OH MY GOSH!!! amazing, amazing, amazing!! that was so fun, and so totally accurate. i actually learned a ton about myself both taking the quiz and watching your video. I also love that you gave examples of other creators in the YT planner space because it helped me understand the different types - and my own style - a whole lot more. and i'm excited to go watch more content from those creators too! I'm a scientist planner and proud of it! thanks for making me more sure of myself and comfortable in my own style.
Totally in the artist square here! (and my personal queens are certainly Helen coffeemonsterzco and Elisabeth from plant based bride 🤣) I feel your test seems pretty interesting ^^
Scientist here - love this quiz! So accurate!! I’m realizing that the search for “planner peace” may be a ‘scientist’ thing 😂 and we’ll never find it because we keep changing the finish line as we change! 😂 But actually - for me - the peace is found in being ok with changing things and not having to have one thing that works forever. 💖
Right!! I think planner peace is a myth, at least for me, and thats why bullet journals were so great for me for so long. I can change it every week, no problem, and its ok it the system only works for a month. There are hundreds of ways to set up a planner, so I'll never be bored!
@@VanCrane I have black in many different sizes pens, blue gel pen and mechanical pencil. Highlighters, Markers, colored pencils, washi tape and stamps. I don’t buy stickers I like to use the same stamp throughout the whole book.
OMG this is so accurate : I am in the scientist square. I use Minimal deco and tools but my layouts change pretty frequently as my planning system (digital, bujo, spiral, rings, A5 or personal…) I try a lot 😅 for the purpose of efficiency. Thank you for taking the time to do it.
I think if there was a z axis, it’d be something along the lines of journaling/memory keeping v planning or past-facing v future-facing. I feel like some people view their books more as documents for posterity/places to reflect and others see them as a purely forward-facing tool with to-dos, goals, scheduling etc. and then I guess morning pages/stream of consciousness stuff would be right in the middle lol. You could say this is similar to the functionality axis, but I think it’s a slightly different (but important!) vector to get clear on when starting a planner or journaling system. I think there’s so much value in both approaches! Loved this video, got me thinking clearly haha
This is so illuminating! I came out a minimalist on the quiz, which I guessed from watching the video. But the challenge comes when I think I should be a maximalist or artist because I admire those spreads but never seem to be able to make them workout myself. And I do appreciate beauty. This year, I decide I want my planner to look elegant so that might be the perfect fit for a minimalist. Now I can relax and be a minimalist without feeling pressure to be something else.
I'm 75% Scientist, 58% Maximalist, and 42% each Artist and Minimalist. Definitely agree with this assessment. I have ADHD, so consistency is impossible for me. I have to keep experimenting to make sure my planning system stays functional, otherwise I'll eventually just stop planning altogether. The maximalist side of me LOVES having several different sets of pens, markers, highlighters, washi tapes, stickers, etc. However, I have whittled down my collection somewhat, and now I'm currently keeping most of my decorative stuff and pen sets at home to avoid lugging so much around (I used to try to carry as much with me as possible!). I consistently gravitate toward systems that are flexible lol. I almost always have a traveler's notebook in my lineup, as well as a simple spiral notebook or journal. I hop in and out of disc-bound and ring-bound planners quite a lot, and without Google Calendar and other apps, my appointments and reminders would get lost in the shuffle. Finally, Frixion pens, markers, and highlighters are a must-have in this household. I don't know how I ever lived without them! The newest addition to my lineup is the Rocketbook Panda Planner. I love the ability to erase and reuse the pages. However, it doesn't work well for on-the-go planning because you have to use water to erase the Frixion ink, and I'm so used to using the erasers with Frixion on regular paper that I'm afraid I might forget and damage the Rocketbook paper! So, I've decided to use it for goal planning, since many of the pages are designed for that specifically. Right now, I have my lineup set for 2023, but I don't expect it to stay the same throughout the year. The only thing that will probably stay the same will be my color code, which I've managed to keep mostly the same for several years. And even that could change at some point! lol Happy holidays, everyone! 🎄✨🎊
I relate with most of it!! Haha!! 😄😄 But I don't like using frixion pens only because the idea that they are not permanent, so they may not last long when I keep the books for memory keeping, drives me crazy 🤣😂🤣😂
I’m a scientist - crossed with a minimalist. I have yet to find a planner - paper or digital - that does everything I want it to. So now I make my own digital “planner” so I can add extra pages whenever and wherever I need them. Sometimes I use the same layouts for months - but more often I have some layouts that stay the same (like the month layout) and others that can change wildly from one day to the next (like the daily and weekly layouts). I also like to write - a lot - so I tend to need LOTS of space for daily pages as I typically use up several pages per day. Hence the difficulty with paper planners as they are rarely designed to accommodate that sort of thing. Have tried a paper bullet journal but didn’t necessarily love the visual chaos that ensued when I changed everything every other day. And I use basically zero art. No artistic skills whatsoever and it is not something that interests me. I do love looking at (and buying) all sorts of planners to see if I pick up anything else that might work for me.
