- I am proud of my work with Andrew Lownie in 2024.
He has been sounding the bell about Government cover-ups, the censorship of history,
lack of transparency & accountability for many, many years.
His best-selling biographies reveal uncomfortable truths & many surprising discoveries!
His appearances on The Vintage Read Show allowed me to explore various topics and people who have received the “Lownie treatment.”
From Lord Louis Mountbatten’s dark secrets to the possible mysterious murder of John Costello, these conversations have only led to more questions.
I look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2025.

It's been great Shauna, the discussions are really interesting! Look forward to more xx happy new year
Intelligence is alive and well
I'm glad you're planning more! Love these conversations! ❤
I really enjoy your collaborations with Andrew, and look forward to more in 2025 🙂
I am a bit uncomfortable with these interviews. **However,** I am not sure why. So, I am keeping an open mind on Mr. Lownie and hope that I can resolve my discomfort one way or the other.
I truly hope Andrew Lownie will write a book on the Harkles. All the books written about them was only very surface. I believe I will not be the only one hoping that someone will dive deep on them and reveal the truth. Not their truth but THE TRUTH.
I'm with you! I would love that. 👍👍👍
Great idea. Written by a historian with a historical perspective.
I totally agree 👍🏽 even Lady C seems to be protecting the family when in fact the family are complicit. Undeniably they are COMPROMISED & COMPLICIT… in league with the WEF, deep state & the globalist let’s restructure the entire world agenda. GO ANDREW!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Don’t you think that Charles’s proximity to Mountbatten & of course Jimmy Savile makes him quite a sus figure??
@Happinc No one is above the law. King, Queen, Prince etc. As I call out the Harkles, I too call out those who act outside the law. Those who act outside the line should be revealed and call out.
Shauna, you are a wonderful interviewer. I appreciate that you prompt detailed discussion and let your guest speak without interrupting as so many so-called interviewers do.
And Shauna, you are always very well researched/prepared
I am so thankful for these honest discussions you have had with Andrew L. There is so much corruption and deceit and we, the people, need and want to hear the truth.
It’s amazing how difficult it is for Andrew or others to get access to certain files ! Glad he doesn’t give up !
Always enjoy when you have him on for a talk 😊
Thanks Shauna, I loved your interview with Andrew. In my opinion, if a public figure does things that can't stand the light of day or has things to hide, than they should not have done those things. Else you have to withdraw from public life. Public figures should be figures that example virtue and decency, they should stand for what is righteous. So i can only admire Andrew for seaking the truth. It made me think of two quotes of Mathama Ghandi:
Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.
And:
You assist an administration most effectively by obeying its orders and decrees. An evil administration never deserves such allegiance. Allegiance to it means partaking of the evil. A good man will therefore resist an evil system or administration with his whole soul.
Andrew Lownie is a maverick. My greatest admiration.
Harry doesn't get blocked as a vexatious litigant does he. He should be.
Great point
💯 Agreed !!!!
Yes! Everything that comes out of his mouth is vexatious
@maureenball6733 why because he is telling the truth?
@@specialkthoughts4830Megsy is that you ?
Sad to hear the ongoing troubles accessing information. Glad to hear Andrew's determination to carry on. Thanks Shauna
I wonder if there is any country who doesn't keep certain files close.
Shauna this is a great compilation of Andrews’s time interviewing with you! He is such a fascinating and tenacious warrior for truth and transparency! Keep up your great work!
I appreciate Andrew Lownie and agree with his views on censorship!
Love this bloke. Thank God for people like him with tenacity, brains, great articulation and writing skills. A rare soul! Shauna's the same, in my book. But prettier and gentler!
Wow, what an eye-opening interview. Lownie truly gets to the bottom of all his stories, he leavesno stone unturned. Great guest, Shauna. You were brilliant.
I have had problems in the past getting open records in my town. Many town departments and police chiefs were corrupt. We had to get the state Attorney General's office to order them to provide the records. It was a citizen effort and we succeeded in getting all of them out, and the Police Chief lost his law officer license. Corrupt people get into places of power with a lot of energy, but too many citizens don't want to be the ones to step up and struggle through the proper process to get the worms and clean up the government wherever they find problems. Ooooh, governments hate open records.
Most families also have members & situations that they do not mention. It's not just applicable to the Royals.
They always seem to make any inquiry onerous with bureaucracy.
Fabulous interview Shauna, and i like Andrew very much. Very brave man . Will buy the book ❤xx
Great admiration for Andrew Lownie. 😊
We Brits have known for decades about Louie Mountbattan’s liking for young boys and Edwina Mountbatten being the lover of Pandit Nehru, the first leader of independent India. These issues have had dedicated programmes dealing with these issues. There are other things thst we know of.
Yep yep!
Us indians have heard plenty of rumors about Edwina and Nehru's affair and Louie's perversion.
