Tinkerbell is protecting the children who created herself and her friends and if the Lost Boys grow up and stop believing, the fairies die. So, we're weighing one little girl against an entire race? The calculus isn't that hard.
Creatures must be willing to do even the most unpleasant things in order to survive. Especially in a swiftly evolving world.
In the description of the video is the backstory for the song.
But in Canon, due to how small fairies are they can only experience one emotion at a time, and very strongly, so that's why she's so intense.
Also fairies are born from a child's first laugh and their existence relies on humans believing that fairies exist. It takes place during the industrial revolution, people start using science, and believe less in stuff like fairies.
For the song the idea was that instead of depending on humanity as a whole, a fairies life depends on the child whose laugh created them. When the child grows up and stops believing the fairy dies. Tink has seen most of her friends die. Then she had the idea of finding the children their connected to and bringing them to neverland, where they wouldn't grow up and stop believing, as such ensuring their own survival. That's who Peter Pan and the lost boys are, the children connected to tinks remaining friends and family. And Wendy makes them want to go back and grow up, which would lead to the fairies death, so tinks fight against Wendy is literally a fight for the survival of her and her friends. And with how mature Wendy is, it is likely that she had stopped believing and her own fairy is dead.
I would love to have a studio develop Lydia's idea into a movie.
Annnnnd before science people use to go their whole life believing in fairy’s! So imagine a your populations going from 70 years to 7 years.
I always wondered why Tink seemed to be soo…well mean in the original.
Then I looked up the lore and it all makes sense.
If I was in that universe I probably wouldn’t want to forget about the existence of a fairy if I knew their life depended on it.

The pacing you mentioned is due to the time signature. Most mainstream music uses 4/4 (4 beats to each bar); I may be wrong but this feels more like it's in 6/8 to give it that swing.
Tinkerbell was literally one step away from being a villain. Honestly, she was the first fairy I remember being scared of...now any sort of fae or fair folk I am wary of...this was incredible, I love the lyrics and the music...it was all so so well done!!

That’s also my favorite line of the lyrics, it’s powerful, if you know Peter Pan, it hits you immediately, you get what’s going to happen, I barely see anyone mention that callback to how you can fly and how Lydia did it in this epic way

I have fallen behind on watching my favourite content creators, and so I haven't seen many of your videos recently :( But with how quick I clicked on this when I did finally see it, I'm glad to be bad. I liked Lydia's stuff before this song, but then this came out I loved it, it and Don't Cry for your Daughters Eve have been on repeat since they came out.

So the girl that you said was poisoned by tink, that wasnt the case, what happened was that fairy was her sister who was dying because the child that the sister was conected to started not believing tink was trying to save her sister, and then after her sister dies the fairies went out to try to find the children their connected to take them to Neverland so then there wouldn't be nore of them die
That's not her sister, that's a friend of Tinkerbells, the animal fairy Fawn. Tink and her sister were both born from the same child, so if she were dying there Tink would be dead too. Everything else is accurate though!

The other other fairies are canon inbthe disney fairies series, a book series that eventually evolved into the Tinkerbell movies. Its alright.
