Hello brother. I just stumbled on your video and I'd like to give some constructive criticism if you will have it. I think you went over each application too quickly and did not go into enough detail to let people know which app suits their needs the best. For example, when talking about Bear Note, you did not mention that it is only available on Apple platforms. And when talking about Obsidian and some other apps, you mentioned PKM and assumed that your audience already knows what PKM is. As someone who has researched a lot of these apps and has already chosen one for my personal use, I want to help other people research and choose the best one for them. I wanted to give them a link to a useful RUclips video that is up to date in 2024 which will just show them the best note taking apps. However, after watching your video I find that I cannot share it with the people that I am guiding because it does not provide enough information. I know how much time and effort goes into researching, shooting and editing a video and I am not trying to demean your work. I just hope you can see clearly what I'm saying.
It’s interesting that Craft costs about the same as Evernote Personal ($8 vs $10 a month on an annual plan) and also has an almost useless Free plan, but it doesn’t get the same Price Bashing.
Craft es una linda aplicación, pero se centra en la estética y sus funcionalidades son limitadas. No tiene etiquetas y el anidado está a años luz de Obsidian y Workflowy
Have tried 5 of them on this list: Started with Notion, then it got too chunky and I spent way too much time trying to structure. Went to Workflowy in 2019, but it lacked a lot of features back then, couldn't support paragraphs so the outlines can get overwhelming without proper line spacing. I think a lot has changed since. Went back to Notion again for the lack of a proper replacement for me Tried Supernotes next. Good but has some friction with my workflow with the tasks feature Tried Capacities And gave up TWICE because of the complexity and learning curve,. But on the 3rd try, I gutted through, bought the Pro plan and the difference is immense. A daily user now.
Currently use Apple Notes. I love what EverNote is doing but lack of security holds me back from them. With Apple Notes I turn on Advanced Data Protection and everything is end to end encrypted. If Evernote would step up their security I would look at them again because the app itself is amazing now.
Agree. Long time user of these solutions, and obsidian pretty much does everything I ever wanted and more. Add the smart chat plugin for full AI vector database search over your notes, so you can type in things like "who is Ken Cavandar's daughter and you'll get an answer in simple language and links. Brilliant.
If some of you are in search for something new, I'm launching a new note-taking app (it's free). The main distinctive feature of this app is that there are multiple ways of referecing the same concepts (so for example you can differentiate references that are about concept "X" from references that simply relates to concept "X"), which makes references intrinsically organized. I have a video that explains the whole paradigm. I hope I'm not intruding, just trying to get started !
What about LogSeq? This app is easy to use and with immense capabilities. However the graphview could be improved as well as the possibility of task management. However, two big advantages are that 1. It is open source and 2. The data is stored on your Mac. Which software do you suggest I could upgrade to in order to keep the functionality and simple use of LogSeq but improve the functionality?
Logseq might be something to stick with at the moment. They are testing a database version that will allow for a quicker improvement cycle and better graph capabilities as well. They are in beta with the database version. I have some reservations personally about the change but I'm taking a wait and see attitude.
@@donaldmickunas8552 Thank you for quick reply. Well I will continue with LogSeq but I hope that they improve the graph-view that presently is not very good and instead make you more confused. Otherwise the program is great.
obsidian is so much work to set up and play around to get it working. bear is so simple, perfect for notes but not for pkm. apple notes is good but you can't find anything any more visually. no views.just the search. if you have many notes you can't find anything any more.
@@mr_red13 Prueba Workflowy. Desde hace 3 años estoy utilizándola y no me cambiaría. Reflect es la más atractiva de las restantes, pero el sistema de nodos de Workflowy, espejos, simpleza, Kanban, fechas, reconocimiento de textos, atajos y otros es insuperable
Love Reflect, the app is beautiful, the interface is simple... Longer notes do slow the system though and I wish there was more capture options or integrations, like email forwarding... Also with there was an Android app with AI features to recall stuff from my phone...
What about Apple Notes? It has grown in features and so many people just use this for the built in, easy to use, notes. Plus on MacOS you and bring up a quick note just by placing the mouse in the lower right corner of the desktop
@@majorgear1021 agreed and good point. Apple should make notes available on the web. Maybe not the full writing experience but lookup and text features.
I love the content but, echoing some of the sentiment in other comments - man, you sped through these like you had some place to be. Another 20 or 30 seconds on each application would have been incredibly helpful.

Evernote has lightning speed in terms of raising their price with no improvement to the app at all. I’m trying to find another system that I can migrated my whole file system out of it. Still haven’t find anything comparable. OneNote looks promising but very slow.

