My only reservations towards ReLink are (1) people say the single player campaign it's too short, about 12-15 hours, and (2) most of the fun seems to be reserved for the multiplayer, but that comes with issues, mainly the people who use hacks.
it was a lot of fun, the main campaign is pretty short, around 20-30 hours at the most? but the post game content is huge (and also continues the story) and really the focus of the game is on the characters. The gameplay is smooth and addictive, really is worth it in my opinion.
@@b00g3rs21 agree with what he said ,story has amazing set pieces and doesn't overstay it's welcome and endgame is really great too and can be totally played solo with any character you like, I mean there's a reason it's sitting on overwhelmingly positive recent reviews on steam rn...
Granblue Fantasy: Relink was a pretty high-profile release, wasn't it? On the other hand, any Square Enix RPG that isn't Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest needs all the signal boosting it can get these days...
Hey David, while I'm not the most deserving person to receive the Fantasian giveaway (as I've already played through it on Apple Arcade), I just want to say you're putting out some really great content these days. I've been sub'd for years, and somehow I think you're doing better now than ever before. Keep at it, mate!
David you are one of the main reasons I get on RUclips. Your informative reviews with that charming personality makes every video 1000x better. I am one of your thousands (and eventually millions) subscribers that truly appreciates your content - thank you for all the smiles you’ve brought to all of us while discussing what we all love. Keep being you and as the most jacked JRPG RUclipsr says “Have a Good Day”. Blessings David!
This list is amazing. As a die hard JRPG fanatic and Final Fantasy aficionado, Fantastian is a must play for me. I'd love to get my hands on it. My backlog is starting to grow out of control, but I'd bump it to the front of my list if I got it. From one David to another, my wife and I love you. Haha keep up the amazing content.
I dunno if I'd be considered the most deserving, but Sakaguchi and Uematsu's works have been a huge positive influence on me ever since I played Final Fantasy VI as a kid! Heck, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were a large part of why I bought an Xbox 360 back in the day, and you can bet I grabbed The Last Story day one when it came out in America!
My most underrated hidden gem RPG will always be Miitopia and I'm 100% serious. I can't stand how people just write the game off as a "silly dumb Mii-game", when the game is SO much more, able to set a Mii for literally everything including not only NPCs for all the towns, but also villains and party-members, and along with the standard Warrior, Mage, Cleric, Thief, etc. comes with some unorthodox classes, like "Chef", which is like a more tanky Healer and be able to select personalities on them which not only determins the way they speak/act but actually have in-battle effects, like Stubborn Miis being able to half damage, but can refuse to take heals/buffs sometimes, or Laid-Back Miis being able to slack off, making a weaker attack, but with lesser MP costs, or get serious which does the reverse (stronger attack, higher MP cost) or how kind Miis can take a blow for an ally, but also be able to spare enemies, which can end the battle, but deny you of EXP, money and food items. Also the Mii Maker in the Switch-Remaster is UTTERLY INSANE, you can quite literally recreate any character as a Mii there. I really cannot express how much I love this game.
i have all these games wishlisted, but i haven't been able to work for a few months, i'm in recovery, it would make my life if i was to be able to play that game! but whether i win or not i do wanna say you do a fantastic job david, i'm glad i found your videos.
I’m deserving for Neo Dimension because : As a lifelong JRPG fan and collector, I can’t express how much winning Fantasian Neo Dimension would mean to me! My love for RPGs is deeply rooted-90% of my gaming library consists of RPGs and JRPGs, including the entire Final Fantasy series. I even went all out for the FFVII remake Collector’s Edition with the Cloud and the iconic bike What excites me most about Neo Dimension is its incredible Panorama system. It’s a groundbreaking visual style that brings a new level of immersion and creativity to the genre. I genuinely hope it inspires more games to experiment with artistic directions like stop motion or Claymation. It’s such a bold move, and I admire the developers for taking this step. Also praying for an HD2D Chrono Trigger Pleasssse! The Steam Deck would be the perfect platform for me to enjoy this gem. While I love my Switch, the Steam Deck’s power and flexibility offer an unbeatable way to experience games on the go. Playing Neo Dimension in such a unique format would be a dream come true. Finally, I want to thank this channel for not only offering this chance to win but for being my go-to source for all things JRPG and gaming. Watching your content has kept me inspired to collect, play, and appreciate the art of gaming. Whether or not I win, I’m grateful for the amazing community you’ve fostered here. Keep up the phenomenal work!
