whats up fellas, here is a college football clip less than 24 hrs old and just posted roughly an hour ago!!! South Carolina Home game last night!!! 4 Eva Cocky!!! ruclips.net/video/Lw88Q4ZIWjM/видео.htmlsi=TKPjhyD4L8IkaWa3
he was listed as 6-9 his whole career but everyone knew he was taller. he would be in pictures with 6-10 and 6-11 players and look taller. So nothing was ever official but everyone knew he wasn't 6-9. He is about an even 7 foot with shoes on. I think he wanted to appear shorter so he was never looked at as a center.
Durant is a legit 6'11 guy, he purposefully listed himself as 6'9 after he grew a couple inches around his 2nd year because he thought being listed as taller would mean his coach would play him at power forward or center, and he wanted to remain a small forward and be more of a perimeter oriented player. He's a very singular player, in that there's never been a guy his height who has such a good change of direction, his movements are very guard like despite his height. He also has ridiculously long arms even for his size, he's got at least a 7'5 wingspan He might be the most naturally gifted scorer in the history of basketball. He's won 4 scoring titles, 3 of them consecutively. He's an elite shooter, he can shoot/score at a high level from literally anywhere on the court, and he's got every possible move in his bag.
Exceptionally gifted in every facet of the game and in a 6'11 slender frame with over a 7 ft wingspan. This guy was made to play basketball. Turns out he's pretty good at investing his millions and will probably end up one of the wealthier NBA players.
There's never been a player like KD in terms of his body type, height, movement ability, ball-handling, and scoring prowess. The 50-40-90 club is a statistical achievement used to distinguish players as excellent shooters. It means that a player had a season average shooting over 50% from the field, over 40% from 3, and over 90% from the FT line. Only 9 players in NBA history have made it into this club, and KD just became the first to have a 55/40/90 season. In the 22-23 season he averaged 56/40/92 while pouring in 29.1 ppg. His efficiency is bananas. He's such a good shooter anyway, but given how tall he is and how long his arms are, he can often just shoot right over his defender even without putting much arc on his shots.
Watching Durant on TV is incredible. I got to watch him in person with Westbrook in person on OKC, it was mind blowing to watch that level of athleticism
Kevin Durant is the best and most skilled scorer of all time. Even Kobe Bryant himself admitted that in his whole career, he could never figure Durant out, so unguardable.
basketball fans in the pacific northwest have been through a lot, but watching KD's rookie season in Seattle only to watch the team get moved to OKC the next year was PAIN
They only drafted him after they tanked and knew they were moving. He’s come back and built courts and wore a Shawn kemp jersey when golden state played up here. Looked like he couldn’t wait to leave that sh*thole organization okc
Durant has played for 4 different franchises, he was drafted by Seattle who then moved to OKC after his rookie year, he then signed with Golden State in 2016 and won 2 championships (they have also won 2 without him), then he signed to the Brooklyn Nets in 2019, and he just got traded a few months ago to the Phoenix Suns. 2x champion and 2x Finals MVP
Kevin durant won two rings, both with the warriors, who also won rings before and after his tenure there. Id say the greatest NBA controversy of the modern era was KD joining that warriors team, due to Durant blowing a 3-1 lead to the warriors the year before he joined them, and also due to the warriors winning the most regular season games ever before adding one of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant.
Yes, in my city, Oklahoma City, he will always be intensely disliked. Russell Westbrook will always be loved because he stayed when he didnt necessarily have to. Btw, Westbrook has an insane highlight reel as well.
@@joelabel8260still one of my favorite players, there are still people who like him and appreciate what he did with the thunder. The majority and loudest group can't stand him now though.
@@lanceoneil i would have remained a fan of his had he not went to the GSW, who had just trashed OKC and who he was in informal talks with DURING the playoffs.
For a guy with his CV, he doesn't have a mind-blowing highlight reel. He is just amazingly consistent as a prolific scorer, sharpshooting range for a big, unbelievable athleticism and agility for his size, and plus defense using his frame and quickness.