Hi man,it is so easy to conclude that "this video rank is not helping people choosing the right Notes apps"
Boo hoo
Would be nice to include which ones are free, and the price for the pay apps.
I was quite surprised that Craft didn't make your list. I would have ranked it in the top 5.
Yeaaahhh
I was surprised as well. It’s better than Evernote at least 😂 with the way things are going with them.
Wanted to mention this too. Craft is extremely capable. I switched from evernote to it. Just a bit more tricky to set up.
It’s interesting that Craft costs about the same as Evernote Personal ($8 vs $10 a month on an annual plan) and also has an almost useless Free plan, but it doesn’t get the same Price Bashing.

Vuelve a Workflowy que desde el 2021 a la fecha han lanzado funciones geniales sin perder la simplicidad. Entre ellas párrafos

Obsidian all the way for me!
goddam you are fast

I dont like using tables in obsidian
Not for me.

Surprised that Noteplan didn't get a mention here. To me, it seems like a Reflect that's further along.
Bear is gorgeous and so fun to use. I struggle to take notes when it's not a fun experience.
Obsidian - Still no custom sorting of folders and notes? Then I'm staying with OneNote :/
Damn…. You mentioned dinosaurs like Evernote and OneNote but Craft gets a snub. No way

what's up with Notion's logo?
After 5 year adventure with PKM and note-taking, I recommend 3 apps: Obsidian, Bear, Apple Notes!
What’s the best one?
obsidian is so much work to set up and play around to get it working. bear is so simple, perfect for notes but not for pkm. apple notes is good but you can't find anything any more visually. no views.just the search. if you have many notes you can't find anything any more.

@@artofdao Um. Notes are definitely PKM. Bear is much more simple, yes for notes, however, Obsidian is much more advanced for notes in the long term.
No web based access makes these a no for me.
Where's anytype? Where's craft? Where's lattics?
Tried most of these. Capacities is definitely in the Goldilocks zone for me. Would just like them to add the calendar integration like Reflect.
Capacities works best for me as my PKM and Life OS app
its very new is it ready yet ? I humble between he-table and capacities. I come from obsidian
what makes capacities best for you ?
In love with Bear and its simplicity :)
Reflect seems to match how my brain works best.
Love Reflect, the app is beautiful, the interface is simple... Longer notes do slow the system though and I wish there was more capture options or integrations, like email forwarding... Also with there was an Android app with AI features to recall stuff from my phone...
What happened to clover notes?
Tana and Craft should be #1 and #2…
What about Apple Notes? It has grown in features and so many people just use this for the built in, easy to use, notes. Plus on MacOS you and bring up a quick note just by placing the mouse in the lower right corner of the desktop
It’s not accessible on a computer that isn’t mine , like my employer’s laptop. So I need a web interface to my notes.
@@majorgear1021 agreed and good point. Apple should make notes available on the web. Maybe not the full writing experience but lookup and text features.
I am surprised that Avidnote did not make it on the list!
Liked this; can you do one for handwriting recognition, especially with EInk tablets
iA Writer is my go too
I love the content but, echoing some of the sentiment in other comments - man, you sped through these like you had some place to be. Another 20 or 30 seconds on each application would have been incredibly helpful.
It's hard, I need to find that balance. Thanks.

Evernote, but Capacities looks interesting
No mention of Joplin?
What is the app in the thumbnail? Do you mind to share?
How about Google Keep? Is it too simple to enter this ranking?
Not private 👎
What about Loop?
Workflowy the OG!
Just one word: Anytype
Joplin?
Feathernotes
I am surprised that Tana was not mentioned at all?!
Where is logseq??!!!
Reflect FTW
Sorry but you missed the best one, Anytype !
I love obsidian but I'm moving to notion
Joplin anyone?
more video time to the app, less to the face/person. Thank you.
#anytype ??? Love that #upnote got some,well, love!

Evernote - because i use it since 2010 😊
Craft Docs
Loved the overview - would like to mention I found the swipe noises VERY distracting and unnecessary
Only Craft 👍
Tana?
isn't it still waitlist?
No heptabase...? Well wtf
Twos is underrated.
whaich one is free, android, windows, has free sync cloud and unlimited notes. ty
You have a bit of a choice! OneNote, Capacities and UpNote are worth checking out that meet your criteria.
which does all the work for you and delibvery free meals?
+1
and works offline too
best note taking app for all time is the book...ditch this video and save your time.
Where's Tana???
We’ve added to our PKM apps
in the bin
Just use apple notes.