I'm not good with digital but binder type planners or discbound planners give me the option to reorganize the pages how I want, add what I want and take out what I want. I want to be digital so I got the Galaxy Note, but so far I just use it for grocery lists 😅
I'm a scientist! And I have never seen a graph illustrate my personality so well. I got 42% scientist and 42% artist- because, I am an artist. At the beginning of my planner journey I really struggled to have both functionality and pretty handmade drawings. I'm primarily a bullet journaler but a minimalist with no decorative elements and that's because I was zapping my creativity dry. All of it went to experimentation and drawings in my bullet journal. I basically had to sit down with myself and have a nice long talk about my priorities. What was more important to me? A pretty planner? Or a functional one? I had to switch up my planning style and layouts almost yearly due to various changes in my life. I had to keep detailed trackers and notes that I had to change as my life changed. That's the scientist in me. Super fun quiz! Thanks for making it!
I got the minimalist, and I’m not surprised! One thing I enjoy about your quiz is that you have the graph with percentages of how much of each type you are. No one likes being “put in a box”, so having those percentages of each type there is encouraging to know if I ever wanted to shift my planning style, I have a framework for the best types of planning that might work for me :) love your videos!
58% artist, 50% maximalist, 42% scientist, and 25% minimalist. All of it is pretty bang on, to be honest! It's funny though, because I love looking at minimalist spreads and ideas because they make my eyes so happy, but in reality, I'm a chaotic, messy, receipt-collaging train wreck of a planner :p I've fully embraced the imperfection side of things with my messy-ass planners.
I got minimalist! Very accurate:) I use a minimal amount of supplies. My spreads are very simple, each page has a to do/reminders, meal tracking, and the rest is for entries whether that’s how my day is going, something I learned, or maybe a quote. I definitely decorate, putting some stickers or receipts here and there, but nothing that’ll distract me from writing my entries:) I also stick with the same supplies and journals whenever it’s time to get a new one! Great job on creating the quiz Rachelle!
Good morning and happy holidays to all!!! I scored at 67 in the maximalist. Which is actually pretty spot on but never realized it. Thank you for the insight.
The Minimalist! I try to go artistic, but I can only keep it up for so long. The Common Planner has met every need, and even ones I didn't know I had! The structure of monthly/weekly, with the freedom of what I need from dailies. I don't like my journalling to be in the same place with my to-do's because I leave my planner open on my desk.