Considered by many as the greatest scoring threat in history he’s about 7 ft with a point guard handle, elite jumper that you really can’t contest, and great finishing ability
People consider Durant the greatest scorer ever because he’s so tall, can shoot from wherever, and can almost score at will. He’s the most athletic at his height, the only one that compares to that height vs athleticism is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Durant tore his achilles tendon in 2019, took a year off recovering, and averaged MORE POINTS PER GAME after that. Layups, dunks, midrange, post-fadeaway, three-pointer, defense. He can do it all.
He is 6'11 but he has super long limbs and so when he jumps or extends his arms all the way he looks 9 feet tall. Makes it super hard on defenders to affect his shot
He's absolutely 7', but insists on being listed as 6'11". He has some hangup about being 7'. It's something about either being teased or feeling out of place as a kid.
One big thing to also know about KD since you both touched on his athleticism. He weighs around 240lbs so he’s a very heavy guy and it can be deceiving watching him and his slender frame on the court
It's difficult to express to non-basketball viewers the kind of "unicorn" Kevin Durant is. Someone at his height should not be able to move or shoot or handle the ball like that. He is consistently (for 10+ years now) been incredible and is easily one of the best scorers of all time.
KD has always been 6 foot 11. Don’t let them fool ya😂he also has a 7ft wingspan n can shoot over anybody in the NBA. That out of bounds shot in the crowd, they ended up winning that game. He has 2 rings with Golden State.
in #7 the guy he dunked on is Javale McGee, 7ft center and rim protector perhaps best known for his frequent appearances on Shaqtin a Fool. He was also in your 50 point dunk contest video - he was the guy with the crazy wingspan who dunked on 2 hoops side by side
Highly recommend the series “Greatest Peaks” by Thinking Basketball - thorough but accessible breakdowns of these legends you guys have been covering - I think you guys would love these videos
His best asset is his mid-rage jump shot - something not shown in highlights. Just about impossible to stop with his length and quick release. There are better shooters, dunkers, and drivers...but he has the most complete offensive game
Dirk please gentlemen, last single superstar to win a title, best European player ever and had imo the prettiest shot ever that is emulated by everyone to this day
The snake who slithered away to rival Golden State right after his Thunder team blew a 3-1 lead to them in the playoffs. Unrelated to that, he has one of the greatest basketball nicknames ever: the Slim Reaper.
KD will give you the easiest 30 points you've ever seen. this guy was made in a lab to get buckets. he's tall but flexible so he can get very low when he dribbles. and when he goes up to shoot it's impossible to really contest him unless you're his size. and he's overall one of the best shooters period at any height.
William Bullock invented the rotary press, an improved version of the printing press in 1836. While making adjustments one day, his leg got caught and crushed in the machine. Bullock contracted gangrene, and later died during surgery to amputate his leg.
the funny thing is that for most of Durant's career people were talking about the mythical unicorn of a bigman with guard skills every draft while they had the unicorn out there winning mvp but he'd told everyone he was 6'9" so people kept looking elsewhere.
He might have been 6-9 in that Seattle clip but he sure looks taller now. Which could have happened. Men can grow till they are 21, he was like 19 in that Seattle clip.
My fav player ever!! Also IMO the greatest scorer EVER 💯💯💯 •7ft monster with handles that can do EVERYTHING offensively. (Kobe retired saying he was never able to figure him out…) •Can score from EVERYWHERE on the court • Will make you pay from the ft line •Plays very unselfish. Despite that can still give you 30 a night easily, on less than 20 shots and GREAT efficiency •Mid range KING •Has such a smooth, beautiful game and makes every shot he takes look soo easy •Can create for himself easily • Beautiful shooting form, especially for his size and having such long arms • Will almost always have a mismatch. (Put someone his size on him, he’ll get past them. Put someone smaller he shoots over them easily) • Has as close to an unblockable shot as you can get •50/40/90 club member. RIDICULOUS for his size. •Can fit EASILY into any offense/system you put him in •Can pass •Plays defense •Great teamate •Also very coachable As close to unguardable as you can get. And overall just a chill, down to earth dude who just wants to hoop. Nothing else. Doesnt want to be a celebrity, doesnt want to be the face of attention. Just wants to play ball, and is happy doing so. And yes he has been listed at 6’9 most of his career. But if you look at him next to people who are actually 6’9-6’11 hes obv standing taller than them. Hes a true 1 of a kind player.