I'm not the most worthy in any way, but I believe my wife is for all her hard work every day, working full-time and being a great mom after work, with little time left over to sit down and truly enjoy her own time. Besides that, great little list of very overlooked games that deserve to be taken a closer look at
I am the most deserving because I have been playing Sakaguchi's games since 1990 when the first Final Fantasy came out in america. Between FF1 and DQ1 they created my love of the JRPG genre and I just can't wait to play more of the creators of both games stuff.
What a great list! And I definitely missed them all. I’m planning to play Fantasian some time, I think I might be worthy of a code as I’m a diehard Uematsu and Sakaguchi fan. 😅
Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu are a team that can't be beat! Legends in their own craft. Super glad they have teamed up to work on this! I'm gonna have to grab it for when I go away months at a time with the Navy. Thanks for the list again! Super appreciated David!
I’m playing through Eiyuden right now. I went into it blind not knowing what it was and I am pleasantly surprised so far. I’m only about 8 hours in and just finished the first “war” sequence and it was really cool. I had no idea what was going on tho. “I AM NOWA!!!!” Haha that part had me rollin.
I got in trouble with work trying to load Apple Arcade/Fantasian on my work phone (I have an android for personal use but work gave me an iPhone) so it's great that it's released! I don't know if that makes me most deserving but keep up the great vids.
Dear Mr. David. The only reason I would say I'm the most "deserving" is because I don't do the backlog thing and getting ready to start a new quest (FF7RB should be done this week) 😜. Keep up the great content and congrats to whoever wins as long as they just use the code and enjoy the game.
By the way, it just occured to me that there was another game that flew under the radar this year, at least for the majority of gamers, one that I've been hooked on ever since playing it a week ago. Of course, that would be Capcom's Kunitsu-Gami, a mixture of action with RPG and tower defence elements. Not exactly a jRPG, but if you liked Genji, Onimusha or Okami on the PS2, you might want to give KG a shot. It has excellent visual and audio presentation, and just like Okami, it is in the thick of Japanese mythology and lore.
I don’t know about “deserving” but I’d certainly love to play Fantasian. Only game on this list I haven’t played. I know you’ve talked about it on here, but secret of Varonis was a hidden gem that really stuck out to me this year.
Couldn't agree more so many great JRPG's dropped this year and it was difficult to play catch up. My personal vote is Chrono Ark I added it to my Steam Wishlist back in May and bought it only a week ago or so and it has me hooked.
Hey, that's a great list. I'll admit I'm no fan of list videos but I like the ones from your channel because you explain well the reasons for each game. And for a reason to receive the Fantasia giveaway, I'm a great fan of mistwalker games, even the mobile one. Terra Battle had me constantly using my phone and was very sad when the service ended
Bought Granblue Fnatasy Relink and Neo Fantasian! They are chillin on my desk until I finish a few other games. You were right this year was a banger for rpgs. Got me very busy and catching up lol
Oh and I am definitely adding Eiyuden Chronicle and Romancing Saga 2 to my wish list! Those look amazing. Solid 2024 list overall. Thanks for the recommendations!
jeanne darc was suprisingly good and im so glad I choose to play it this year. On another note I never thought I would get addicted to Romancing Saga 2 that it took so much of my time.
i LOVE RPGS. my FAVEORITE genre. I also upload the gameplay. but i never played fantasia new dimension. and i always look for your vids to find out more rpgs i missed. and it didnt dissapoint
Solid list but think what really went overlooked this year was Visions of Mana. While it has a few issues, it's overall a great RPG that not too many people played. I think mainly because it didn't release on the Switch. Something I hope Square corrects with the Switch 2.
