1978. I was 16. Lakewood Play House, Barnesville, PA. Summer stock theater. Yeah, it was an experience. I was dragged (willingly) up to the stage to dance after the show. Good times!!!!

I did Hair in Atlantic City, we didn't do nude, wore flesh colored g strings..low lighting and fog..so you saw tush but no bush!( this was in 1976)..so show was still a hot ticket.

Hair is one of those classic shows I've never seen but the music comes in & out of my life at the strangest times. Hoping I'll catch a production of it someday. I have to say though this theater is beautiful & I really dig the design on the seat backs. I can see why it was such a great space for BMC to premiere.

I saw the 2nd National tour in '71 or '72. I remember my mother saying that I didn't know what half the words meant (song: Sodomy), which I defiantly disagreed. LOL! She was right of course. I also very clearly remember the nude scene. But the most memorable moment was when Claude suddenly showed up with short hair after deciding to go to Vietnam. Took my breath away.
Later, Hair was the first show I ever produced. We produced it in an active church in Denver. We didn't do the nude scene, but as I consider Hair a very spiritual piece (obviously) full of existential questions, the church was a powerful venue. I remember the reviewer said it was just a bunch of bratty wasted kids. Well, yes, that's kinda true on some level, so I guess we were true to the piece. :)

Interested in hearing you and MickeyJo's opinion on this...? I 'saw' this production from San Diego (slightly different cast), and I also saw the Hope Mill production on tour in 2018 (I think?). Very different interpretations

I saw the first preview of this production on 9/30. It was part of a 4 show weekend that also included The Shark Is Broken, Little Shop of Horrors and Purlie Victorious as well as the Broadway Flea Market. Two River Theater was a bit out of the way, but I thought it was worth the trip. I really liked the theater. There wasn't a bad seat in the entire venue.

The first time I saw HAIR was visiting my High School as an alum (a performing arts HS) so no nudity in that one! After that, I saw the Diane Paulus production in Central Park and two more times on Broadway.

How did you get there? Will that be in MickeyJo vlog documenting your recent visit? Really interested in your travel to other theaters.
