Great word! My only humble plea is as handlers or teachers of the scriptures, we should be mindful of the misconceptions we create in our attempt of curing certain mischiefs or misconceptions. I'm saying this due to Pst Dr Otabils attempt to "debris" someone bringing you a message from God...Isaiah 38:1-5, Hebrews 13:1-2, Revelation 1:1. Having said that I say my respect and love to you always Doc
The part about Dr. Otabil saying he won't listen to anyone who has a word from God to him because in his view God doesn't gossip about his children can be misleading (I'm not saying intentionally because that is his considered opinion). It is perceiving God in a certain fixed way and this mindset can disappoint you and cause you to miss God. Consider 1 Samuel 3: Samuel was living with Eli the priest when God called him 3 times and on the 4th call revealed Himself to Samuel. In verse 11 God spoke to Samuel about Eli - specifically God's coming judgment against Eli's family. As difficult as it was for Samuel to break this news to Eli the priest, he did it, and more so after Eli demanded Samuel disclose what God had revealed to him. Eli's humility in listening to God even from his boy servant, Samuel, shows that even if you are a priest or minister God can still send you a message through someone else. It's not gossip. When it comes to God have no expectations of how you think he will act. God's modus operandi is not predictable. He is formless and shapeless and God can use anything and everything at his disposal to achieve any means anyhow, which is why no one can understand the ways of the LORD.
Samuel at that time was yet to know how to commune with God, so he wasn't sure. Here is a man who is confident that Christ dwells in him richly and that he has constant fellowship with the Father. Blessings.
@@AdeniyiBadmus How so? Eli taught Samuel the voice of God and how to respond to Him, and on Samuel's first encounter with God the LORD had a deeper personal conversation with the young prophet, including the revelation about Eli the great priest. Couldn't God have spoken to Eli directly? How many Christians and Pastors these days with full consciousness of Chirst, as you reference, commune with God as Samuel did? In any case, the point here is that God can and very often speaks to us through other people. And God has a good reason why but we just don't understand it or erroneously think he must speak to us every time as Dr. Otabil is implying. Humility is key when it comes to God for his ways are endless and unfathomable. Peace.
@@AdeniyiBadmus Going back to your point about Christ, even Jesus the Christ Himself has a message from God during his transfiguration on the Mountain. According to Luke chapter 9, "30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure,[a] which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem." If God used Moses and Elijah, who were considered dead far beyond their generation/time, to deliver a message to Jesus (the fullness of the Deity and God in flesh), there's no basis anywhere to conclude that you're too great or matured in Christ for God to speak to you through another person. In any case, does this mean Jesus at the time didn't already know what Moses and Elijah were talking about? NO, he in fact did. God sometimes can use another person or people to remind us (for emphasis) about his will, to admonish us, or to strengthen us. To claim this is gossip is to have a misplaced understanding of God's ways. I hope this example of Jesus brings finality to any doubts.
You see why he got deceived by Ato Essien? Mr know it all, yet as board chairman a bank collapse under your very nose. He still hasn't learnt anything yet.
@@gideonmontgomery7809 There is no evidence that the discussion about Christ's departure between Himself, Moses and Elijah contained a message from God - the bible does not mention these two delivering any message. Christ did not need that - He fully knew what He was doing and how the Father had instructed Him to go about it. You thus cannot use that as an example.
Thank you. These teachings about fighting demons in prayer were taught by clergy. But it's never too late to pray as Jesus taught us in the Lord's prayer 🙏
My Faith has taken a good direction for the past month I decided to stick to the messages of Dr. Otabil and put them into practices. I was misled by some preachers and I lost interest in the things of God, but to God be the glory for His intervention through the man of God.
Plenty talk, no power. Paul said he didn't come in the wisdom of men, but in the demonstration of God's power. Why did Paul say he fought the beast of Ephesus? Twa Tweaa Plenty talk, No Power!
No ! Apostle Paul is not wrong. Yes, we are not supposed to fight, but remain defended. Virtually all the weapons mentioned in Eph. 6 v 11-13 are for defence. The flesh is the enemy of the spirit. Our prayer should focus on changing (transforming) us. When we get transformed, the things we desire to change get changed ! Come to think of it, we (in our flesh are no match with these powers...). We are spirits... Our Master/Father/Friend is their Master. We don't talk to them ! We report them to their Master... Better still, we remind them of the main battle, where they lost it all - "having spoiled principalities and powers, He mad a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it ! The battlefield is our mind. "Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of God". BUT THANKS BE TO GOD, WHO ALWAYS LEADS US IN TRIUMPH (AS TROPHIES OF CHRIST'S VICTORY).... 2 Cor. 2 v 14

So what happens to Ephesians 6:12?? These kinds sermons makes demons happier, because they will finish you in your ignorance. You have so many in the church struggling in life because of sermons like this. The earth on which we are is a battlefield, and demons are the enemies, and prayer is the weapon of the believer, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but demons, principalities and powers. This kind of stupidity will get people in serious trouble. Judgement day is coming and each of us will give account to our foolishness. Sad.