@@alienated4747American here. Also heard and read about these things. Sort of thought this had become common knowledge?
There has been any least one bio of Louie Mountbatten (one I read some two decades ago but forgot the name of the author) detailing his ferocious ambition coupled with less than stellar professional outcomes (?) and utter selfishness (my take) that made me wonder about his heroic reputation. The book was not h*ll bent on dishing the dirt for its own sake.
That biography dealt with adult liaisons of both Mountbattens in a somewhat discreet way. The one name I do remember was Nehru's, said to be a lover to both spouses. Mountbatten's penchant for boys, whether underage or on the cusp of being legally consenting young persons, was not explored. The rumors and the alleged facts have gained momentum, as far as I'm aware, in recent years.
As far as Edwina M. goes, even one of her daughters (Patricia?) did speak about the revolving door of young officers when in India. Edwina came across, to me, as a 'champagne socialist' and utterly self centered. It seems her main goal in life was to satisfy whatever she desired then and there, no sense of consistent responsibility towards family and community. It is a very harsh take on my part but if even her daughter(s) could be so clinical about her/their mother, I can justify being shocked every time another person lifts the veil surrounding this couple's life.
It is my understanding that competent sailors would happily have pushed Mountbatten overboard and sailed away pronto if they could. He was a disaster to the safety of the fleet. His obnoxious peccadillos didn't aid his case either.
@@SierraNovemberKiloA victimizer isn’t a good candidate for leadership. IMO. It shows, to me, insensitivity to the weak and powerless.
Shauna, thank you for all the interviews you have done with Andrew Lownie; I have learned so much.
Mr. Lownie has a LOT of work to do! So many of these egotistical narcissists are being revealed!
I can't wait for the book on P Andrew... Wow, wow, wow.
❤❤❤❤❤
Great idea Shauna and a good reminder that what Andrew is fighting for is for all of us. Brave and important ideals and ideas❤
Thanks for this 'roundup' with Andrew. Looking forward to more interviews with him I 2025.
Mr Lownie has written fascinating biographies highlighting how important it is to have transparent and accessible information from our institutions that should not be above law and accountability. I can’t wait for his next one on Prince Andrew.
Fair play to Andrew Lownie! Wishing him all the very best for 2025!
I remember my father saying that the express Newspaper loathed Mountbatten but he would never say why . Now I know!!
Good morning! It’s 4:15 in the morning Orlando, Florida time. Nice to find a friend to keep me company until I go back to sleep😊
Me too 3:49am Arkansas.
I have learned much from the interviews you do with Andrew and I really appreciate you and Andrew. Thank you both
I absolutely LOVE your videos with Mr. Lownie. They’re always so interesting and informative. I also love the fact that you ask the questions and allow your guests to answer them without interrupting or talking over them. Thank you. I’m very much looking forward to reading his book about the Yorks.
Great chat Shauna and Andrew! Totally agree that there needs to be greater transparency of royal finances - not just public money but also any private money made via their "position".
The distinction between “working royal” and “born into the royal family” is being drawn tighter all the time.
105 years is reasonable. Files once opened should not be re closed. Once the knowledge is out there historians cannot recheck the evidence. What Andrew has said on the internet today is now out there as part of the record - but we have no primary source.
@@janeknight3597 sorry I disagree on 105 years - if it isn't going to harm anyone or any organisation or the government/people of the UK then it is far too long.
Would you like your personal finances bandied about. They are frugal & good investors bc they have access to people in the know. But it is still their private finances. Their life is not that great so at least leave them some privacy & dignity. We don't own their souls.
Even the officials you vote for in parliament/local councillors are not required to provide any of their personal finances. Those people have access and the ability to spend public money than royals.
The King publishes his accounts annually so it is on the record.
A couple of thoughts ......I had an experience with a government agency that led me to the understanding that those who control the files control the game ..... and as regards the 'second born son', one can only surmise that holding the nose no longer suffices when faced with a history of monumental entitlement and arrogance.
Really admire Andrew Lownie!
Good morning Shauna. It is just before 6am Nova Scotia time. I am watching/listening to this conversation for the third time. Every time my chin hit the floor, I missed the next bit Andrew said. Thank you both for this conversation. WOW 💕😊🇨🇦
Good morning Nova Scotia hi from Ontario Shauna is the best
It really makes you wonder just what is being shielded or hidden.
Andrew’s experience’s sound like something out of a Bond movie………
And also hidden, about those 2 supposedly stepped back.😮
I have just this minute finished ‘Traitor King’. Mind blowing! Andrew writes so well. I couldn’t put it down.
That's next on my reading list!