Damn, I missed the quiz :(( But it's funny to see my Weeks for work, which I prefer to be pretty minimalist. But then my Cousin for my personal life is just chaos as a Maximalist because I love trying out new things like watercolor, inks, pens, stickers, washi tapes, etc to keep my lil ADHD brain excited and happy, and it actually helps keep my journaling habit consistent. But I hope to evolve into an Artist at some point because I'll look back at some spreads sometimes and go "Wow, did I really need to border the entire page with washi tape? 🤦♀" LOL PS, I love your vids, Rachelle. In December, after just three months of using the Hobonichi for the first time, I felt my interest waning. But I stumbled upon a few of your videos, and it re-lit that excitement I have for all things journaling and planning
Don't come at me, I am not hating, this is just my opinion. I like the two axes: one for amount of decoration, and one for amount of structure. However, there needs to be a third dimension for time to fully describe what is being called "planning" on RUclips since it includes things like memory keeping, journaling, and straight up note-taking (eg, commonplace) which are the opposite of planning. In my brain I call what all of these people do "Plan+" because it starts with planning but is so much more. I'm not saying you can't have stickers and ephemera in a planner, and I'm not saying you can't track multiple things in one physical catch-all book/cover that you carry around and refer to as "your brain on paper". I'm saying *I* can't do that. I did not achieve "planner peace" until I realized that I need to separate my planning from multiple other books for different topics and needs. My planner is minimalist, structured, focused, and functional. Occasionally I'll be in a whimsical mood and put stickers in, but I am much more likely to put the stickers in my journal or sketchbook because that's what I will be looking back on later in life - not the book that lists all my work tasks and household chores from the year I was 51. But that's what works for me. You do you.
Lisa I actually completely agree with you on this. My invisible Z axis on this graph goes from journaling to planning, but since that's harder to draw and get my head around I figure people can just figure out which one they are at either end of the spectrum. :) Thanks for the comment!
I’m a minimalist (kinda already knew that!). I like consistency, an easy to work with layout, and the ability to write my tasks and memories with a touch of deco.
I got the scientist and I would say that's correct. I'm huge on tweaking small things until I've made something super functional, and then making more small changes as the need arises in my life. I'm overly detail-oriented to the fault. I really like that you had sliders and such, and the percentages of the types. The only question I didn't care for was "It’s important to me that my spreads are easy to replicate week to week and month to month, because my decoration style changes so much." because it felt unclear. For example, it's important to me that my spreads are relatively easy to replicate because I have very severe ADHD, but I don't base my layouts on potential decor at all. I selected the spot around 25% but felt unsure at which half of the question was more important.
Tied for Maximalist & The Artist! It is also very accurate my functionality needs vary a lot depending on my mood and ADHD stuff but I do love to decorate.
@@RachelleinTheory since my system is fairly consistent - I do like to switch up what I’m planning in for sure, so it works for your type setup! Who doesn’t love a new planner to figure out the best way to use
I got 45% maximalist but 33% on both minimalist and artist. I have a bullet journal and I like to try new things and adapt it to my needs as well as decorate with markers, but when I'm busy or deep into the school year I always fall back on the same spreads every month with different colors and fonts. I would even say that over breaks in school I'm the scientist because I don't set up nice pretty weekly spreads, but it's always the time I question my layouts and change them up.
I am a Maximalists.....🤔very, very interesting. How come you decided to do this? I am very curious, you the first person that has this approach and it makes a lot of sense....once I saw my graph, I realized the graph is actually very realistic. Well Done 👏 🥰
Thanks Dorothea! I felt like everyone always put decorations and functional planning against each other when talking about planner styles, so I wanted to make a planner style type of graph that took both into account (because super aesthetic spreads can still be functional)! A quiz felt like the natural next step so people could engage with it in a more fun way especially for the holidays :)
I’m a scientist as I love playing and trying things out! Although I am an artist, my planner personality is all about trying systems and finding what works for me! ❤️
I found my buddy! I'm an art director. I am a scientist as well with minimal supplies (I have a lot of supplies, just not in use in my planner). My planner is also all about what works for me and I will experiment with a variety of layouts to find what works for me. 😀
I’m totally a SCIENTIST!!! And I actually am a scientist, too! 😆 PERFECT Planner Matrix! Love it! ❤ I have been using Traveller’s Notebook and Hobonichi Cousin. But started using Field Notes for travel mini-journaling and plan to switch to Sterling Ink Commonplanner in horizontal layout next year. I hope they don’t sell out in the A5! 🤞🤞🤞
Gosh darnit, missed out on the quiz. Based on what I'm doing with my planner and my wall calendar though, I've gone from a more artistic approach towards minimalism. I used to use planner stickers to help my children visualize our schedule when they couldn't read. Now, those stickers are more for fun to indicate birthdays or holidays, not really fill in the whole planner with. My favorite planner layout has been a Moleskine weekly spread (Mon-Sun on left page, blank ruled page for notes on right) since pretty much 20 years ago, I've regretted "cheating" on my favorite planner layout every time. Moleskine changed away from quality paper in the past few years, so my preferred pens were bleeding through the page, a big no-no. These days I pick up a generic brand planner of a similar layout. Many newer ones come with a to-do list or habit tracker or list, and I'm not sure how much I like it. I'm somewhere between a minimalist and artist. The basic planner helps me manage a family of 6, a farm, garden, homeschool and homeschool co-op participation, and tech startup stuff. I use a fine-tipped Pentel R.S.V.P. ballpoint, and Midliner highlighters in a range of colors to color code everything. There is no legend for the color coding. Each family member's favorite color for them, and task and events I like or dislike tend to be reflected in my choice of color. My in-laws visiting starting this week is marked in my calendar in a kind of a 💩- shade, while my birthday next week is bright and cheerful peachy pinks.
