I legit have 2 Es and a A for my prediction and I need to get AAB ORABB but my teachers won’t give me higher grades and I can’t blame them because I didn’t revise at all . I know I will get All As at yr 13 because I will put in the work but I feel like I need to persuade my teachers next year or ask them to do a test when I come back
Hi Terry, so i am guessing you just finished year 12? If I were you I will use this summer to plan and sort out how you want next year to be. Start organising yourself to make sure your plan of getting all As becomes a reality. As much as I want you to believe in yourself, mentality is not enough, you also need to actually put in the work. Do try and persuade your teachers, and do make sure you actually revise this summer. Best of luck with everything, you've got this, I have faith in you :) !
All this focus on Russell Group is not good, they are just a self-selected group of university and there are quite a few non-members that are significantly better than some members of the group. They are NOT the UK equivalent of the US ivy league. I'm speaking as a graduate from one of the highest ranking Russell Group member.
I do understand your point and agree to some extent. They really are not the equivalent of ivy league schools. It is hard to spread this message to younger students especially to those that have big aspirations and expectations set on themselves. I do want to (hopefully) get this across once I have a bigger audience. I appreciate this comment a lot and I do believe it is something that is not always mentioned but should be.
Hey girl! I found this extremely useful... thank you! I was wondering if Unis look at GCSE for the most part? Does it lower my chances of getting into the desired university , if i do have good predicted grades?
Hi my predicted grades are bbb, do you think I can get an offer if the entry requirements are abb and aab. And what would you say would improve the chances of getting an offer.
oh no! Do not worry, the teaching is mainly the same for all universities. It is all down to how much you make out of your time there! You will be fine :) congrats for getting in!!!
Hey , you made everything so clear, it clearly looks you are used to speak often on stage, i have some doubts regarding , can you help me out? Can we connect on inta or something
I do BTEC IT and want to do Computer Science at UoB, I'm predicted D*D*D* (the highest you can get for BTEC) but the university that I want to apply to wants A level maths at an "A". My GCSE maths was a 7 which is about an A but that's about all I have for maths. I unfortunately don't do A Level Maths, does that mean I can still get an offer by providing a good personal statement with some experience?
Hello. It really depends on the university. I wasn't predicted the grades i needed but i was doing the right sixth form courses. My best advice is for you to give them a call and see if there is something they can arrange for you. i think you might have to take foundation year despite having really good predictions... best of luck! sorry i cant help much but let me know how it goes.. my ig is alejcf if you want to message me about any other stuff... you got this✨
im really late, but foundation years are a good option for people who havent done maths. i’m applying for a foundation year at UoB and the entry requirements are way more achieveable (BBB) to progress to computer science after completing a foundation year
Hi, i want to do computer science at queen mary, they require ABB in a levels, my predictions are BBB, will I stiill be able to get a conditional offer with a good personal statement.
hello, so it depends on the offer you got. if it's unconditional then they will definitely let you in the course. If it is conditional then they would probably no longer offer you a place, if your chosen course has a 'Foundation year' option, they might offer you to take that instead of directly going into first year. Hope that helps!
Hello, it really depends on the universities but also the courses! Many universities would offer a foundation year instead providing they offer foundation year courses for the degree you are applying to. Make sure you do things well for the things you have control of, like your ucas application. Make sure your ucas components like personal statement and teacher reference are good and really showcase your skills! Good luck!
So I’m currently on a BBC and at this rate I won’t be getting a response from unis like aston and Birmingham that require ABB AAA is there anyway they can accept me or do I have to go through clearing etc
@@jk2000jk I got in through clearing , if you don’t get an offer pre January because your predicted grades aren’t high it’s not the end of the world , they always lower the requirement grades when results day comes around and if you’re not doing something medicine related there’s an extremely high chance you’ll get a response and get in
@@jk2000jk yes , if you’re applying through clearing the grades are normally lowered , at least that was the case for my year. It never worked for me but I advise you to go speak to whoever deals with your predicted grades and beg them for higher grades and then work your socks off , as you said law is competitive but there should be spots available through clearing if you don’t get any offers rn
As long as you get what you need in august next year and your grades meet the entry requirements you should be more than fine through clearing and as I said before they lowered the entry requirements on results day for us by like a grade or two , I’m not sure if that’s a regular occurrence or it was because our year did really really bad

i'm not sure, i dont think they prioritise GCSE grades that much, but if they do have lots of applicants, they might take it into consideration.
Great Video! Very useful, wish I had such tips when I was applying 😭.

Tip 4 - Don't do IBDP
