, we were referring to the property and not the Duchesse's head 😂 Thank you, we do try to show you the most beautiful houses for sale in France! 😊
It is magnificent! It is ready to be cleaned and used as a movie set for a period piece.
It used to be on sale for 16 millions euros.Great Place
Love it ! Near Bordeaux ! is it good wine there ?
Heritage hotel is the only thing comes to my mind seeing this kinda property as its only way to keep such big property manageable and useful while keeping the glory without any damage.
I would spend hours in there just looking at everything 😍
The French chateau 1789 wow it,s so amazing and interesting the art and the furnishings It should not be destroyed but made into a place for tourist I love it and the guy who did the video his accent and he ,s a cutie
Wow thanks for sharing good day matie😏❤️
The family who owns the chateau needs to get busy dusting and polishing!!!
I would imagine it would be daily work that starts a turnover cycle in rooms on each end of the home every 8 days or so.
It’s gorgeous, thank you for sharing
Absolutely delightful... but the cost to bring things like electric up to code! I suppose if one wanted to create a hotel/b&b, it would be a one-room-at-a-time project, probably starting with the kitchen!
I dont know about one else"
this simply took my breath away,
Oh I wish beyond my dreams
I could buy this and all in tacked,
Oh my goodness...💐
I wouldn't change a thing...
I would only bring happiness and love back in to this wonderful family chateau...
I hope there will be an additional
Updates on this 💞
"intact"
Oh how I'd love to see that place filled with guests, a good restaurant near the original kitchen, the vineyard in full use, beautiful garden (kitchen garden and flower garden, maybe lemons and well). Weddings and birthday parties. One proud owner
So beautiful!❤
Wow this place is so amazing and complete with furniture.A look into the past that can’t be beat.
You can tell the floors are in very bad shape because the squeaking comes from the natural settling and age, but the crunching sound is from dry rot/termites or both
Beautiful
Confused w the way YT works. Yesterday it recommended many treehouses/ tiny houses... And today recommends many big old mansion/ chateau& countryhouses😄
You said it has not changed since 1789, but someone put bathrooms in. It is a beautiful place nice to see someone looking after it.
You could move straight in, it looks timeless.
The chance to grow grapes & have wine production would be awesome!
Tres magnifique if I won the lottery I’d buy it and spend the rest of my life exploring everything , all I’d then change was the electricity , water , then keep it maintained .
This is far too beautiful and far too historical to change , it should be kept as is , for everybody to admire .
Wow! What an amazing chateu..
How can such a beautiful property be neglected for so long
Amazing!
Absolutely stunning
I hope it's tax free to restore and keep these gems of history, They are all unique and cannot be replicated. Hope the government considers that.
I would move the two towers away from the main building and build a semetric copy of the singular left wing building on the right and then create a huge french garden around the premises.
Exciting and stunning!
#justtypin
The Host of this video is a good tour guide. I enjoy the French accent. I hope he shows his viewers more French places.
Simply stunning!!!! Absolutely beautiful!!!! I would love for you to post more pictures of the other rooms.

Great, a little dusty, but majestic ! 7 millions is quite cheap for 70 hectares ( 700.000 m2) + chateau + vineyard . Truly unique !
Cyril does a great job explaining the chateau, only he couldn't open those doors upstairs. If I could only afford the price.....7.350 million eu. Please by it and keep everything the way we see it now...e