I only discovered this video today - BUT I AGREE: Different styles for different times! As a student, very much artsy and maximalist, for work I love minimalist and for personal/hobbies I love scientist meets artsy
I took the test and scored 50% minimalist, 50% artist and 42% scientist lol... I don't do well on personality tests in general though.. I usually score as everything. This was fun though!
I got the Artist 67% Maximalist 33% Minimalist 25% (where did this extra 25% come from?) and the Scientist has no number so I guess that would be 0? This is super accurate! I definitely use the exact same weekly and month layouts in my bullet journal. I used to use pre-made planners and would use different ones year to year because I wasn't finding one that worked in all aspects and that's why I started bullet journalling. I just took all the elements I loved from planners and customized it to work best for my life. I love creating art so I like my bullet journal to be aesthetic and functional.
I got The Artist, which is interesting because lately my planner has been much more minimalist due to time constraints. Goes to show that I could benefit from some more quality deco time!
I'm a bit confused on my type, even though I also took the test! I like changing planners and notebooks (for both journaling and planning). But, at the same time I'm consistent in how I use each one whenever I am in it. For example, I have a specific way I may use the hobonichi weeks layout if I'm now planning in it or I have another specific way I write in the Moleskine daily Large if I use this one instead of the other. So I change frequently the printed let's say format but I'm consistent in each format (I think I super confused whoever is reading this lol 🤣😂 ) I change the decoration, which varies from minimilist to maximalist. So, am I an "artist" or a "scientist" ?? Also, I think that the artist examples you put in the video that where bullet journalers were inconsistent in the layouts and consistent in the decorating style in my opinion!! They wouldn't change the deco style completely like collaging in vintage style while the previous month they were drawing and then collaging in kawaii style after the previous two styles etc. On the other hand, the would change the way the layout the monthlies or weeklies etc from month to month. Hm, I think that each person is more likely a dot in the chart altogether instead of being part of 1/4 of it which is very very vast. Maybe that's what I want to say in the end 🤔 !! Haha
Minimalist here and the quiz was accurate. I have tried to be the opposite, but it doesn't work for me. I have ADHD and like to keep it simple and functional.
Your quiz put me as a maximalist but I don't know if that is really accurate. I scored low on the consistency axis because I have not yet found a system that I use consistently. I keep trying new things. I scored high on the decorations axis because I *have* a ton of supplies...markers, inks, Washi tape, pens, ribbons, ephemera, stamps, seals, papers...but I rarely use it. I *want* to be artistic, but I am not.
I think i would swap the title (but not the meaning) of maximalist and artist... Only cause to me, an artist is creative in most areas. But that's just im interpretation! What a fun system! I am having such a good time with this video... I think I'm a scientist? But might be minimalist? I straddle a few of these at different times.. When im moving into a new system im 100% a scientist. I prefer to build my planner from the ground up in a stalogy (because thin paper!). I explore all the things i think ill need. They ill play and play and play and play and play until i find a system of layouts that gives me enough room to do what i want in the order i want while reducing the risk of wasting pages. Because i function best in one planner, designed exactly to my specifications that ive drawn out myself. After its drawn up and ready to go, i decorate the whole thing. With water colours and one pen... And then, i dont decorate for the rest of the year. Then im a one pen, one book, minimalist type of planner. When the year is underway im too stressed to actually play in it too much. I save that for the next year!
