Once again you've helped me best a tricky 200cc time trial ghost. Your guide to the first "lap" helped me consistently get from 28 seconds and change to the sub 27 I needed, and while I wasn't able to pull off the full shortcut jump even jumping down to the next section of track shaved off a second or so and that was tremendous. Then the track switch from green to purple right before the end sealed the deal. You're amazing.
Thanks for this awesome tutorial!! I can finally do this ultra shortcut that I’ve been wanting to pull off ever since I got the game😂 took me about half an hour to grasp it but I managed to do it in the end! Thanks again!!!
This video is exactly what I needed to Master Big Blue on 200cc, especially the Big Blue shortcut. I've time trialed this track plenty of times after watching this to where I can now run the optimal line every time this track gets picked online and I've been able to win pretty much every time, so I thank you for making this video. You have helped me perfect my lines for this track. Also my combo is what I like to call the Captain Falcon combo. It's where I take my medium Mii with the Captain Falcon amiibo racing suit, Blue Falcon, red roller wheels and Super Glider and I'm always able to get a big lead after hitting the shortcut lol.
7:40 the purple is faster so after the first boost pad drift left onto the green track once you’re there after the 2nd booster drift left and pull down to make it to the little ramp😊
Pretty informative video! Btw, I want to state 2 things 1: For the time trial kart build, you can use Sports Coupe or inkstriker if you haven't unlocked Mach 8 because they virtually have the same stats. Mach 8 is only used in the current world record due to its hitbox 2: To have a better coin line at 2:31 hold hard left earlier I believe this is a fairly decent track guide for a beginner :) (Want to mention that I have a 1:03.250 here with inward)
Yeah I definitely didn't take a very good line at the beginning for the coins haha that's why I made sure to make a note of it. Since I'm primarily an RTA speedrunner I almost exclusively run shroomless with Waluigi + Biddy + Rollers + Paper Glider, so there's definitely gonna be some sloppiness with the lines when I'm using other builds since I haven't practiced them much
0:22 that hype man is in every course of f zero which the track is based off of. Thanks for the tutorial on how to destroy my friends on this map (given we are playing mushrooms only) 😂This is absolutely my favorite Mario kart course ever but it pales in comparison to the feeling I get from F zero X.
Hi! I just had a question: Why does the Paper Glider get chosen in your video and pretty much every time trial world record when other gliders have the exact same stats? Big Blue is my favourite track btw so nice that you made a video about it!
It’s all just personal preference really. Out of all the gliders that share the stats with it (cloud glider, flower, and parachute) I just like the way paper looks the best
Hey Bayésique, Your videos are great very worked, thank you for the tips and sharing I finished the time trials thanks to your tips, I know the NICS, and learned the pro tips I'm looking to do the 200cc next so your channel is great for Mariokart 8. I'm French it's nice to have thought of the subtitles, it helped me a lot... Excellent channel learning, training, it's more than I expected... Thank you a lot I subscribed and activated the bell to reward you for your work.
I have a 1:03.900 and my best laps give a 1:03.400, I find doing just an mt before the second shroom spot saves time through a tighter line and it make the nisc before the glider easier. Now I’m at a 1:03.433 Now at 1:02.966 Now sports coupe lowered it too 1:02.566 Now switched back to Mach and got 1:02.450
Lol no you didnt because that's isnt possible on big blue. Due to the times being tied to frames on big blue digits in the hundredths and thousandths spot can only be 00, 16, 33, 50, 66, or 83. None of which have a 4 in the hundredths spot
I don't know exactly but there's something called "Gravity Hop", which gives you a very tiny increase in distance. You can experience this for yourself if you make to before the glider on Mario Kart Stadium and don't accelerate, just keep hopping and you'll eventually get down there Not sure whether or not this saves time but even if it does it only saves a few hundredths of a second
really awesome videos :) can you do one on Mario Stadium 200cc. I've been time trailing it for a while but have no idea how the world record is getting so far ahead so soon. it could be just cleaner racing, but there could be some strats im just not aware of. will be good to hear what you think.
Need to practice the ultra shortcut more, I can only get halfway there so far (still more than enough to beat the Nintendo ghost though, so thank you!)
I'm probably going to do another video on just this shortcut with an input display or something... much easier than just going "hold some direction on a clock face"
@@agoezwild but yeah basic story is start the right drift, hold down on the joystick to give yourself some air time, and then when you pass the wall start also holding right. It’s more like 6:30 -> 4:30 kind of motion if that makes sense
I've done that big jump a couple of times now, but i can't always do it. It's still a bit of a chance game for me. The drift to the right, just before the jump, is my main challenge.
I don’t think you have to actually do that, it just makes it so that you can land in a better angle with a super mini turbo. The other thing is to make sure that you are as close to the fence as you can get (without hitting it obviously) when you start that right drift and to be holding down on the joystick (much closer to 6 on a clock instead of 4 or 5) until you’re basically passed the big wall
@@Bayesic Thanks for your reply man! I will keep on trying for sure. We have had the switch for 9 months now and i play MK8 on a daily basis. I love the challenge it keeps presenting to me ;-)
If you're struggling to get enough air off the edge of the track, what you can do is once you've started your right drift, briefly hold left when going off the edge of the track before holding down-right when midair. You'll get significantly more air and should make it pretty much trivial to make this cut
@@Dinostraw Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it. I discovered that i need to use a mushroom boost to clear that part of the track. I will try your idea!
@@Fastbikkel you shouldn't need to use a mushroom to clear the gap. Give what I said a try, it should be enough to get you to the other side even without a mushroom
How were you able to view a replay of a race from the normal pov? Whenever I try to do this it changes the camera angle often, despite making a lot of changes in the settings.
I play Mario kart 8 on the Wii U but for some reason when I try do to do the ultra, I can't make it, I barely make it and I fall btw I play Vs mode 200cc cuz they don't have 200cc tts
I got 1.07 using this strategy it wasn’t perfect and there were areas i could have released my drift and started another drift. I used waluigi biddybugy and roller tires i did not cut the dirt on the first boost area
@@Bayesic Ah, makes sense! I assume it's tracks 1-48 on 150cc and then 1-48 on 200cc for a total of 96 right? And then you have the booster courses in another playlist? Thanks for the amazing content by the way. Just found you channel yesterday and I'm looking forward to trying out all the little tricks in your videos!
does that crazy shortcut work for walluigi, wild wiggler, roller, and paper glider? I been trying for hundreds of times and somehow only succeeded once!!!