Have you ever done or thought about doing something like "the essentials"? Some sort of JRPG 2024 list of games you'd recommend if you only play a couple JRPGs a year? That kind of thing?
I think I’d be the most deserving for the FND code because I played every game on this list this year, enjoyed them all, AND In 2024 I bought almost solely JRPGs and Fantasian Neodimension is one of the ONLY big JRPGs that I dont own yet. So, in the context of this video, I think winning the game code would be the perfect cherry on top to my 2024, and my “year of JRPGs” of sorts. I also never experienced it on mobile so it would be my first experience with it ever, seeing as I’ve also managed to completely avoid spoilers and all I know about the game is what you’ve said here. But I’m excited for it either way because Sakaguchi and Uematsu are legends to me, since some of my favorite games that I played this year are still FF1-6 with the pixel remasters. It’d also be a stellar game to play on my steam deck
Just found your channel last week while looking up stuff about DQ 3! I’d love to play Fantasian once I beat that game since i’ve heard it’s pretty similar to older FF games
I love Square Enix games, alot. I have played lots from old school Final Fantasy like 1-9 to more niche titles like Romancing Saga and Bravely Default. Fantasian Neo Dimension looks so cool and i'd love to check out the PC version! I enjoy turn based tactical games so much and am LOVING all these recent remakes/remasters.
It’s wild how much this channel grew from the original Mother playthrough where everyone had to take a shot when David said YIKES! to suns out guns out and now this guy is going to gaming release conventions. Chrono Cross will always be a meme, Marle sucks and FF9 needs a proper re release
Hello! Thanks for the recommendation about Grandia II in that another video. I liked so much the game that I finished it, Grandia III and Grandia Xtreme, back to back. I'm about to play again the first game that I played 15 years ago.
I deserve to win because Fantasian is the only game that would make me take a much needed healthy break from the 6 month long Kiseki marathon that I haven't been able to stop.
Well, David you're right. I played absolutely none of the games listed here. I only played the demos for both Granblue Fantasy Relink and Romancing Saga 2. I also purchased Eiyuden Chronicle and Jeanne d'Arc, but haven't gotten around to playing them. And I haven't been able to experience Neo Fantasian in any way, shape or form yet, but I do plan on picking it up because it DOES look great.
I am loving Romancing Saga 2 on Switch. Still have to get my hands on the rest. I would love a digital copy of Neo Dimension Fantasia as it looks beautiful. Right up my alley Rip Curl dude 🥳
I would like to nominate myself as most deserving sakaguchi/Fantasian fan. I’ve loved final fantasy and squareenix for my whole life, when I was about seven my aunt gave me a box full of RPG‘s, including Mario, RPG, seventh saga, Final Fantasy 3 and secret of mana. I was instantly hooked and I’ve been buying and supporting square enix and final fantasy ever since. I even named my daughter Vivian after the beloved blackmage. And once I had a zune with nothing but final fantasy soundtracks on it and my friend said “what’s the matter with you?”
My personal GOTY picks went from GBF Relink > Dragon's Dogma 2 > Stellar Blade. Jeanne d'Arc I played on PSP and loved it so much, bought it as soon as I could on PS5.
