Nice tribute❤ thank you. Brother of my grandfather was sgt. Josef Albrecht, air gunner in 311. squadron on Wellington. He was killed in action 17. 10. 1940 after Kiel air raid. Miroslav Čtvrtlík (listed at the end of the video among the fallen) was his friend and lived not far from us. Best regards from Czech republic 🇨🇿🇬🇧
Dear Marek, I hope you are well. I have just published another film on the 311 Sqn, men from 1943, if of interest to you: ruclips.net/video/Pn8iVLj7Hm8/видео.html
Hi mate, that's really nice to hear. My videos like this can be a little niche, but hopefully interest some so I love to hear that your dad does thank you.
Unfortunately not, but the topic of Czechoslovaks in the RAF is close to me because I am Czech. I don't know of anyone from my family who served in the RAF. I am glad that thanks to such heroes we can live today.
Fantastic tribute Marc and the detail given of the bravery of the Czechoslovak Air Force 311 Squadron fighting for all our freedom out of Beaulieu in their Liberators, very informative .These efforts ensure we will always remember them.
Thank you Ian, went I recorded this I wasn't sure it would really be of interest to many people, but so glad it's being watched and getting kind comments, even if by a handful. They were a brave lot!
@@TrexplorerUK my father, Sargent Hanus Peter Vogel was in 311 based in Tain, Scotland, flying anti sub patrols. He did his OTU in the Bahamas. Not the worst place in the world to do his training as a wireless operator/ gunner. Before his death in 2005, he was promoted to Wing Commander. A nice touch by the Czech government.
@@TrexplorerUK After he died, I was lucky enough to have a chat by email with one of the last surviving members of 311 Squadron. That was a fantastic thrill. I also sometimes meet up with the son of my father's pilot, Milos Safranek. I met Milos when I was a kid. He was famous for flying so low that the crew never bothered taking parachutes with them on patrol as there was no point in having them!
A wonderful tribute Marc, beautifully done, my Dad, F/Lt Jaroslav Liska, is second left at 17 to 20 seconds
Thank you :-)
