    I sent you a message last week about doing a video like this for us suffering from low back pain and wanting to strengthen our core and back muscles, thanks for making this video, I will definitely give these exercises a try! Not knowing where to start and which exercises would help this video gives me a great start to focus on. I appreciate the time you took to do this video! Keep them coming!! Best regards, stay safe and well. 😁

    And another ! Excellent video. !!!
    For traction to decompress the spine passively, as I do the hamstring curl utilizing the pull-up bars, I simple just hang with straight legs and let gravity do it’s magic. It’s feels really nice on the spine and pulling the leg out of the hip socket providing some nice relief. I have been doing martial arts for over 25 years so the hips have taken a beating, this really provides nice relief. I’m blessed with size 13 feet so falling out is difficult for me. For smaller feet or if uncomfortable people can use a pool noodle.

    So I'm a disabled vet, airborne, so I had back surgery 4 months ago and ask if this has opened up my eyes to training different. I used to lift for strength mostly. Now I'm interested in more functional training, and attracted to TG because of that. I'm just under 300 and looking at buying a lower end one because, poor.

    It would be nice to have a video for those of just starting out. I had failed back surgery & subsequently had a SCS implanted. Before the back surgery, I was walking independently, just in pain as the outer covering of my spinal cord was twisted & 1 of my bulging discs was sitting on top of it. After the surgery, I woke up in excruciating pain, radiating down the back of both legs & could not walk without assistance. It's been a long road & I can walk now, but need a walker as I now have balance problems.
    My personal MD sent me to see another specialist & tests showed I had permanent nerve damage & recommended I see a pain specialist as they couldn't reverse the damage the first ortho surgeon did. He recommended either SI joint injections or a SCS. Based on all of the tests, he recommended I get the SCS & it has really helped a lot.
    I have a generic TG (Fitvids LX700) & do all kinds of exercises on my upper body, abs, legs & any exercises I can do sitting up. I would love to do more exercises, but it is really uncomfortable to lay flat on my back. I have early onset OA, so when laying flat on my board, I have pain in my thoracic spine. Is there anything you can recommend to use as padding on the board for people like myself? I've talked to both my personal MD & my ortho MD & they can't think of anything as neither have a TG & not familiar with what I could use. I spent $$ on my home gym & would love to do exercises while laying flat on the board.

    Glad you picked up on the idea of the full body stretching, especially with the gravity boots. For those with knee problems, stretching face down (with the gravity boots) will put a natural bend in the knees, thereby relieving a lot of pressure on the knees.

    • @FrankATracy
      @FrankATracy 8 месяцев назад

      As far as the inversion boots themselves, the Teeter ones have three advantages over the others: they’re the most comfortable, they have a double locking system and they have calf loops which can help the elderly and less mobile individuals come up out of the stretch when face up.

      The weight bar, if at the top of the glide board, can also help come up out of the stretch when using any gravity boots.

      @@mikesteele1789ya they are. I’ve used a Teeter EP-560 inversion table since 2014. I even did a video - Total Gym vs Teeter inversion table.

    It's not just a great machine to develop your body but excellent for rehab as you're proving.Years ago a gentleman named John Carleo who appeared on several of the total gym infomercials described how while competing in power lifting he injured his back, and used only the total gym to continue to train. Later once healed he competed again and broke more records. He credits the total gym for allowing him to continue to get strong while rehabing,anyone who has purchased a total gym probably has his 6-8 minute video.

    When I started using the machine, I noticed right away that doing the leg squats and then trying the bridge eased pain in my lower back and made my back feel much better going about my day. I’ll have to try these other suggestions. Thx.

    Hey, I was wondering if you have some recommendations for how to work the lower lats? I have looked online for days and I haven’t found anything that I can do on the total gym, with the only one being front pullovers and that hasn’t felt like it’s been working

    How would you hook the gravity boots to the top of the total gym? I found them on Amazon and would love to order them. That stretch would be hugely helpful for my back issues.

      Again, I'd check with your health care professional, but if it was me, yes I would be doing a variety of these extension exercises and avoiding spinal flexion exercises.