I would definitely love to have the code for Fantasian! I actually played through part of the first one when I got a free trial of Apple Arcade. But I only got about a third of the way through before my trial expired because I had family problems to focus on, and couldn’t afford to actually pay the monthly fee. But I still want to complete it, as I’ve been a Final Fantasy fan since I was little, and love the works of Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Truth be told, I'm not more deserving of the code for Fantasian than any one of your subscribers. I have been a huge fan of Final Fantasy since the very first NES game. I own all of them, with FF6 being my all time favorite. When I found out that Fantasian was going to be locked to Apple, I was heartbroken. I'm just so grateful that everyone now has the opportunity to play something made by the true masters. I love your channel David, and have been subscribers for a long time. Although I admit, I watched your oldest videos when they first came out, before you showed yourself on Camera, but I wasn't subscribed at that point. I'm so glad I am now though and I'm able to get news based on my favorite genre on a regular basis. The Hank you for all that you do David ❤
I do have Jeanne D’Arc for the PSP but I haven’t played it. I bought a ton of PSP games for cheap about 10 years ago before the prices went up. Though I’m not a tactical RPG fan I have French ancestry and I’ve always been fascinated with French history. I know it might not be a popular opinion but I think my favorite RPG of the year is Secret of Varonis. It’s definitely a love letter to the Final Fantasy Legend/Saga series.
I was going to play Fantasian this month but in the end I bought in discount SaGa Scarlet grace ambitions, Secret of mana remake and Sekiro. With less than 60 bucks, amazing experiences Sekiro and SaGa in the other hand Secret of mana remake is rough to play after playing Visions this year, but is manageable. Definitely when I finish Mana and 3 routes of Scarlet I will play Fantasian.
I played the demo of Romancing 2, and Fantasia looks incredible so I’d like to play both. But I’m holding off, because I’m getting Sakuna Rice and Ruin for Christmas. And maybe Unicorn Overlord. And I’m working through all the Ys games.
I do not know if I deserve Fantasian Neo Dimension the most but i do know that I have been chomping at the bit to play this game when I first started hearing about it. Then i found out it was only going to be sold through apple....I was so bummed. I am not an apple fan and refuse to get one even for a game developer I want to see keep going. I just also want to add that you are my go to for rpg news and reviews :D you do an awesome job on here and get me to laugh in every video you post. Keep up the Great work David.
Why: The game is ungrindable for the most part on Apple Arcade. Kids and I got to the last boss and just couldn't quite cut it. We did all the exploration and grinding we could, but in the end watched a YT video for the ending. I would looooove to replay this gem on normal mode with the kids during lunch breaks from school. Cheers
I’m surprised Eyudin gets so much praise. It didn’t capture the magic for me like the Suikoden games did. 8-bit adventures 2 and beyond Galaxyland were 2 great ones this years imo
I considered 'Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes', but I heard performance was a little _iffy_ - and they were releasing DLC for it, too, which made buying the physical version less appealing. I'm going to wait and hope for a potential complete edition on the Switch's successor. 😊
Miss the days when I would have had the time to play the love out of all these, instead of having a backlog of RPGs I want to get to some day. Glad to see the genre expanding after a few periods of time where they were shunned.
Granblue Relink and RS2 are amazing :) I also have Eiyuden but not got to playing it quite yet, too many amazing RPGs this year. I still need to get Fantasian too! Gosh I'm still wishing we get Lost Odyssey Switch or PS5 port as well someday :)
I don't know if I'm the most deserving person to win Fantasian, but I wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed your channel ❤ I follow on twitter also and just want to spread the peace and love. Keep working hard, you'll get that 100k soon!
I played Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and I'm confused that you think most people wouldn't have. Personally, my favorite character in that game is the whip-wielding girl, Ferry (though I admit it's been long enough since I played that I had to look up her name). I didn't play Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes, just a little bit of the previous game Eiyuden Chronicles: Rising. I played part of the demo of Romancing Saga 2. I watched part of Square Enix's pre-release livestream of Fantasian: Neo Dimension, but the abrupt camera shifts got to me. I rented the PSP version of Jeanne d'Arc years ago and kind of liked it (despite generally disliking strategy rpgs), but I haven't played the remake.
I bought Romancing SaGa2, I played FANTASIAN on Apple Arcade, hopefully it’s easier. Good for Apple for funding the game for Mistwalker. I know some people grumble about it, but funding matters.
