- Now, this is a story all about how my mix got filled and is crashing down, so if I never take some measures against bad luck, my music would look like a clusterfu... uh, well, clusters of voices which layer on top of each other.
I'm here again, and this is the limit. Composed once with a little 7-string guzheng that I have for some time. This is definitely the limit, the point where it's time to stop expanding my style and, I think, go the opposite direction. See, I became so interested in huge symphonic-like textures I can now barely hold them with my compressor and the final mix sounds quieter than I wished. Probably it's the contrabass. In the near future, I'll try to do something with it - maybe compress it in a least painful way.
For now, I'm seriously considering to sell it and to get a bass guitar (I sold my previous one), which would not stand in everyone's way as a very individualistic instrument with space and which is best when opened fully. Yet I'm trying to sell the contrabass for more than three weeks and still get no results.
Maybe the fortune would be kind to me and either I'll get rid of the contrabass, or I'll have to go further in a much more simplicistic way, so both the bass sound would open and everything would rely on it. After all, I love playing and listening to the contrabass.
Oh, and we also have a new harmonium. And duduk. And Roland synthesizer (hardware, digital).
And that bizarre thing that probably could be found only in Russia: an inexpensive and non-master-built robust classical guitar with steel strings. And no truss rod. Yes, we in Russia do have such guitars, to quench the people's nostalgia for Soviet guitars that were basically this: classical-looking body with steel strings. Still, modern Russian guitars are actually much better.