………maybe follow up with new book, ‘the king who had to go’ about the abdication………
Almost all VIP men had very dirty secrets that they work hard to bury. Sadly, uncovering those secrets may unintentionally cause more harm - especially for those who work hard to do good for the public. I am not saying to ignore them -- just wondering. Can't wait to read Andrew's book for sure.
Nice format you have for this interview. Easy to listen to.
I don’t believe a person’s private live needs to become public, unless illegal.
I agree. I wouldn't want my private life splashed all over the news. Well, not too many people know me so it wouldn't matter. Don't want it told about then don't do it!
The difference is these people receive public taxpayers funding and some of their private lifestyle and activities are suspect of being illegal and nefarious and abusive. To whom much is given, much is expected!!
Shauna, I'm just wondering what's the purpose of uncovering uncomfortable truths if no Justice would be served especially if they are dead. In the Andrew case however you look it, it tarnishes the entire royal family especially the Late Queen since it happened during her reign. As for royal finances, of what benefit will it be for the public to know how it's collected given that there's no respect for the monarch it may come tumbling down simply based on the fact of Costs of Living crisis. Somethings should be kept private even the late Queen knew that and she was above reproach in my opinion.
Yes she was. The purpose is to protect the RF as those that wish to do them harm have access to this sort of information. The best way to protect Prince William etc is to make a clear distinction between those that have done the wrong thing and those that do the right thing.
@thevintageread Shauna things are not as black and white as you assume it would. In todays world even facts are viewed with a subjective lense, opinions on facts are very diverse so there's no threshhold on what is right or wrong. You made reference to this in a recent video on topic of how the question of what is a woman is even debatable. I see what your saying but I don't think the outcome will be as pleasant as you believe it will be
I say this as member of a former colony, my grandparents were freedom fighters and there was a massacre of our community while Elizabeth II was on the throne. On that basis, many of country men don't respect her and blame her for the said atrocities. I share a different view which doesn't count for the families that lived through it.
@@BlueElla you are right.
I don't understand the motivation behind this. Its in a bad taste since people they accusing are no longer with us to defend what and why did they do or didn't do certain things.
And who do you think is going to bear the burn of atrocities of past? Obviously the current royal family.
Accusation of racism from HAnd M , however fase, did tarnish current royal's image.
Imagine what the nasty FACTS of the past from royal ancestors are going to do to the current royal family .
Absolute muck raking.
@@thevintageread I agree 👍 💯
Love your chats with Andrew they shed so much light on to things we just don’t know about Thank you both 👏👏💕💕💕
So much double dealing going on. Nothing new there! It’s good to have people clever enough to expose them.
What fascinates me is how people don’t want Diana’s ‘legacy’ ruined by the truth but the same people want the truth about Meghan and Harry told.
Diana’s legacy has been ruined by Harry and Meghan
after hearing this I am glad I am not a UK citizen.....it's bad enough here in the US in getting info....hence harry's questionable visa....
At this point I think all the royal finances should be absolutely candid . In the past year alone 3 senior members have had brushes with financial impropriety 😮😮
The King publishes his accounts annually. They are transparent.
I really, really enjoyed this, thank you! Your interviewing skills were excellent!
I can't wait for his book about the Yorks to come out next year and I'm really looking forward to reading along with you Shauna and your reviews and takes on it.
Shauna very interesting vlog. Imo & allegedly proof of “rules for thee but not for me” attitude is quite apparent on many fronts. Thank you. 😘💐
Fascinating, thank you Shauna for this informative and extremely interesting compilation . 🌟
I am currently listening to the audiobook of ‘The Traitor King’ and will certainly be looking forward to his next volume on Andrew and Fergie. I sure can see parallels in the life of the Windsors and the current life of the Harkles. They share a massive sense of entitlement!
I enjoy ur talks w Andrew very much Shauna ❤️💜💙
My admiration and respect of Andrew Lownie grows at every interview, Thank you VR! This man has "got it"
Excellent conversation. Happy New Year.
I have absolutely loved these discussions with Andrew Lownie - he has done such careful research and is balanced and fair -- and incredibly eye-opening.
Time for Andrew Lownie to do a deep dive on Charles😡
Ive read some comments from old age carers sharing your channel with our aging generation. Then they in return share thier experiences with the carers. So much history and first hand knowledge and true first hand stories about the royal family are getting lost out there as we speak 😢
I remember from the 50s all the rumours about the Mountbatten’s and other members of the royal family of course in those days the papers were not allowed to print anything detrimental towards the Royal family or their associates. But even then we were not stupid and we could see what was going on and what they were hiding. Good luck with your research it is right people should know all these things and make up their own minds. 👏🥂🍀
Extremely engaging interview; well researched questions results in answers of depth.
Hoover's FBI kept blackmail files on anyone in power and would put any ratty gossip in them.
It was said not long after Lyndon B. Johnson's presidency that his wife, Lady Bird, an admired and even loved First Lady, would ask her husband about salacious gossip recorded in Hoover's files. Now that was some juicy pillow talk!