I'd love to play Fantasian: Neo Dimension because Sakaguchi has gone on record saying FF9 is his favorite Final Fantasy, and that just happens to be my favorite too. Since he is a man of great taste, I can trust him in creating a great new game in Fantasian. Not only that but you have Nobuo Uematsu in what could be the last game that he composes for. The end of an amazing era.
I've been already debating whether I should get Metaphor or Fantasian NEO DIMENSION the last week, as I haven't been able to pick up any new titles this year(last new game I bought was BG3). I'm a huge fan of early Final Fantasies(first one I really got to love was 8), have played through any mainline game I have been able to afford, which was way more when I was younger, but the last couple years haven't been great to me. More than Sakaguchi though, my true love of the series is Uematsu's music, which is what actually inspired me to want this game. I'm in the top .05% of listeners to Nobou Uematsu on Spotify.
I've had to miss out on all of these (minus Granblue), plus many others this year like Metaphor and FF16. As a disabled person unable to support himself, my only source of games are gifts from a wonderful friend who supports me instead. But I can't very well ask him for every release under the sun, and on top of that this year was especially dry after he lost his job at the end of last year and only got a new one again recently, just in time for DQ3 remake. Shame it had to happen in such a jam-packed JRPG year, but it is what it is, and I consider myself blessed that someone even cares about me enough to make sure I even have some form of entertainment in the first place.
Almost bought Fantasian NEO DIMENSION the other day. I kinda regret not getting it. Instead I ended up getting Bravely Default 2 and Triangle Strategy (they were like $20 a piece). I'm 10 hours into BD2 and still unsure of the game (I really liked the first game [except for the endgame]). I remember the fist game being grindy, but this game just feels so much worse, or I'm just not sure how to play it. Or maybe I'm still in an Octopath Traveler 2 mindset... I don't know. Haven't done TS yet though. As for your list: Granblue Fantasy: Relink - good game. I didn't get too far into it though. I think I got it a couple of weeks before another huge release and it unfortunately didn't get back to it, despite enjoying my time with it. Will definitely go back and play it again though. Eiyuden Chronicles - I got about 20 hours into it. Huge fan of Suikoden 1&2, and for some reason this just never scratched that itch. It always felt like something was missing. I enjoyed my time with it, wanted to play more and was a pretty fun game, but maybe it was my expectations and nostalgia lens I just never got further and never felt the need to go back. Romancing SaGa 2 - I wanted to get this one, I was pretty stoked for it. It was going to be a day one purchase for me. I was like a 4 year long player on their gacha game (Romancing SaGa: Re-deminSion, or some crap like that). It was the only game like that I played, it was mainly something that kept me busy on slow nights at work. Right before this game came out they announced they were pulling the plug on the gacha game. I spent so much time and effort (and surprisingly little money as it was a very friendly F2P game). It was an odd hurt and couldn't get back into the series. My personal best RPG of the year though (despite so many freaking amazing RPGs) is Unicorn Overlord. Holy crap what an amazing game. The mechanics are perfect for the min-maxer, or just the casual player. You have so many options, none of them are bad, and really can plan around your own gameplay style. The gameplay is so spot on... It was one game I actually didn't want to beat, I found various different diversions to try to pad out the time. I just didn't want it to end. Oh well, just gonna have to play it again from the beginning. Plus it's a revival of the amazing Ogre Battle game, which there needs to be more like it. Honorable mentions: Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D, a fantastic old school JRPG that fans of the genre shouldn't miss. If you like turn based JRPGs, this is a remake of a classic genre defining game with all of the quality of life features you could want. Visions of Mana - great ARPG in a classic setting with a pretty good story, great customization and gameplay. The epitome of a B tier game. It's not breaking any new ground, but it's gonna be a good time the whole way through. Might not be game of the year contender, but probably top 10. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - I played the previous game so much I got tired of it before I could beat it (I got about 80 hours into and just side tracked to death). If you are a completionist, this going to be on par with the last game if not worse. If you're new to the series, it's a turn based JRPG. However it's very heavily story focused. Think Metal Gear of the RPG world. 2 hours of cutscenes (very well done btw, some of the best in the biz), then 20 minutes of gameplay, then an hour or so of cutscenes, then you're 10 hours into the game and you can play. Now imagine 50 different mini games you could play in the middle of all that, a lot of them have good bonuses for doing them. 2 of the main mini games are Pokemon, with it's own storyline and gameplay mixed in with the gameplay of the main game, and Animal Crossing. Yeah, they're not as great as the original games, they're obvious knock offs, but not too far off from them either. You could spend a couple hundred hours into the game if you tried to do everything. Is it worth it though? Actually, yeah. They really revamped the battle system enough where there is strategy, you can position yourself to take advantage of items or hit multiple opponents, or knock them to other party members who will damage. There's actually strategy. And a lot of the early fights actually bring a challenge. It's a huge step up from the previous game.