Hmm, quiz said I am a maximalist, but after watching your explanations, I would fall into the artist category. I like to change ip my decor (and I do like a lot of decor), but my function stays the same.
Thank you for this quiz. It came at an opportune moment- end of year reflection. And It rang true for me. Congratulations on a well-thought-out quiz and descriptions. I also like a Personality Planner video Alexis Giostra, aka Ms. Trench coat, did a couple of years ago. I think she had 8 or 9 personality types. Be blessed.
Was not able to take the quiz unfortunately, however I am a Chemist by trade . . . . and by your descriptions of planner styles - I am a scientist. I change the layout based on how my life is going at the time. Different layouts work for different time periods of my life. Vacation, summer, tax season, etc.
didn`t take a quiz, but I can say that there is one more scientist here. Studying at the uni(actuall scientist here, chemical technology) I don`t usualy keep the same layout every month because i just don`t need it. this month i only have my exams once a week, so i did a month layout (and prep schedule that i screwed up) and tracker for walking and energy drinks. But i`ll need a week layout next month to track all of my tasks and deadlines. Also I do some personal diary in english (coz it`s not my native one) time to time. Deco don`t work for me at all coz i am ADHD and got distracted realy easly but I like to have some splash of colour and stikers. the only way to do it is to draw everything with the layout in the begging of the month. And I am happy with it
I'm slightly below minimalist. I write tasks and appointments in list style with two days on each page. no monthly spreads, yearly spreads, no trackers, or even stickers or colored pens. I keep it so simple that its impossible to not do it for me personally. I think the only thing I might switch up when I run out of pages in my current notebook is to switch to a new brand of notebook (if they ever get soft covers. *cough* Archer and Olive *cough*
Te quiz said I was an Artist but I would classify myself as a Minimalist. My deco is mostly inline with Catherine’s (or that’s what I aspire to be like).
Such a cute and fun quiz! I wasn’t sure if I’d be the minimalist or scientist. I’m some of both for sure! I’ve had to design my own that I print out the last few months to keep my lists short and track what I eat. I’ve found when things get really stressful I have to keep my lists super short.
I know this comment is late, but I wanted to try the quiz! I think I'm most like the artist and the maximalist at certain times. I get frustrated when I'm a minimalist because it looks boring. If it doesn't catch my attention, I probably won't look at it twice lol. 😅😂
My highest score was in the Artist but I had almost even “medium” scores in Arts, Minimalist and Maximalist with a low score in scientist. LOL I think maybe I’m a minimalist artist.
Is there a way to get an email with a description of the other types? I like the video description, but to me it's nice to see it written down too... since I'm a split, it'd be fun to see the other descriptions:)
I got scientist since as an Artist [I draw and paint and stuff] my brain likes to make stuff fail as I get bored. lolool Not to mention I keep trying to start new projects so it requires different levels of planning as well.
This is so cool! I am a maximalists! However, when I look at the percentage distribution in the pie chart, it is such an accurate representation of me as a planner user. I am not an artist, but I do enjoy using stamps, washi and stickers. I was also scored fairly high in the "scientist" which is also accurate because I am experimenting with new planner options right now. My old ways were not working for me. The matrix approach really resonates with me as well. So clever! Consistency vs Flexibility and Simplicity vs. Decorative. So interesting! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for this. This is perfect to take going into the new year. It’s brilliant. I was 58% both minimalist and maximalist which is spot on. I’m pleasantly surprised and it explains why I need at least two planner/notebook/journals. 😊❤
Minimalist 58%, maximalist 33%, scientist 25% and artist 17%. I wasn’t surprised by #1 but shocked at #2!!! I though it would be last and the last second 😢 thank you, this was great. I found your channel earlier this week and love your content. I’ve just ordered a scribbles that matter hoping it’s the perfect marriage of function and memory keeping
Just found your channel! You have been so helpful … just bought my first Hobonichi Techo…. Based on your video, I am “the artist”…. Got the same result from your quiz … well done!
