I don’t know if they still do this, but for the last three years I’ve paid for the whole year in January. 15 gigs a month for the year for around $250. The whole family for the whole year for under $900. We were paying more than twice that before. And like Travis said, the service is great.
I get better signal and faster data for about 1/3 of what AT&T was charging me and have had no service issues at all. Mint saves me a bunch of money for service that exceed my needs
Been using Mint Mobile for 5.5 years and have never once wished I wasn't. Although I'm still waiting to see what the acquisition by Tmobile is going to officially look like. Here's to hoping they don't change too much.
I tried to using MM twice and never had service. The coverage map was showing 4G and sporadic 5G.. nothing. I tried with eSIM and physical sim, neither worked. My daughter’s husband also tried it and never got service.
So not sure if you’re aware but the key here is to understand which major carrier ( Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile) the MVNO is piggybacking off of. Mint Mobile uses ONLY AT&T service as far as I’m aware. So if AT&T is known for spotty coverage in your area you need to also stay away from any MVNO that uses their service. The biggest difference between coverage with most carriers and their subsequent MVNO partners is companies like Mint strictly ONLY use AT&T towers, whereas AT&T will “roam” and use another carriers service, but your phone will never tell you this. It will say your on their “extended network” or something similar. You don’t get that with most MVNOs, ( there are a few that use multiple carriers, such as Google Fi, and Straight Talk) but you have to ask yourself is it worth paying nearly double or triple the amount for cell service, per month. Best thing to do is research who TRULY has the best coverage in your area and go with someone who uses their service. Just wanted to lend a hand if needed because I think if you can find the coverage, it’s worth the money you save.
My AT&T bill had become ridiculous. Over $200/month for two lines. And that’s using a discount from my employer. Mint has been great. I don’t notice any difference.
We've been Mint customers for 3 years. My two sons and I have been very pleased with their service and the prices can't be beat. My husband is trying to get his employer to switch their phones to Mint. We've never had any problems with coverage, service etc.
You didn’t mention the 60GB Unnecessary plan, a step above the Unlimited one. It comes with 20GB of hotspot. 3 months is $150 plus tax/fees, then 3 months free. A great deal, especially if u use a VPN for unthrottled streaming. Expect unlimited high speed internet when they’re purchased by TMO, not to mention the ability to display 5G UC on iPhones when they’re allowed off of the current MVNO carrier profile. In other words, expect them to be like MNOs Metro, Cricket and Visible at that time.
I switched from ATT 2 months ago, exactly like he said. Download the app, you'll have to 'unlock your phone' which is easy, just google it(ATT unlock iphone). Setup a Mint account and follow the steps. I brought my ATT Iphone and my # from ATT, all in the time I took a walk(literally, I started taking a walk outside.... 15 minutes later when I got home, I switched carriers in my iphone settings and was using Mint. I had ATT so long that it was basically prepaid, 18+ years, so when I asked them to unlock my number AND my phone, they just canceled my plan for me. LOL, not even lying). Switch, it will be the easiest money saved, ever.
Just renewed for my third year with them, pay for the whole year on the lowest plan. So it's 201.95 for the whole year. There are people out there that pay that amount a month. I don't use my phone that much, sometimes I forget to take it when I leave the house, so the lowest plan is fine. Now the only issue I had was in Oct of this year. Went to visit parents in Wisconsin (live in Georgia) and kept losing signal. I wrote it off as I have an older 4G phone (no 5G) and that was the issue. As soon as I was on the interstate driving home, it was fine again.
I had Metro for almost 10 years , switched to mint and it was well worth it , I'm on the unnecessary plan plenty of data to spend never had a problem , switch to mint
Switched from t mobile to Mint 3 months ago and there is absolutely no difference in service. For 3 phones I pay 60 bucks a month, that's down from 150. Definitely worth switching.
- My question is heavily to do on pricing mainly, and my confusion is with the "Unlimited" plan the upfront cost is around $90 (Plus 3 months Free) i just don't understand after the 3 months are up what price do i pay? is it $360 or is it $40 I don't want to have to pay for a ridiculous price
Fan of Googlefi also an mvno... With the latest Qualcomm modem my ability to use a cellphone as a phone has never been better.. not sure the difference between mint and Googlefi if anyone else has experience..
Hello, I’m currently with a major carrier “T-Mobile” I’m interested in switching, using my currently iPhone 12 Pro Max. Will I be able to keep my old number or will I have to get a new one ?? Thanks
You should be able to call T-Mobile and tell them you want to move your number to Mint. They should be able to give you a PIN that you will use to transfer your current phone number to Mint during the activation of your Mint SIM. If you use your phone enough and consume enough media over 5G, just stick with T-Mobile.
Mint's (T-Mobile) coverage really needs to be better. If your definition of middle of nowhere is out on a farm or a cabin in the woods, then forget it. You're better off with Verizon or Visible.
Whatever the special is you can be sure of one thing, it is only for new customers. Existing customers who are looking to re-up get absolutely nothing, which is why I ported out of mint today.
I've had Mint for a few years now and like it. But I am concerned about what will happen since they were bought by T-Mobile, because prices could go up. I disagree about getting the unlimited plan because even if you go over you they just slow the speed down. I have rarely ever gone over the 5GB with the $15 plan.
@@TravisMCP Thanks Travis. What about GPS? I know internet is sometimes used for maps. Have you had any issues using a map program like water or Google maps with their network?
I had mint mobile for half a week. Worst phone service I've ever had. I live in an area where apparently it's got great coverage all around but, I couldn't send/receive calls or texts. Wifi calling was non existent. Couldn't even use data. Tried for days with customer service to get things fixed, in the end they just offered a refund.

