Very nice canal session, this is encouraging for me too! I also use a centrepin on canals and stills. Another thing, I noticed an absence of roach? on my local canal they're pretty well uncatchable without going down to microscopic hooks and invisible 12 ounce hook-lengths. But perch and skimmers tend to show well on 16s and 2lb bottoms. Very odd that on a nearby lake, roach come thick and fast on quite crude tackle, when fishing for Tench! its not like canals are fished as hard as in the 70s. Great channel, just subbed👍
Hi there, yes, I have caught a few roach on the last few trips, but I don't catch them in the quantities that I used to a few years back. I love fishing with my centrepin reels and no matter what the species, as long as I don't have to cast to far, I always use one where possible. Thanks for subscribing, tight lines and good luck for your next trip out 👍
Good to see you out Andy .. unbelievably I watched the jack Hargreaves’s pub crawl video yesterday … proper English pubs with character. I take it you heard about the decimation of the upper Avon . All the best Baz 🌞🎣😊
Some nice Perch there Andy. Your right, fishing is different for different folk. Some folk are happy 'tiddler snatching' but it'd drive me nuts. Others think that a weeks night fishing for a 30Lb Carp is the only way to go. Neither is wrong or bad. Carp of any size are nice to catch however, I couldn't do as you did a couple of years back...night after night on the canal for illusive carp and just pesky crays and bream keeping you awake. But I'm sure you enjoyed that as much as fishing the odd match for 'tiddlers' . I would draw the line (no pun intended) at pole fishing 🙂
Hi Duncan, I trust you and Doug are both keeping well? That's that bit of canal I am hoping to take the pair of you to, one day. It doesn't normally see too many pedestrians and it's reasonable for boats, I think I saw 4 the other evening. How goes the barbel hunting?
@@boldersa Well Andy, Doug hasn't had the chance to do too much Barbel fishing. His big house move happend and there were lots of DIY jobs to occupy him after his last tenants vacated the property. Plus decorating etc. Hence I haven't got out either. I have been doing a bit of shooting over at the farm instead. I hope to see you when things have returned to normal a bit.
that's a decent few hours andy👍🎣
Thanks Mark, it was a nice little departure from chasing carp 😎
Nice to see a canal video
Thank you 😊
love to see a new video good to see you fishing mate.
Thank you 😎

Hi Baz, Yes, it's rather sad, isn't it.
I hope you are keeping well and catching a few fish 👍

Hi DJ, I hope you are keeping well.
It's always good to hear from you 👍
Likewise, always good to see your videos 🙂@@boldersa
You did quite well there Andy. Not to many boats or tow pathe tourists either! 😮
