BIOS and EFI - turn off powered USB (Gigabyte Motherboard)

- In this tutorial I am going to show you how it turn off the annoying powered USB when the PC is off. This if for a gigabyte motherboard but would work on other motherboards.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This does turn of Wake on Lan.

Just a little trick if you can't get this to work. If you monitor has usb ports, then you can plug into the monitor and when you turn off your monitor the lights will go off.
Worked like a charm. It does disable Power On with KB/M, but I'd rather not have my room lit up by RGB light 24/7 lol. Cheers!

Exactly what I was looking for! My PC always woke up from sleep mode when the USB drive was attached. As long as this tip doesn't blow up my system, I'm very thankful. :)

hey does this solution applies to u while PC on sleep mode? i have erp enabled but still usb powered rgb devices lit when sleep :(

still having a red light on even when turned off. close to pci slot and it tooks time before it turns off(the led) even the wires are unplugged. any idea?

It's probably just power is slow to drain from said part...
Bought a rgb headset today and I was going nuts that the rgb didnt turn off when I shut down the computer, and it wouldnt go off till I plug it out. This worked perfectly. Now the rgb turns off on shutdown. Thanks for the video!
not a nice guy you could also turn off the psu which is what I did
this only works when shutting down? do you have solution for sleep option? my usb powered rgb mouse pads etc. still lit when in sleep mode :( thanks in advance

It works, now I have to press the power button to turn the computer on. At least my computer is sitting on my desk. Now i don't have to cover up the usb mouse that has LED's in it, or open it up and add a switch for the led on or off.
thats what this if for to power off little LED lights???

THANK YOU!!!! It has been driving me crazy! I had turned off the mouse and keyboard wake, as lonk as everything else and still it was bugging me. It simply wouldn't turn the usb power off... I use a screen switch (usb powered) and it was meessing with it. Thank you!!!

ERP enabled endly turns my USB hub off when i stop my PC.
It has been hard to find this solution, happy for this.

Me too. For me my USB ports stay on in Sleep Mode. But if I shut down my computer fully or I go into Hibernate mode, my USB turns off, so I use Hibernate a lot. (hibernate shows up after I go to Control Panel, System & Security, Power Options, and click on "Choose what the power buttons do" in the left pane. It contains the options for showing Hibernate on the menu)

omg thank you for this. Have been searching for days. I would never have guessed it was ErP, I don't even know what that means. Do you know?
Not working for me, usb3 ports are still providing power when shutdown.
That's strange, enabling ErP or EUP should disable all USB ports at the cost of not being able to power on the device with a keyboard or mouse. Are you sure the USB ports aren't powered independently, USB hubs sometimes are.
how to go there, my keyboard is not working, my problem is when i plugged my keyboard the three lights will on and then suddenly it off, my flash drive cant also read, but my broadband and camera dslr is working! but my port dont have any defects, i tried watching all tutorial but its not working also,what can i do help me pleaseeee
Thank you. For Gigabyte x570 BIOS I found it under Advanced Mode, Settings and then Power Platform.
My audio interface can sleep now.

Hi,my case fans,which are 4,are remaining on after shutdown my PC,only the fans,the CPU fan,mobo led and gpu led is off. I've done this erp enableling but it doesn't solve the fans issue,I disable fast startup,nothing! All the components are new. Do u think if I update the mobo bios will help the issue? The temps are all right. When I shutdown fans are remain on,and oh..I forgot,the LED from fans are pulsating!

Not really. You could tried the USB on the monitor and when the monitor turns off, it stops the RGB on the keyboard, etc (if that is the problem)?

i have a Gigabyte b450 motherboard and have enabled ErP and saved, but the USB's continue to be powered as evidenced by my illuminated keyboard. i have sleep and hibernate off in both windows an bios, and i have automatic updates off. i feel like my problem may be sneaky windows 10 not fully shutting down despite my power settings.

Please help me sir. My motherboard is Gigabyte A310m, When i open the power of avr, there is a power in mouse even i not yet click the power button of the computer unit. I use this process then the power still there but in a short of time. Why was that?

No sorry, that is not the same thing. I don't think Asus as this feature.

Whats actually the point of default=disabled? Consuming power, keep devices available to power on externally (wake-on-lan makes paranoid, not the coffee)? Lol, I couldn’t find a way until now, thanks anyway
