To be honest, I prefer Alex's movements more. Not to mention how he parkours over small or large obstacles when he valts. Plus unlike James Alex can launch himself up to 4 times. 2 with the air dash, 3rd with the cannon ball, and fourth with the dive kick.

@@NotdondodaYou mean Claws, right? Well, other than the Grab Pounce, the Claw Pounce kinda exposes your powers and make you look more like a Wolverine character rather than an edgy parkourist. But then again, this is James Heller, a Kratos knockoff

So here’s the thing folks, I’m post campaign for both games and have all the movement upgrades for Alex and James. Alex definitely has WAY more flash and style to it. It’s exaggerated, anime-ish, fluid, and flashy. Perfect for how insane and frantic that game can be. But it can also be used with a lot of intention; you can literally design your own stylish courses around the map and make Alex pull off some superhuman parkour master stuff. You can get so good with Alex that your parkour starts to weave together with combat so you’ll look even more insane. Now James parkour is interesting because after playing with it for awhile now I gotta say, I really do like his parkour style. One thing about Proto-twos parkour you have to understand is where it’s happening. The streets and rooftops James traverses through are SO DENSELY detailed. Trash cans, railings, roof accesses, GREENHOUSES, generators, etc etc. So he’s going to be clearing a lot more things in less time given how friggin insanely fast he is. Now for the most part you can achieve the same level of style and flow you would in Proto-one, but it’s accessibility is gated by a WAY bigger gap that involves understanding his parkour animations. Now I will always prefer Alex’s accessible and fluid parkour system, but I KID YOU NOT when I say that I have created EVEN MORE stylish moments with James than I have with Alex. And because I’d argue the skill ceiling is higher with James, it’s slightly more satisfying than achieving something cool in Proto-one. The DOWNSIDE that’s holding back Proto-twos system tho is its jank. You have to wrestle with understanding the animations a lil too much sometimes compared to Alex’s easy to use yet hard to master system. In conclusion, both systems are great, but Proto-one takes the W due to its solid design and animations. If Proto-twos system was ironed out just a lil bit more it would definitely overtake Proto-one no questions asked.
Yeah, give me a mod that adds P2's extra upgrades into P1 with Heller's level of top speed and glide, and I'm golden.
Heller's movements seem to be heavier than alex's which at first doesn't look very appealing if you have played as Alex in the first game . Although i would say heller's movements certainly fit into his character it just doesn't seem to fit into the prototype series.
How does it not fit into the prototype series when he is half of the prototype series...
I agree with the first part, but the second thing you said makes no sense, I mean, the prototype series are just 2 games with different main characters with different skills and movement, I don't see the problem at all
If they make a Prototype 3, I hope they improve the gliding, after seeing Just Cause 4 and Spider-Man 2's gliding, Prototype could make the gliding feel better as a traversal option

0:16 Man, prototype's npc ai is so stupid it's easily compared to gta's 3d trilogy. Like, you see some dude jumping on a few meters height and then safely lands on ground, and you just walk away like it's absolutely normal ? Even the marine didn't flinch.

i agree lmao but let's be honest if it was "realistic" as you want it to be it would be pretty frustrating. you can't run, jump and glide and run up walls without being alerted for like 90% of the game in that case.

I think I prefer the glide movement in Prototype 2 more, since it can make you fly without touching the ground.

You have to upgrade Heller level by completing side missions and main missions and collect all the collectibles

Prototype 1 is lighter imo but prototype 2 is faster
I feel much faster playing 1 for some reason
BC prototype 1 feels lighter and this makes running and jumping feel faster while prototype 2 gives Heller more weight so it feels slower while Alex just feels faster
p1 had more functionality

Having played both in the last week, you’re both wrong. Both accomplish different things and excel in different ways despite their similarities, P2 fulfills the Michael Bay action power fantasy while P1 is a more visceral action thriller type power fantasy. Both are good, both have strengths, both have weaknesses, like P2 excels in its upgrading system, but the combat is extremely shallow by comparison. P1 is flipped in making the combat extremely in depth with massive variety but there’s almost no story or upgrades to make them worthwhile
