I'm a Winston-Salem native. I've lived there for 22 years before moving to Mocksville NC which is part of Davie County not to far from Winston-Salem. I never knew R.J Reynolds name was Richard Joshua Reynolds & never knew he was buried in W~S so i certainly learned something.

The all flat stone section is the Salem Moravian God’s Acre graveyard. Only Moravian’s are buried there. The section with the upright stones are part of Salem Cemetery. Two different resting grounds. 😊❤

I have grand parents buried in Salem grave yard. I go each year and clean the grave stones. You sir are looking in the old city grave yard and you are not in the proper place .
    R. J. Reynolds was not a Moravian, therefore he could not have been burried in the Salem Moravian Cemetary.
As for me, I owned the Christoph Vogler House and restored it. Type it in and have a look.

Thanks for commenting. It’s a beautiful cemetery and so peaceful. However, did you watch the entire video because I found the grave of RJ Reynolds there and it’s all in the video. Please let me know your thoughts. I find this stuff very interesting. Thanks!

@@RandomEarthMedia I indicated that RJR was not burried in the Salem Moravian Cemetary. Had he been burried there, he could not have had the eloberate monument. The Moravians are strict about head stones and RJR would have been no exception. The cemetary you were in was not the Salem cemetary. Your post was well done and respectable.

The final cemetery in the video is where he is buried. I've lived in Winston Salem area for 40 years.