Two of these are in my top 5: EC and RS2. Town building is nothing spectral in either though, it is jus go get items & upgrade basically which both could have just happened based on the story. Picked up Fantasia, but have not gotten into it yet sadly. They did not do enough for Jeanne D'arc for me over the original.
I really hope they make a prequel to Re:Link that covers the story before it. I like the story they covered in Re:Link but I'd still like to have gotten all the story in those "character episodes" as actual playable parts of the game. I also really wanna play Fantasian since my entire schtick is "weird" RPGs so I feel like it's right up my alley. Not sure when I'll get to it though since I'm on a bit of a budget crunch for the next couple months while some of my yearly bills come due. I'm sure there's some other RPGs I should have played but we'll have to see what else I can afford in the next couple months haha.
Personally, I've had a ton of fun with Sakuna, of Rice and Ruin! A sequel is in the works too, so now is a great time to get into the game! Also, I'd love to get my hands on Fantasian Neo Dimension! Unfortunately my budget is a bit tight after getting Metaphor, so getting the code would be amazing!
I gotta be honest, I don't think Eiyuden was all that great. Some of the choices they made just did not feel good for 2024. When we have stuff like Metaphor with snappy interfaces with incredibly done artwork, I'm not sure it's too much to expect a baseline of snappiness for menus and ease of navigation. An area I feel like Eiyden and Fantasian both fall grossly short in.
Hey David, love your work here and really appreciate the giveaway! I'm pretty sure I'm committing blasphemy by only finishing a single Sakaguchi game, that being FFT, all others (mainline FFs, Lost Odyssey, Chrono Trigger) I couldn't finish with the respective console dying on me real close to the finish line. I recently got a decent PC though and I'd love to give Fantasian a shot. Help me break this curse!
As much as I would a copy of Fantasia, I am not deserving of the code did I don't have a pc that can run it at the moment. I did want to take a sec to say thank you. I loved rpgs since I was a kid but then I got trapped in the f2p...liveservice shooter model. But I stumbled on to your channel and if it weren't for you and 2 other channels that I found at the same time, I wouldn't have gone back to playing rpgs. You reminded me why I love the genre and put some great games on my radar
Wouldn't say I'm the most deserving of a free code for Fantasian, but I wouldn't hate it 😅 100 Heroes is the only game in the video I actually played. Now I'm looking more at Romancing Saga Remake because of your coverage. Keep up the amazing work David
The only game on this list I have actually played is Jean D Arc, and that is because I have the PSP version. I am behind with my RPGs, and a free copy would get me going in the right direction
I nominate myself as most deserving of fantasian just because I think Sakaguchi era of FFs was the best, and the current era without him isn't as great.
Not me deserving Fantasian Neo , because FFVIII is the best FF game ever made. But also because I have been wanting to play it since it released on Apple Arcade. I just haven't been able to play it.
