' He can't read your mind, but he can follow your train of thought to its natural conclusions, maybe a bit more like seeing an aura. This canto does tend to expect you to have a full squad of backups and it’s difficulty is designed around so I’d recommend you fill your backup with other competent ids you have. Although it’s ultimately up to you and for now you should be fine

I haven't read Distortion Detective either, so this is just speculation on my part, but... In regards to Distortion vs. Non-Distortion bloodfiends, I think it''s just that people can distort into something that already exists? Like how Papa Bongy distorted into a chicken. Chickens can exist without Distortion, but Chickens as a concept exist strongly enough for some people that they can distort into one. So the people who distorted into bloodfiends just happened to distort into something that resembled a bloodfiend in the same way that papa Bongy distorted into something resembling a chicken, rather than them being 'proper' bloodfiends. I feel like the issue with bringing water in is bringing enough to use it more than a couple times. Though you'd think an anti-bloodfiend office like Fanghunt would have machines for that... Maybe the head counts a firehose as a ranged weapon if you plan on using it against bloodfiends.

He's an obnoxious character who's profession is adjacent to my field. I'm not so insecure or lacking in self awareness as to be unaware of the irony, its pretty funny and I appreciate his place in the story, as someone I can be extremely belligerent to. It helps to emphasize the fragile alliance between us and the fixers going into La Manchaland, it would be a pretty dull dynamic if everyone was pleasant and 100% likeable. Fanghunt fill this role as well, albeit in a different way. Hong Lu's sister too. You can hate a character as a person but appreciate the way they enhance a narrative. Argalia was such a slimy bastard and that is precisely why he was so effective, he enhanced practically every scene he was in. I wouldn't be friends with him, but Ruina would suffer greatly from his absence.

I know all about the "hating a character as a person and not as a character" concept, I was just saying that you spending 4-ish minutes straight on trash-talking him seems a bit too much, and also in the previous episode you went all in on trash-talking him too, and like, I strongly dislike Camille too, it's not like I am defending him, the amount of trash-talk you throw at him just feels excessive, even if just a little, and I commented on it cuz it bugged me enough to comment on it, that's it. it's just that at some point it stopped feeling funny to me and started feeling excessive, but that may be just me