He's at least 6'11''. KD isn't really the highlight reel guy, like Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Lebron, Russell Westbrook or Vince Carter. KD is a scoring machine, one of the most unstoppable scorers in league history, and a technical maestro. He's much better appreciated IN GAME, like the NBA Finals and playoffs.
Since you mentioned McGee - he’s quite the figure in the NBA community due to his unfortunate habit of making the funniest mistakes imaginable. there’s a great secret base video on his beef with shaq born out of how much shaq was making fun of him on inside the nba, would reccommend
Durant was also an interesting case coming out of college. He was dominant in college and everyone loved his skills, but there were real concerns about his physical strength. At the draft combine he couldn't manage one rep in the bench press. He's an example of sometimes great players aren't always otherworldly athletes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he isn't an amazing athlete, just that there was concern about a physical weakness once upon a time.
his height and shooting ability makes him unguardable. he's basically 7ft and has one of the smoothest games ever, which is unheard of. he doesn't see a contest (hand in his face) when he shoots 90% of the time, you just hope he misses. ,
I like that you guys are doing quick google searches. It does not take away from the presentation. It just gives you guys better information in real time as your reacting. Good move.
He likely did not want to be perceived as a center, so he tried as much as possible to look like a wing, and his skeleton physique and claiming to be 6'9" are part of that.
he entered the league when he was 18 yo, he was listes 6'9 but he also admitted that he actually was taller, bcos if he put his true height in the application, they would make him play center which is not his natural position .. he plays small despite his height .. KD is one of the best scorers to ever play the game, a natural scorer ..
KD is one of the greatest scorers of all time, point blank period. Unstoppable on his day. He was considered at worst the 2nd best player in the league when he made the gutless decision to join the Warriors, infuriating so many fans because the GSW were such a strong team already, joining the Warriors guaranteed a championship as the parity was so big between them and the rest. Him and Lebron are the biggest cowards in the NBA, needing super teams to win chips, in the process instantly burning bridges with some fans, even though they both have stans who will support anything, bronzesexuals etc. If Durant stayed at the Thunder his whole career he would be universally loved, chip or not as he was that good and talented.
He's arguably the greatest scorer in nba history. Jordan averaged the most points per game. Lebron scored the most total in a career. But arguably Durant is the complete offensive package. And he's 4th all time in points per game. He's got 4 inches on jordan & kobe, like 2 on magic, like 1 on bird, and like 7 on steph. He's quicker than Shaq & Tim Duncan. he's a better shooter than mj and lbj. Imo it's his handles that are lacking, and thats primarily because his height/wingspan.
Random but interesting KD tidbit: in 2007, the Portland Trail Blazers (the same franchise that famously drafted center Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan in 1984) had the opportunity to draft Durant with the #1 pick. Instead they chose center Greg Oden, who would struggle with injuries throughout his career and was never able to become an impact player, while Durant became one of the all-time greats.
You're lucky, he broke my heart , when he left to Golden state, but I kept his Jersey , because it wasn't cheap and I'm from Europe, well I'm half American, but I live in Europe.
@@basketballuniverse2244 my dad loved the super Sonic’s. And then they moved. He said kd is one of a kind player. Took me to see him play(here in phx). Sat court side. Got my jersey signed by him.
Love the older videos clips of when he was with the Sonics....then bye Durant and bye Sonics. Here's to hoping they come back and before Durant retires lol. Once the Sonics left I just rooted for whatever team Durant was on. Keep the videos coming you guys are so much fun to watch them with!!