I missed the quiz..1st timer here.. Your video was amazing.. I think I have progressed and went through all of the types mentioned.. Currently I am a minimalist.. Your video just 🤯 loved it ❤
Thanks a lot for making this quiz; it was really fun to take! I scored 67% Minimalist and 58% Maximalist. Assuming that‘s because while I‘m fairly minimalist and very consistent in my actual planning, I love using different pens and inks and stickers and washi and ephemera - you name it - in my creative journal … which I also use very consistently. I do have a journal/diary in which I use only pen and paper to record my day, but for my creative journal, I love using ALL. THE. THINGS. 💙
I love the aesthetic of minimalists, but I just CANNOT get my brain to stick on it. It sliiiiiiiides right off. Maximalism also makes me antsy and I can't actually FUNCTION and get tasks done, because I don't know where anything is. So I'm an Artist. And yeah-- Coffee Monster CO and Amanda Rach Lee are the ones I relate to most as planners.
I admire people who can utilize "white space" as breathing room, or to frame important information, like minimalists do.... But in my own planners, it makes me anxious! "White Space" feels like emptiness that I need to fill with beauty, love, and evidence of life.
I am scientist, but for a bit of a different reason! I've accepted that I HAVE to switch up my planning style week to week, otherwise my brain gets bored and I stop being organized. I'm not searching for the perfect system, because I know I will never get one 😄 I'm just changing it up often to stay interested
I am very different in different planners. I am very much a minimalist in my teacher planners, but a maximalist in my journals. I am a scientist in my EDC (Kinbor Weekly Dated).
I'm scientist still looking for planner peace. Got the idea from Helen about using undated planners so I can stop and pick up again without wasting unused predated pages. Too bad it was after I bought a whole bunch to experiment in 2023.
Minimalists can totally have aesthetic preferences! All levels of decoration can be aesthetic in some way, just comes down to the way you use deco. Thanks for taking the quiz!
Aww. Sad I missed the quiz! But so cool that you developed this
OH MY GOSH!!! amazing, amazing, amazing!! that was so fun, and so totally accurate. i actually learned a ton about myself both taking the quiz and watching your video. I also love that you gave examples of other creators in the YT planner space because it helped me understand the different types - and my own style - a whole lot more. and i'm excited to go watch more content from those creators too! I'm a scientist planner and proud of it! thanks for making me more sure of myself and comfortable in my own style.
Omg Alicia, this is the sweetest comment ♥️ I’m SO glad you liked it!!
Scientist, with Maximalist as the next. Yup- that’s me! It’s been difficult learning that it’s OK to change, and it’s good to change!
Totally in the artist square here! (and my personal queens are certainly Helen coffeemonsterzco and Elisabeth from plant based bride 🤣)
I feel your test seems pretty interesting ^^
Thanks Marielle!

Me too
@@VanCrane I have black in many different sizes pens, blue gel pen and mechanical pencil. Highlighters, Markers, colored pencils, washi tape and stamps. I don’t buy stickers I like to use the same stamp throughout the whole book.

YAY Trish I’m so glad you found it so accurate. Scientist and Artist are usually opposites but it sounds like you marry the styles so well 😌
I am an artist too. My planner is not. I got scientist and minimalist. A artistic planner gets in the way of my creatvity.
Great idea, but were is the quizz gone?
58% artist, 50% maximalist, 42% scientist, and 25% minimalist. All of it is pretty bang on, to be honest! It's funny though, because I love looking at minimalist spreads and ideas because they make my eyes so happy, but in reality, I'm a chaotic, messy, receipt-collaging train wreck of a planner :p I've fully embraced the imperfection side of things with my messy-ass planners.