That Romancing SaGa 2 remake looks incredible. I played the demo and was very impressed by it. Hope to pick it up soon.
My only reservations towards ReLink are (1) people say the single player campaign it's too short, about 12-15 hours, and (2) most of the fun seems to be reserved for the multiplayer, but that comes with issues, mainly the people who use hacks.
I think it's overrated. But it looks and sounds pretty.
it was a lot of fun, the main campaign is pretty short, around 20-30 hours at the most? but the post game content is huge (and also continues the story) and really the focus of the game is on the characters. The gameplay is smooth and addictive, really is worth it in my opinion.
@@b00g3rs21 agree with what he said ,story has amazing set pieces and doesn't overstay it's welcome and endgame is really great too and can be totally played solo with any character you like,
I mean there's a reason it's sitting on overwhelmingly positive recent reviews on steam rn...
The campaign is shorter. But the sheer amount of side content is where it’s at.
In all fairness to Euyadin: a lot of random guys in basements make some banger games: Chained Echoes, Jack Move, and Stardew Valley jump to mind.
and for RPG, Ast Libra, took one guy 15 year to make and the effort show
This why I love this channel. It’s like a JRPG safety-net to make sure you never miss an ounce of nostalgia gaming goodness (NGG)!!
Granblue Fantasy: Relink was a pretty high-profile release, wasn't it? On the other hand, any Square Enix RPG that isn't Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest needs all the signal boosting it can get these days...
*Wish* that GranBlue Fantasy Relink *would* come to the Switch.
Agreed
That's incredibly kind of you to say!
David today it was announced the original 2nd og legend of heroes games is avaliable on switch 😊
I wish they would have brought the Jeanne D Arc remake to PC.
Currently playing that now!
Is this a remake? Or is it just the PSP-version?
what remake?!
It's just a port @@kommentarmeister1217
It’s not a remake. They updated the sprites just a little bit but it’s not even a remaster quality tbh
I got Grand blue, and Fantasin now the other three are look into. Thank you so much
This list is amazing.
Your vids are so awesome to watch during finals week. Calms my nervs
Glad you're finding the videos relaxing!
I even went all out for the FFVII remake Collector’s Edition with the Cloud and the iconic bike
What excites me most about Neo Dimension is its incredible Panorama system.
Besides that, great little list of very overlooked games that deserve to be taken a closer look at
Hi David! I bought jeanne d'arc and can't wait to give it a try. Have a blessed day!
Hope you have fun with it!
So happy to see Fantasian on consoles! Played it on Apple Arcade years ago and I’ve been waiting for a wide release. Now everyone gets to enjoy it!
Great choices, I completely forgot Jeanne Darc was re-issued again (dammit, I want a physical of that again). Great as always David!
I played the first 3. Didn't care for Eiyuden, but loved the other two. Still have #5 for my PSP, but haven't yet played it.
Romancing saga 2 remake is my goty, and i loved eiyuden it was so good going in with tempered expectations
As soon as I saw Jeanne on PS5 I got it immediately. Who would have ever thought an rpg about Joan of Arc would be so good?
Fantastic list! I really need to try Romancing Saga 2 and Jeanne d’Arc!!! Both look so good!!!
They really are!!
Awesome video -- absolutely banger picks!!
Glad you liked them!
Dear Mr.
David continuing to advocate for the sexiness of Granblu always makes my day
I played all these
Hey, that's a great list.
I do love your videos! Gotta ask.. how many of these are available on Switch in the UK? X
Bought Granblue Fnatasy Relink and Neo Fantasian! They are chillin on my desk until I finish a few other games. You were right this year was a banger for rpgs. Got me very busy and catching up lol
Glad you found so many great RPGs to enjoy!
Oh and I am definitely adding Eiyuden Chronicle and Romancing Saga 2 to my wish list! Those look amazing. Solid 2024 list overall. Thanks for the recommendations!