I used to be a massive KD fan during his OKC run, that all changed when he decided to join the team that bounced him off the playoffs (the Warriors). I don't mind players leaving their long tenure teams, but the way he left was arguably worse than LeBron leaving Cleveland to join Miami. He's a once in a lifetime type of player, but his leadership skills are questionable at best. He left a comfortable situation he created in Golden State and hasn't even sniffed a title since.
Durant is 6-10 without shoes but also got taller since he came in the league at 19 and also since he’s been playing forever, the newer generation has gone smaller with the big guys so he also naturally looks taller comparatively in his more recent days. So all of the above is why looks a lot taller as the years progress lol
Kevin Durant spent his first 9 years in OKC were he won rookie of the year and a MVP then 3 in golden State were he won 2 championship and then he went to Brooklyn for 3 years and got traded last year to Phoenix
Was easily my favorite player until he claimed he was coming back all summer and then signed with Golden State. If you wanted to leave at least make it known but he played the fan favorite til the day he signed with the warriors. Never would have lost respect for him like I did had he just made it known. It's in the past and my thunder have a tremendous young team and a crazy amount of draft picks over the next 3 to 4 years so I'm ok with where they are. Nothing but love for Durant now, still love watching him play but I'd be lying to say I'm not salty he's no longer with the Thunder. He got his rings and hopefully okc gets one in the next 3 to 5 years ❤️
He’s the ideal perfect basketball player. There’s not really any way to keep him from scoring the most you can do is try to contain him to under 30 points for the night
When you guys do first reactions to a player you should do a video where somebodies talking so you can learn about the player first and then highlights later that way you get the whole picture 😊
A book could and undoubtedly will be written about his career. Starting from being drafted 2nd when he should have been drafted 1st by the Portland team, and then the team that drafted him was stolen and taken to OK city where he had two difficult teammates who wanted to be the star and a then being traded to a team that had just won a title where he again had trouble with teammates. Along with his being rather a difficult prima donna he also was very loud on social media. And continue use to this day to be difficult to meld with team mates. His height as I always understood it to be was 7 feet.
ok dude, I didn't think Damo would be stuck that much on Durant being 6'9 LUL....He's 6'10, but he has a wingspan of 7'5....It just looks different because not many 6'10 athletes have the jumping ability the he has
Definitely react to his Star teammate back in OKC Russell Westbrook, he was an insanely athletic player who excelled in the fastbreak and scoring in the paint. He was also the 2nd only player in NBA history to average a triple double in multiple seasons. Definitely give him a watch when you can 👍
Highlights can be misleading, example, Jason Williams. These shows a lot of dunks but he is not really known for that. He is one of the best scorers the game has ever scene. His rookie season is the only season he averaged below 25 pts per game. In 15 seasons, he never had a single season were he averaged below 20 pts per game. There's nobody in the NBA can guard Durant 1v1 at his peak. He's a little older now though and showing signs of slowing down last season albeit still averaging 29.1 pts per game. He belongs to a group called 50-40-90 club. A group of players who managed to achieve 50% FG percentage, 40% 3pt, and 90% FT in a season. There are currently 9 NBA players on this club: Larry Bird Mark Price Reggie Miller Steve Nash Dirk Nowitzki Kevin Durant Steph Curry Malcolm Brogdon Kyrie Irving These players are statistically the best shooters in the history of the NBA.
You guys should check out Joe Johnson. He had a very similar playstyle and in my opinion had better and more clutch highlights than Kevin Durant and was a very underrated player.
KD has been mis-heighted, for lack of a better word, all his career because of his lanky frame. He is about 6'10" and it can be observed when he stands next to similarly tall players.

•Can fit EASILY into any offense/system you put him in
•Can pass
•Plays defense
•Great teamate
•Also very coachable
As close to unguardable as you can get.
He averaged over 35 points per game in the 2017 finals. A legend. Best scorer of all time.
