On this week's episode of Hello Okanagan, the crew takes a weekend trip to the South Okanagan and stay at Penticton Lakeside Resort to bring you several jam-packed episodes of what the south Okanagan has to offer.
This episode focuses on Oliver, where we get to go behind the wheel of a race car at Area 27, go go-karting at Kartplex, and visit the currently in-construction District Wine Village.
We shot so much footage that it was impossible to fit it into one episode, so watch out for a future episode for more.

How are they coping through this ‘New Normal’ which we’re all living in? One was laid off (pivoting into new opportunities) and the other had to change his business model to adapt.

Oliver, I have lived here long enough, the house is pending and then I'm off to Nova Scotia. Pros - if you like heat, this is the place, it gets HOT in the summer. It usually has quite a short winter but climate changes have been creeping in. Gardener's paradise with the longest growing season in Canada. The wine village has had a few issues. I was a security guard across from it for over a year during construction, very slow going, A couple of pretty good concerts though. If you're into wine, it's a great place to visit for a few days. I'll take time to mention my favorite winery since 1987, Gehringer Brothers, just outside of Oliver, has been winning awards for decades. The Wine Village, pricey and somewhat trendy for me.
But, this is a senior's town, if you are young you have a large chance of being bored. The last bar closed down a few weeks ago, now there's just a small brewery/pub left. Entertainment is from the distant past, Elvis impersonator is a yearly attraction. I am 63 and my wife and I are too young for this crowd. If you're into wine, it's a great place to visit for a few days. Head to Osoyoos when you want a little more action and attractions.
