I used to be an English teacher. One year, we got a new librarian who refused to allow kids into the library, not even classes with teachers escorting them in to teach them. Luckily, I had a small in-room library that I had gotten a grant for. So my kids did have access to some books that year. My kids were aware of my feelings about the library situation because they knew how much I love books. So when the book fair happened & the library was available for everyone to buy books from that selected only, I found a children’s book that was about an evil librarian who was a dragon & read it to all of my students. They laughed so freaking hard at that. 😹😹😹
My school for some reason makes us stay out of the school till 8:00 witch may not seem like a problem but people arrive on average at about 7:30 so we all have to sit at the door (you can’t go anywhere else but the door for the whole time) and finally go in.
Lawyer but not practicing attorney here. The reason for zero tolerance being common has nothing to do with fights directly or protecting students. It's to protect school officials. If you're in a public school, than any adjudication a school teacher or other official makes is a discretionary one and can be sued on the basis of something like discrimination. I.E. teacher sees a fight. Says Timmy started it and must be suspended. Timmy's parents sue because Timmy gets these a lot so clearly the school personnel have it in for Timmy and wants to recover damages and get people fired. Now, the schools almost always win these, but even the process to investigate these kinds of nuisance lawsuits get expensive and disruptive really quickly. Cue in Zero-tolerance policies. At this point, there is no professional discretion from the school personnel. There's a policy, and they enforce it blindly and stupidly. Any legal challenge to it would have to be on the level of challenging the policy itself, which means that investigations of such would be in the realm of paperwork and take place at the school board, not the day to day campus activities. They're a lot less onerous. So yeah, schools are okay with more children being beaten up and fights getting worse if it protects them from legal nuisance investigations.
My 2rd elementary school banned running at recess. Yes actually. Then when kids talked too much and cursed out administrators, they banned talking. We had to whisper. That lasted maybe 2 weeks before parents went crazy
I thought that running rule was normal. That was the rule at *every* school I went to as a child! For that matter, so was the whispering rule. I find myself wondering if perhaps we went to the same school?
I went to elementary school in Minnesota and we couldn't play in the snow if you didnt have snow pants and boots which sucked if your parents were neglectful
My school didn't allow us to wear other school T-shirts, i can tell this rule was put in for fun, but really, it's not. My middle school needs to SNAP BACK TO REALITY
school had banned talking during classes, and i mean ALL classes you wanted to learn french? well to bad timmy the only class that had found a loophole was the computer class cause they could just communicate using a group chat on their phones (the school allowed phones during computer cause of google or something) after about a week of the french class playing tic-tac-toe on the whiteboard the school removed the rule
I was called to the high school when my daughter was 15 or 16 because she had punched an 18 y/o male. I asjed HER what had happened, and he had 'popped' her bra strap. They were going to suspend her for a week. I asked kind of punishment they were giving the guy. I was told nothing because he had a bloody nose. I looked at them and told them if they dared to suspend my daughter for defending herself for SA and letting the perpetrator off without punishment, I would be finding a lawyer. I told them I was taking legal courses at the time, and since instructors were ALL working attorneys so I could easily get one and press charges on the schoolas well. My daughter did not even get In School Suspension, but he was expelled.
My school had something against ranch. A lot of us loved putting it on their pizza when we had pizza but the school didn't allow that and told us as much, they said it was only for salad. That never stopped anyone and then ranch got banned altogether even if you brought it from home. I never really got it since not all the lunches we had were exactly healthy and we had pop machines in the school.
My former school banned the color blue because is was gang related. This was a small farming town with gossiping church ladies who knew what everybody was doing. What gang activity? I knew it was ridiculous and actually encouraged a student at the time to wear blue anyway as a form of nonviolent protest. I pointed out the school itself would be in trouble for sporting the American flag! Also, what kind of principal thinks "signing is too loud"? He does know humans are social animals right? We talk!
I had a male teacher in 9th grade (jr high in my town) make a comment about the length of my shorts while I was sitting down. They were the uniform shorts for our high school marching band. I was over it with him so my response was to stand up and ask "are these too short?" As they fell right below my knee cap and our school rule was they had to be past your middle finger with your arms down at your sode at the shortest. I made enough of a scene in the middle of class that he never tried to dress code anyone in our class again. On an unrelated note he left the at the end of my 10th grade year and I was his first or second year in my school district Edit: id worm these shorts many times before to school and even while sitting down they were maybe 1/2 and inch shorter than the dress code rule. Everyone knew if I'd gotten sent to the office it wouldn't have done anything as the principal has been known to let people slide with shorts 1/2 an inch above the rule while standing up
My school took off the bathroom doors so when you walked into the bathroom and the locker rooms, the doorway was right in front of the changing area so kids would just strip naked in front of the door and change lasted about two days before they put the door back up They took it away because a group of us did a massive hotbox with no nicotine box mods, and just made it cloud and then tossed them in the ceiling above the tiles so when they came to us, no one had anything😂 still got suspended for a week Mom was pissed pretty sure they found the vapes and blamed them on one kid because he got suspended and moved away without ever talking to us
I have a story for you my school in Middle School gave me detention for saying Merry Christmas instead of saying happy holidays they did this after me going to school there for about 3 years and then for some reason they passed a a rule in school that you have to say happy holidays because of people's religion they didn't tell the students ahead of time and there is about 10 students that got detention for saying Merry Christmas in detention is the school in Florida around 2007 to 2008 2008 I was out of school and went to high school

Now see I hate English, but a teacher like you would make it so much fun!
What’s the point of the library if you can’t use it? And with that in mind what benefits did that bring to her job? Nothing
“Oh I am weak to women” that was hilarious

The water bottle one was fucking hilarious!🤣
The outrageous continous escalation by the students, and the stupidity of the principal!
Story 5: What do you expect! They have "things" they go through and you can't blame them for it. The dean had it coming.
Agreed
My 2rd elementary school banned running at recess. Yes actually. Then when kids talked too much and cursed out administrators, they banned talking. We had to whisper. That lasted maybe 2 weeks before parents went crazy
Nah that sounds like that one prison where they won't let you talk, and if you do they pump you full of hallucinogen drugs 💀

The skirts story was hilarious 😂😂

I finally found this channel after watching almost every video on the main channel (during school lmao I got in trouble only once lol)

Am I wrong to say that I can’t wait for the older generations to be gone so we can stop having all these crappy old timey rules
THIS IS THE 3RD CHANNEL IVE FOUND OWNED BY THIS GUY

My school banned shadow boxing💀
That's actually understandable
whats the minecraft map / server?
story 4: lets be honest, the real reason they wanted the ID's on the kids was to identify them faster after the school shooting
