Indian Government should provide extra security to these great scientists , engineers and people who helped us achieve this as China , Pakistan and USA might try to sabotage this achievement.
India has been working on this technology for long - 3-4 decades. We had problem in getting the uranium reqd for first stage. From 2nd stage the thorium is used. We have terrific quantities of thorium. Its lucky that we have been working on thorium. USSR was the leader followed by India. I have handled the drawing of PFBR in 1985. It took 40 years - still its OK. We can do our own tech. As its a breeder tech, the fuel keeps growing. In a matter of 20-30 years this can develop 50% energy with very low pollution and climate changes. Other energies like solar and wind , hydrogen will supply all energy reqd for the country - no fuel imports.
According to you, by 2070, can we be net 0 carbon emission country if we keep on working like this? And what are the challenges to become net 0 carbon emission country?

One more advantage of Th-232 based reactors (not mentioned in the video) is that they are not at a risk of nuclear meltdown. Because they don't use pressurized water to cool down it's fuel rods (the fissionable fuel is directly produced in-situ by fast moving neutrons), there is zero risk of a nuclear meltdown. (Like Chernobyl for example). Thorium based reactors are much safer and can be built closer to residential areas.
