2025-01-14 Peavine Falls

Peavine Falls is a nice short hike in Oak Mountain State Park. The trail may be short but it is definitely a rugged one with some steep rocky muddy areas to contend with. But the waterfall is definitely worth the effort, and it was flowing on this January day after a recent snowfall melt. There is also a lower falls which is more like a cascade, but also worth a little extra hiking and scrambling. Then to finish the day of hiking came a glorious sunset from Cabin #3 on Tranquility lake.
