- I apologize for the low quality of the video captures, specially the underwater scene, i used some primitive equipment. I try to keep as the original intro as possible, with respect of Eric Chahi's vision and art. This project was in my mind for a year now, and took me 3 months to complete. Hope you guys like it :)

Amazing. As a fan of the game and as CG artist, this is a really nice job.
Played this as a teenager when it came out. As I got my Amiga out of the basement now, I remembered this game, wrote it to adf and played it the first time since then yesterday. I still love the intro. And this remake is very very cool! Congrats! =)

I Remembered my Amiga 500, this was absolutely amazing when I saw original Intro in the 90-ties. When I saw this nowadays, I feel the same. By the way, very interesting in the beginning, an animated floppy of the new Kickstart on the CRT screen...
Definitely did this whole story justice with that Amiga desktop in the beginning. Beautiful work! Glad to see how great of an impact this game has on everyone.

This is fantastic. One nice touch was that the drink can has the old-fashioned type of pull tab that comes off when you open it. That's amazing attention to detail. I don't even know how you managed to find a can that had one.

I can still remember watching someone play this in the local Amiga Store (remember those?) back in the day. Everyone was just blown away by it.
omg i love it. they did all the same camera angles even the part where he walks in to the camera and then away from it as a transition. good times. Now if only they can remake the entire playthrough.
I like the remake of the intro. Kept the scenes and the atmosphere of the original game but added a few more elements that would make it better.
Soon as that elevator door closed, I was eagerly anticipating those choral notes, and there they were... :)

"Oh my God" - were the first words out of my mouth when viewing this. To say I was floored would be an understatement. When can I get this masterpiece. Its reworking is positively beautiful, your talents need to be shared with the rest of the world.
I REALLY love this! The only complaint I have is that you give the impression that Lester works for someone else, or the work he is doing is not his own, which really goes against the game's canon. Lester's experiment is an entirely solo project. Other than that, this is impeccable!
Lester Knight Chaykin Thanks... And you are not the only one thinks that way.. The idea was that for the past 20 years, i was thinking that he works for some one, and he happened to work late, and the only one in the facility.
Yeah I agree with this, cuz' Lester really is Eric Chahi. Kudos for thinking through of why would a guy runs a lab for particle accelerator by himself.

Agreed. This is remarkably well done, and I loved the attention to details from the original masterpiece. My only critique is the dialog in the beginning. The original game had no vocal dialog, and I think that strongly contributed to it being globally well-received. Sure, there are some details in English, such as in the lab, but many people in the world work with technology in another language when it is not their primary tongue. Aside from that (which wasn't even much of a demerit), this video is superb. Good work!

really nice man, great work, you respected the work of Chahi there. Just bought the 20th anniversary edition on steam 3 days ago and finished it today, that was truly a great game.

Yeah, but you know what'd happen. Producers and writers getting involved. They want to add their own "ideas" (cliches) to proof they earn that money. It'd go to "and then the hero falls in love" and "big evil final boss" then producers pulls out, actors being replaced, project switches studio...
This is called a movie's development hell and happened to many many projects. So IMHO better leave Another World, Half-Life and other great games alone. :/

I gotta say thats some excellent work there! great attention to detail even with the Soft drinks can having the authentic rip top opening! Makes me wish they'd revisit this franchise.

Wow, this brought back memory's of the game and how i loved to play it so much. Don't apologize for the low quality capture's sir. I thank you for the video. It was amazing and indeed a great Job you and your team did. I would definitely see this in theaters if it was on the big screen.
OMG.. this almost brought me tears lol... i finished this game i think, more than 20 times.. this was the game that marked me more. The scenario and the environment of the game, was just out of that decade and was genius.

I'm quite shocked how well you pulled that off. Kudos for adding the water that switched places/dimensions with Lester in the course of accident.
On a side, personal note - in the original game I never fully understood what was happening at 1:56, because my brain somehow fixed itself on the wrong reception of the visuals. Only today, because of your talent I got it all sorted out... It was a window, a goddamn window YOU STUPID BRAIN OF MINE!

That is what I expect from 25th anniversary edition, it's faithful to original and it's up to date. Just one person don't handle the whole project but dev team should respect Eric's vision as you did.

I can't believe you apologised for the quality! This is utterly fantastic and you did not miss a beat. I agree with M3n747 that there should have been no dialogue. Perhaps you could have had the guy send Lester a page message instead? Anyway, aside from that this is a masterpiece. I particularly love the moment when Lester suddenly appears underwater. I want to play this game again because of you! Amazing, amazing job!
Seriously, this is REALLY AMAZING. The only thing I would modify is the actor look, I think a little bit of rotoscoping/cell-shading like in "A Scanner Darkly" would improve the general feel and merging between the backgrounds and the character.

I love what you've done here. Another World was a game I played while bored on night on summer vacation from high school. i got hooked on the game for it's animation on a SNES, and ended up beating it overnight.
My only suggestion would be the tentacle coming out of the water at the end. in the original, if you stand by the pool too long, it reaches up and snags you. Might be interesting for it to happen, but go away once he's at the ledge?