Since you mentioned McGee - he’s quite the figure in the NBA community due to his unfortunate habit of making the funniest mistakes imaginable. there’s a great secret base video on his beef with shaq born out of how much shaq was making fun of him on inside the nba, would reccommend
He's listed 6'10" but closer to 7'0"
Durant was also an interesting case coming out of college. He was dominant in college and everyone loved his skills, but there were real concerns about his physical strength. At the draft combine he couldn't manage one rep in the bench press. He's an example of sometimes great players aren't always otherworldly athletes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he isn't an amazing athlete, just that there was concern about a physical weakness once upon a time.
his height and shooting ability makes him unguardable. he's basically 7ft and has one of the smoothest games ever, which is unheard of. he doesn't see a contest (hand in his face) when he shoots 90% of the time, you just hope he misses. ,
Never seen a basketball game before and watched this or any game of his and you'd think he had to be top 5 EVER 🔥 Craaaaazy 💯
I like that you guys are doing quick google searches. It does not take away from the presentation. It just gives you guys better information in real time as your reacting. Good move.
Appreciate the feedback, thank you 🙏
Almost every person's listed height is wrong in either direction for some reason.
The earliest sale transaction on the internet was for a bag of weed. Recorded in the ‘70s, the stash was negotiated between Stanford and MIT students
I was at the game for #3, it was crazy. Vince Carter had hit a go ahead 3 right before that shot
He’s got like a 7-4” wingspan too!
🔥🔥🔥
They need to react to allen iverson, hes the best ballhandler of all time and i think you guys would be super impressed
Yessir, there is still a lot of bball players that they haven't seen, but I guess that's a good thing, because that means more videos.
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏 Pretty sure he’s coming up fairly soon
@@DNReacts good to know, hes super fun to watch and is a smaller player so its even more impressive
Kd signed my jersey back when he played in okc. I was 14.
@@revan5293 Wow, Awesome
He drafted by the Seattle Supersonics, and then the team changed to the Oklahoma city thunder.
Different team. Thunder were a new organization not a city moving team
He won 2 rings with the warriors
Love the older videos clips of when he was with the Sonics....then bye Durant and bye Sonics. Here's to hoping they come back and before Durant retires lol. Once the Sonics left I just rooted for whatever team Durant was on. Keep the videos coming you guys are so much fun to watch them with!!
His nickname is "Durantula".
KD was phenomenal! I'm 45, and yes, I'm growing smaller now! Fitted hats from the past don't fit now!
Kevin Durant spent his first 9 years in OKC were he won rookie of the year and a MVP then 3 in golden State were he won 2 championship and then he went to Brooklyn for 3 years and got traded last year to Phoenix
his first year in Seattle.
@@dennispurdy3533 which became OKC so the same
KD was 6'9 in the 10th grade. Go Suns!
All love
all imma say is my username used to be "KD better", dude is a beast of a scorer
The Slim Reaper!!
You guys should check out his mvp speech. It’s very good
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
He's only 6'9" he has a 7 foot wingspan though that's why.
Durant was listed with Golden State as 7 foot
He’s 6’11
All you need to know is when KD was on the warriors he was the main scoring option, not curry. He won 2 rings there and got both finals mvps.
KD is the most efficient unstoppable player of all time
Hes definitely very skilled. Especially in changing teams
There are currently 9 NBA players on this club:
Larry Bird
Mark Price
Reggie Miller
Steve Nash
Dirk Nowitzki
Kevin Durant
Steph Curry
Malcolm Brogdon
Kyrie Irving
These players are statistically the best shooters in the history of the NBA.
Bring back the Super Sonics!
You guys should check out Joe Johnson. He had a very similar playstyle and in my opinion had better and more clutch highlights than Kevin Durant and was a very underrated player.
That last three was also in LeBrons face.
KD has been mis-heighted, for lack of a better word, all his career because of his lanky frame. He is about 6'10" and it can be observed when he stands next to similarly tall players.
You guys should react to his new highlights
Appreciate the suggestion David, thank you 🙏
7 foot sniper
If you love Durant, check out his former teammate Russell Westbrook
Appreciate the suggestion, thank you 🙏
