I am a complete beginner. I’ve only had my violin for five days lol but been practicing 3-4 hours a day. I can almost (key word: almost) play happy birthday. However my notes sound terrible no matter how straight I hold the bow or how careful I am with pressure. I know I should not even attempt something like this. I know I’m being Harsh on myself. However the idea of ever being able to play something like this seems impossible. I cannot believe that anyone ever managed to make such a beautiful sound. I will practice forever till I learn.

Every instrument player once was a beginner-you need a good guidance for your beginning (teacher),patience and determination. To be honest -Happy birthday song isn’t a best song to start with- find twinkle twinkle little star with variations and learn that song first.

@@violinstudiesandlessons-qn6mh I actually have been doing that song by accident thinking it would be harder and I am having MUCH better success!