I'm glad you found some new games to add to your list!
jeanne darc was suprisingly good and im so glad I choose to play it this year.
Rebirth was a masterpiece. Everything I wanted in a remake.
Welcome aboard!
I would love this game because I've been researching and looking forward to it for around a year and a half. It looks so beautiful and amazing.
My personal favorite was probably The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak. It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to start the series.
It’s wild how much this channel grew from the original Mother playthrough where everyone had to take a shot when David said YIKES! to suns out guns out and now this guy is going to gaming release conventions.
Chrono Cross will always be a meme, Marle sucks and FF9 needs a proper re release
I loved playing Jeanne D'arc on the ps5. It was so much fun!
Grandblue fantasy relink was a total banger. Even just playing the 20ish hour story was totally worth it.
I'd absolutely play that last game if it ever comes to Switch. Looks good!
Great list. Fantasian looks great. And gran blue was a blast.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel!
That's a great choice for your favorite RPG of the year!
Wow look at that wide range of variety for Eiyudan game mechanics. 100 characters? What a large roster. Might pick up.
I really hunger for that classical RPG game, and hearing about Fantasian -I realize this is the itch I need.
David!! I have them all, Joan of arc on psp, but I’m thinking about getting the remake! I’ve got a problem!!
I’m playing Jeanne D’Arc and I’m really enjoying it!
I think its cool that we got a remake of Romancing Saga 2, my only gripe is their faces. I wish they looked more relative to Tomomi Kobayashi's work
Why: The game is ungrindable for the most part on Apple Arcade. Kids and I got to the last boss and just couldn't quite cut it. We did all the exploration and grinding we could, but in the end watched a YT video for the ending. I would looooove to replay this gem on normal mode with the kids during lunch breaks from school.
Cheers
That's a bummer! The grind can be a real obstacle sometimes!
I feel that, it's hard to keep up with all the great games that come out.
I don't know if I'm the most deserving person to win Fantasian, but I wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed your channel ❤
I follow on twitter also and just want to spread the peace and love. Keep working hard, you'll get that 100k soon!
Thanks for the kind words!
It's great to see that you've tried both of them!
I mean he's composed for several since fantasian 😂
@@regulator18E lol oh I meant composing on a game that's created by Sakaguchi
Uematsu's music is legendary, and Fantasian NEO DIMENSION is a real treat!
As for your list:
Granblue Fantasy: Relink - good game.
The fact I own each of these games and played them tells me that yes these are must play games 🤣
They did make prequels to Re:Link. They weren’t released outside of Japan, though. I think they were mobile gacha games or something like that.
The ones I did play were enough. Much love.
The only one of these I've played is Romancing SaGa 2, and only the demo, but I really liked what I saw!
I loved Eiuyden Chronicles. It had flaws, but I had a great time with it and it got me really hyped for the Suikoden 1 & 2 remakes.
I have played 2 of these this year.
Wouldn't say I'm the most deserving of a free code for Fantasian, but I wouldn't hate it 😅 100 Heroes is the only game in the video I actually played. Now I'm looking more at Romancing Saga Remake because of your coverage. Keep up the amazing work David
Thanks! Glad you're checking out Romancing Saga Remake!
@@davidvinc downloaded it a few hours ago and have been loving it. Needed something to play after Metaphor and Ys Nordics.
The only game on this list I have actually played is Jean D Arc, and that is because I have the PSP version. I am behind with my RPGs, and a free copy would get me going in the right direction
You got me with estudien chronicles whatevere its called got me intrested
I nominate myself as most deserving of fantasian just because I think Sakaguchi era of FFs was the best, and the current era without him isn't as great.
Not me deserving Fantasian Neo , because FFVIII is the best FF game ever made. But also because I have been wanting to play it since it released on Apple Arcade. I just haven't been able to play it.
I am about to beat Eiyuden Chronicle. I completed everything and got every character. Great Game!