What a bummer, can’t get past the advertising to take the quiz
I got minimalist! Very accurate:)
I use a minimal amount of supplies.
I LOVE the consistency here!! It definitely helps to see patterns across many weeks or months.
✨PLANNER MATRIX QUIZ HERE: rachelleintheory.com/plannermatrix✨
The link doesn't work 😞
Good morning and happy holidays to all!!! I scored at 67 in the maximalist. Which is actually pretty spot on but never realized it. Thank you for the insight.
hey, the planner matrix quiz isn't working for me for some reason. when i click the "take the quiz" button it just sends me to a different site.
nvm i just got to the part where you said it would only be up for a limited amount of time. oops!
Im the exact same way, journaling and tasks must be separate!
I tried doing this, but since I am very late to the party, the test wasn't available anymore 😭😭😭 will this make a comeback??
For some reason, I can’t open the quiz 😢…I really want to take it though. It sends me to the score app, how can I get to the quiz?
Is the link to the quiz no longer valid? I clicked on it and it just took me to the Score App homepage.
Very cool idea. I’m an artist
@@cyana5867 they are more
Minimal… but that’s what I go. Haha
🤦♀" LOL
PS, I love your vids, Rachelle. In December, after just three months of using the Hobonichi for the first time, I felt my interest waning. But I stumbled upon a few of your videos, and it re-lit that excitement I have for all things journaling and planning
Cheska
Thank you for the feedback!
Tied for Maximalist & The Artist! It is also very accurate my functionality needs vary a lot depending on my mood and ADHD stuff but I do love to decorate.
Rachel, holy crap I don't know how you've hit all the questions I've had in my brain about planning better with all your recent videos.
Seems like the mind reading I have been doing recently has been working 🔮👀 Glad to be of help!!
I identify as a minimalist. But I guess scientist works too 😂
Oh my gosh, my worst fear is realized, I've typed you incorrectly 🥲😂 Thank you for commenting the truth!!
@@RachelleinTheory since my system is fairly consistent - I do like to switch up what I’m planning in for sure, so it works for your type setup! Who doesn’t love a new planner to figure out the best way to use
@@lindseyscribbles Totally! Sometimes you gotta switch it up just to keep things interesting!
I love this idea! But idk if it's because i'm on mobile, i cannot reach the quiz 😓
Me neither 😢
I got 45% maximalist but 33% on both minimalist and artist. I have a bullet journal and I like to try new things and adapt it to my needs as well as decorate with markers, but when I'm busy or deep into the school year I always fall back on the same spreads every month with different colors and fonts. I would even say that over breaks in school I'm the scientist because I don't set up nice pretty weekly spreads, but it's always the time I question my layouts and change them up.
I got maximalist. Definitely accurate for me. I love to change up and try new things and tend to go all in with supplies when I do. 😊
Hi I didn't get the quiz
Can u pls upload that again pls...
Hi, it's there!
@@jennifergregory65 artistic scientists Unite!
I’m totally a SCIENTIST!!! And I actually am a scientist, too! 😆 PERFECT Planner Matrix! Love it! ❤
I have been using Traveller’s Notebook and Hobonichi Cousin.
Super insightful video! Tried to take the quiz, but maybe the link doesn't work anymore?
Thank you for this quiz. It came at an opportune moment- end of year reflection. And It rang true for me. Congratulations on a well-thought-out quiz and descriptions. I also like a Personality Planner video Alexis Giostra, aka Ms. Trench coat, did a couple of years ago. I think she had 8 or 9 personality types. Be blessed.
Sweet, I'll have to check that out!
Hey Rachelle 👋🏽 I discovered your channel fairly recently and saw that the quiz is gone. Any chance you’ll reactivate it?
Great video. I am naturally a minimalist but have been evolving more towards scientist, and am enjoying the flexibility.
67% minimalist, 58% artist! I did ask for a mini photo printer for Christmas so I can start adding more pictures to my journal for memory keeping 🎉
That’s so sweet, I love my mini photo printer because it makes it so easy!
Me, too, with the mini photo printer. Can't wait to use it!