Same. AT&T was charging me more for data most of it I did not even use than Mint charges for their entire service.
SAME! 2 months of ATT is 1 year of mint. LOL. I'm sad I didn't switch sooner!
AT&T have always been ripping people off I dropped them 20 years back and will never join up with them ever again
Can i keep the same number?? I have ATT pre paid. No contact

Years on mint mobile. No issues and it is cheap. I also use Visible.
I’ve have AT&T and the price has gone up from $79 to $120 a month for 2 phones. Thanks for the information

Mint is extremely deprioritize now
No service in crowder places what a mess

Why did you go to T-Mobile? I've been thinking of doing the opposite. T-Mobile to mint
@@Tinfoiltomcat Exactly. Same for me thinking TMobile to Mint.
Always good to see a new video from Travis
I appreciate that!
What about service in rural areas? Great service and a hotspot is a necessity out here where there's no internet.
Better forget mint then. Especially out in rural towns

Love your vids. Nice to see stuff from you.
Being in Toronto I can't get mint (dammit)
But i'm gonna ask:
which apple watch case are you using?
Currently the Apple Silicon. But if you have a chance, check out Technically Tee here on YT. He has MUCH better options.

They have been owned for a while, if nothing has changed yet, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
The T-Mobile sale has been delayed.
@@TravisMCP let us hope.
Whatabout oregon, oregon looked pretty f****d for service unless you live in a specific area

WTF To That! 😁
In fairness those weren't mine. I would have never done that lol
Is mint mobile 4g or 5g? Is the signal reliable for even using gps on the highways compared to t mobile?
5G. Uses the same network as T-Mobile so you get the same coverage.
@@TravisMCP Thanks Travis. What about GPS? I know internet is sometimes used for maps. Have you had any issues using a map program like water or Google maps with their network?
@@knightrcer Nope, no problems. Same network as T-mo so I've been good, but check the coverage map for your area first.
@@TravisMCP Cool, thank you very much. I still miss your intro.
Not sure if you planned it, but a Mint Mobile ad played right after the video. :)
I didn't lol
Another nice informative video sir.
Travis did you go back to Android? I just saw you talking on a Samsung in that video.
Nope. Still on iPhone
Ok just checkin’ cuz apparently as you go I go! 🤣🤣🤣
Been on Mint for 2 years and have not looked back…Mint, don't change…👍
Travis my guy you are the real MVP! I have Verizon and my bill is 140/month includes my phone and tablet. This is going to save me soooo much money 🤑

Most service reps offer jokes for assistance. One guy suggest turning on airplane during the call. I think it was close to shift change there.
Okay let’s be real T-Mobile uses 5G that isn’t much fast at all. It’s a few megabits faster than 4G lte
I get over 500mbps like I showed in the video.
