FYI I do know Shotaros previous history with Tiktok and dancing in Japan but I meant, did he have any classical training such as ballet/contemporary etc? Judging from the comments there’s not much known about his training the area. Anyway this has BEEN a Shotaro stan account for a min hdhshsha.

Q:I heard that your mother liked dancing and took Shotaro, who was 5 years old, to a dance class. Do you remember going to the classroom holding your mother's hand?
A: I heard so, but I don't remember because I was young.
Q:How did you learn how to dance?
A:I went to the school for about 10 years, including other places as well as that school, and learned multiple kinds of dances.
Q. What dance is Shotaro aiming for?
A:Cool dance transcends genres. I'm trying to dance in various genres. I like the stylish HIPHOP just to mention one thing.
Q: Besides K-pop dance and HIPHOP, do you like ballet or contemporary dance in any genre?
A: Yes, I haven't touched on ballet a lot, but I find it fascinating every time I see it. I'm impressed by all the beautiful dance and other cultures.

Shotaro trained at a competitive dance school in Japan!! He is like a different breed of dancing machine, more defined and stuff. He also had tiktok dancing era before he became a NCT member.
shotaro auditioned for SM in 2019, he was accepted in early 2020 and in March he started learning Korean,
Finally in June he left for Korea,
He underwent training for only a month
SM is very lucky to get shotaro 👍

shotaro trained in japan under a dance academy and spent many years performing from a young age as a backup dancer for other artists as well as in dance competitions his crew even performed in the world of dance qualifiers in japan and the fact that he was only 20 when he debuted in nct and he did all of that prior makes him incredible. there are videos here on youtube that give compilations of him dancing with his female choreographer or with others in general. also for bonus info he auditioned for nct in 2019 and got flown into korea around middle of 2020 which was when nct had started filming resonance so he only had weeks initially to learn korean and immediately start filming his debut. i recommend giving his predebut content a watch cause it gives a more full picture as to how great of a performer he is👍. hope you find this info helpful
i dont know how to exactly word my thoughts but this is the closest i can come up with: i feel like SM isnt challenging shotaro enough, sure he updates and says he is working hard on projects but i feel like the dance videos they have of him he doesnt look like he's having a hard time or strained or anything im not saying to like do jumps aerials flips breaking or whatever but i feel like we havent really seen him be pushed, what i mean is like how ten and winwin got pushed by the lovely choreo video, you can tell they were breaking something and moving past their limit, i feel like the 2 comebacks we've seen shotaro he just practicing, then again it could be just bc he's a really good dancer and he just makes it look smooth, both can be true.

Shotaro was actually heavy into dance before I think he trained in Japan idk if he was under a company or if he attended a sort of art/dance school. He used to make tiktoks of his dance covers you can find some compilation videos on RUclips. I do believe one in particular was NCT127's kick it or NCT127's Cherry bomb i don't remember which song it was now lol. But he was actually a huge fan of NCT before SM grabbed him up and he was put into the group. He's the only other Japanese member in NCT aside from Yuta. So I don't think he had been in South Korea for that long before his debut in NCT and that's why he struggled with speaking Korean at the beginning. I think he's improved a lot because he debuted with Korean member Sungchan at the same time and they spend a lot of time together.
Oh my... thank you for appreciating Jisung. I so love his dancing style and his deep voice but SM is not giving him more center time. For goodness sake his the main dancer. My baby with that talent deserve better

They pushed him a lot as a dancer at the beginning but now they don't use him st his full potential. I wonder if it's still because they have been cautious with his last knee injury that cased quite a long hiatus for him. Since he is still do young maybe they want to be assured he is completely good. It's the only reason i can think of
@@ericacella1180 I have feeling that this is the reason. I've noticed that Taeyong has also gotten less time in the centre for dance breaks since his back injury.
I want a full on dance performance with NCTs "dancers". Ten, Winwin, Taeyong, Shotaro, and Jisung.
Shotaro has been dancing since he was 5 but idk if he was under a company of smthing, but he is damn talented man
the "glitching" part actually isn't edited, it might have been cleaned up a little but they're doing it normally. a lot of people thought it was editing though so i get it lol
they did the music at half speed and its edited at 2x speed. its the same they did for Hot Sauce for one scene with the hot sauce bottles.

it’s way too obviously edited. You can praise your faves without having to fake details. Dream is my ult but even I’m willing to admit that it’s edited. That’s ok to say since the mv turned out well bc of it.

Shotaro was not only a professional (or at least professional level) dancer, he was also an instructor and pretty famous/ viral tiktoker (in japan) for his dance vids before his debut

focus on the name, its con'NEXT'ion, its probably a trailer for future nct promotions (new groups and members). Might have been future members as one of the dancers. It wasn't a regular comeback haha.
Shotaro actually had a VERY short training period, only a couple months. There was actually some complaints about it, Shotaro had been with a dance crew for a while and was very experienced in dance already. So debuted fast.
he almost didn't train with SM actually, a few weeks at most and it was probably just media training. He's been dancing since he was 5 and participated in a lot of competitions. If you can find his WOD video, he's the center and he's just incredible in it. He was mostly known for being one of EXPG Tokyo's best dancers (one of japan's best dance schools), danced for huge japanese artists, taught dance.. his dancing resumé is so long I'm not even gonna bother write it all but he was allegedly scouted by SM because they heard of how good it was
this song is actually something that was commissioned by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) To commemorate the launch
He doesnt need additional dancectraining but vocals korean and rapping he has too and i think he still trsins until now. Coz u cant just be a dancer in nct. He did not train under SM for dance but he has hreat foindsfional trainimg in dance. He is a good seed

NCT DREAM looks like 4th generation Idols. Even though they are 3rd generation idols Lol. They are still very young but have already become one of the seniors. IT WAS INCREDIBLE Because they are now achieving success for their struggles and hard work from 2016.
It feels like raising a child even though I'm even 2 years younger than our Maknae Jisung😅.

Shotaro I know he got discovered on Tik Tok but don't believe he's classically trained but the boy can freestyle too. He used cover NCT's dancing on Tik Tok that's how he got noticed.
He wasn't discovered on tiktok. He did like two NCT covers on tiktok, everything else was hip-hop choreo and other popular tiktok trends. He did all of that after auditioning for SM.

Shotaro is a major in hip hop dance since he was kid. And his mom is also dancer too (but I don't know what speciality she is)
That's why he was trained only 3 months because the ability is no joke

Shotaro didn’t have tiktok when he was scouted by SM in 2019, he was found because he was known in the japanese dance scene, rumors are that his teachers recommended him to SM but we don’t know for sure

for the 'glitch' parts in the choreography, they did some speed ramping, but it's them doing the actual dance, so it's both ^^

the glitching part was recorded at 0.5 then 2x to make it sharp