Enjoyed your podcast but the quizzes didn't come up asked fir my email.
Welp. I ended up with the Artist at 50%, Min and Max identical at 42% and Scientist at 33% ...
The OG Minimalist is Ryder Carroll, inventor of the bullet journal
I got The Maximalist. Totally makes sense for me! 👍🏻
The quiz is not accessible unfortunately, but from a video I figured out that I want to be the artist but end up being the scientist 😅
Is there a way to get an email with a description of the other types? I like the video description, but to me it's nice to see it written down too... since I'm a split, it'd be fun to see the other descriptions:)
I got maximalist (67%) followed by scientist (50%.)
I got scientist since as an Artist [I draw and paint and stuff] my brain likes to make stuff fail as I get bored. lolool
Not to mention I keep trying to start new projects so it requires different levels of planning as well.
As a newbie with limited artistic skills and materials/ budget, i definitely fit in the scientist till i figure out a more regular system.
i came out 58% for the scientist and artist, and 33% for minimalist and maxalist 😅🤔
I tried to take the quiz and I can't. It asked me to create an account to create quizzes and wants to teach me how to create quizzes 😅
Oh no I’m too late the quiz is disabled but I’m excited to take it when it’s opened again!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this. This is perfect to take going into the new year. It’s brilliant. I was 58% both minimalist and maximalist which is spot on. I’m pleasantly surprised and it explains why I need at least two planner/notebook/journals. 😊❤
That makes so much sense!!! It seems like a lot of people have a mix of minimalist and maximalist that they use different planner for each!
I want to take the quiz, but keep getting hung up in the score app. How do I proceed?
I got scientist which ironically enough i am a computer science major. Accurate!
I'm not sure if the link works anymore. It requests I sign up?
Minimalist 58%, maximalist 33%, scientist 25% and artist 17%. I wasn’t surprised by #1 but shocked at #2!!! I though it would be last and the last second 😢 thank you, this was great. I found your channel earlier this week and love your content. I’ve just ordered a scribbles that matter hoping it’s the perfect marriage of function and memory keeping
Thank you Sarah! Yeah, the results can be surprising! Wishing you luck with the Scribbles that matter planner :)

Maximalist. But a pretty balanced mixture.

Just found your channel! You have been so helpful … just bought my first Hobonichi Techo…. Based on your video, I am “the artist”…. Got the same result from your quiz … well done!
Omg thank you and welcome to the fam!!
83% maximalist.. how fun!! Thank you 💜

I missed the quiz..1st timer here..
Your video was amazing..
I think I have progressed and went through all of the types mentioned..
Currently I am a minimalist..
Your video just 🤯 loved it ❤
Thank you so much!
THE. THINGS. 💙
YES you sometimes just NEED a place to get creative 💙
Bring back the quiz! ❤
I am scientist, but for a bit of a different reason! I've accepted that I HAVE to switch up my planning style week to week, otherwise my brain gets bored and I stop being organized. I'm not searching for the perfect system, because I know I will never get one 😄 I'm just changing it up often to stay interested
Heck yeah, that's totally a Scientist thing!
I am very different in different planners. I am very much a minimalist in my teacher planners, but a maximalist in my journals. I am a scientist in my EDC (Kinbor Weekly Dated).
I totally know what you mean!
lol @ me getting 50% minimalist and 50% maximalist 😂 probably because i do like ephemera but definitely no where near the junk journal vibes
A lil ephemera never hurt anyone 😂
I'm scientist still looking for planner peace. Got the idea from Helen about using undated planners so I can stop and pick up again without wasting unused predated pages. Too bad it was after I bought a whole bunch to experiment in 2023.
Oh I totally know the feeling! Good thing undated planners can be bought and saved for later, right? 😂
Minimalist here... But I'm weird about pens, clips, and planner covers. If it's not cute, I won't use it. 😂
Minimalists can totally have aesthetic preferences! All levels of decoration can be aesthetic in some way, just comes down to the way you use deco. Thanks for taking the quiz!
I wish the quiz was working!! 😭
I took it and it was spot on. I got minamialist.
