- A major snowstorm is taking aim at the Central United States, the Tennessee Valley, and the Mid-Atlantic, bringing heavy snow, powerful winds, and dangerous winter conditions. In this video, we break down the latest storm track and provide detailed forecasts for cities in the path of this massive winter system. Areas of the Central U.S. are expected to experience significant snowfall accumulations, with up to 12 inches of snow possible in some locations. The Tennessee Valley will see heavy snow and freezing rain, while the Mid-Atlantic prepares for slippery roads and potentially hazardous travel conditions.
One of the most concerning aspects of this storm is the heavy ice potential in parts of Southern Missouri, where freezing rain could lead to widespread power outages and treacherous travel conditions. The ice will add an extra layer of danger to the storm's impacts, as slick roads and downed trees could make for a hazardous 48 hours. We'll also highlight the key timing and location of the storm, as well as give tips on how to stay safe during winter weather events.

Looks like Ohio could get a decent amount of snow out of this
So Houston Texas still has a chance?
For sure a chance of cold air. The snow chances are possible as well but it’s too far out to say. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for snow yet.
@ alright I’ll be ready!

Does Fayetteville Arkansas have a chance of snow?
There’s a chance for ice and snow, but we won’t really know too much more until middle of this week. I’ll keep you posted!
I sure hope it's not going to be another 1994 ice in 1982 a lot of snow here in Tennessee
Can it snow in the middle of Alabama? I hope to see snow for the first time.
There will definitely be colder than avg temperatures. But nothing right now looks promising for snow in central Alabama. I’ll keep you updated
@@Weather101 thank you
Im here a day later what would you say today on the risk for northeast Oklahoma for ice or snow?
I’d say it’s possible but I personally feel like once this system moves on shore, it will gather a northern bias, in my experience this tends to happen a lot. But as of right now there is definitely a chance for northern Oklahoma!
@ ok thank you! 😊
I'm from Fairview Tennessee it's got a bite in the air at 48 degrees wind blows about to take my breath
I’m getting similar Weather to you today, and it’s very cold! Wind makes it miserable!
I'm in Memphis and I'm not buying the GFS. It always seems to have a southern bias
I would agree. I think once the system moves on land the models will start to show more northern solutions.
Aw man, I'm in Memphis and I have been wanting snow FOREVER . I checked google weather and there is chance of snow/sleet on Monday, is this accurate?