Andrew interesting thing about it being the Queen who contacted the various Minsteries when proposals to 'plant' ? thousands of offshore Windfarms saying something like , I am not sure but don't I own the Sea Foreshore around the UK? To which she was informed oops yes that"s your, they negotiated with the Palace being offered the chance to manage the sites which they declined. Charles now is reaping in the huge benefits but has made a big donation for use by the poor (could not some of the money taken from the elderly heating allowance have been taken from that?). Seems the Queen was very financially canny, billionsire Charles seems a bit greedy and should return the sea foreshore back to the people especially in this time of huge fuel price increase and having to import from dubious suppliers also some of Charles good friends in hotter climates. Interesting how they became billionaires isn't it.
Although I admire Andrew’s skills and accept that it could be important to disclose unlawful habits/deeds of powerful people, I can see no merit in any way of discovering sexual habits of them, if NOT illegal. To pry into close personal relationships of others I find demeaning and prurient, no matter what the ‘public’ might find engrossing. In my opinion that sort of thing brings out the worst aspects of us humans. Such deep interest and quest for knowledge of this might even be called kinky itself!
It's about them using their position to access victims or because they have become involved in particular groups indulging in these behaviours and any blackmail that can be used. People of power - it's not just about the privacy of their bedroom
I believe it becomes relevant because a sexual deviant has a vulnerability which could be exploited by foreign powers or agents.
Also, it's probably worthwhile to examine these relationships and predelictions within the context of the time. Interracial relationships have been viewed very differently depending on the milieu of the period when the relationship occurs. Many queer relationships where once classed as psychological diseases by doctors during certain periods (often an intensified importance placed on religion during a period of history leads to this kind of classification, it seems), and when a relationship is itself classified as immoral or even criminal, this creates an avenue for coertion and blackmail.
@@55stripey55 That's a very good point and has been important at times. However to use i ton a widespread level to sell books and newspapers etc is not what I call admirable.
Sorry, 55stripey55 Wrong reply to you. Don't even know how to edit!
‘Harry is very thick even by Royal family standards’. Hilarious! Love Andrew Lowney
Watch the sound of freedom! Eyes opened about how widespread the predators are spread!
Don’t think we all need to know everything about everybody these people are gone and nothing can be done to them only hurts the innocent
What happened to those who were in JE's little Black Book? Anybody know?
There is critical information and there is muck raking..
The quote: "History is always written by the victors" comes to mind here. The past is susceptible to differing views of what the reality was at the time it happened compared to the differing moral codes of society or even the person who does the research.
Some things I believe are better left in the past. There could be security issues to the royal family to this present day, as to why certain things being shutdown to prevent such. The issue as to that scandal as to the second world war, certain alleged allegiances could damage the royal family as to the present day. Also that things are often difficult to disprove, especially that long ago, but are believed by some, especially those with a certain bias, as if facts, that instead being often simply hearsay or taken totally out of context.Look for example the allegations Harry and Meghan made about Archie, which in fact were nothing more than hearsay, that a conversation ever happened, and how King Charles and Catherine Princess of Wales were defamed by such.Look as to the royal family being accused of things that happened hundreds of years ago and that they are being asked to pay, that none of them personally were ever involved.Oprah in the Harry and Meghan interview wanted dirt on the royal family, because that was the ticket to a fortune whether it ever happened she would still make millions.
Yes I take your point however Meghan had no evidence and Andrew Lownie has reams of it and all his books had to be vetted by legal teams. It is really like comparing apples & oranges. Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
Another amazing and so interesting piece Shauna.
Cover-ups are not the business of the wealthy alone. Everyone covers up. Do we "common people" yell from the mountaintops things that we've done "wrong?" Nope. So, what's the motivation?
Us little people have practically no influence outside of our families and neighbors. The big wigs have more influence and may make laws that affect all of us. That is the difference.
@@bjbrown Still, common people cover up issues. It is a natural and universal reaction to troubles. Also, a common person-- by a single deed--can change history. They may not sell books.
The Mountbattens have been done to death.
I love you two together
Loved your book " The Mountbatttten's" Mr Lownie. Have read a few books about the last years of British rule of India and this was most eye opening. I'm going to read your other books. Happy New Years to you both and thank you Shauna for an interesting guest and interview.
Thank you for this interview. The story of covering up is terrifying. I know why Andrew keeps coming back. Because he knows you are really interested in him. I have seen other interviews and even Andrew was bored. I'm talking about Andrew Gold. His interview was a snoozefest. ❤❤❤
Wow - just...Wow!
I know Andrew wants to write books and needs information but its naive to think files won't be sealed for various reasons.
Even here in the backwaters of Australia, Andrew would face closed files concerning our government and other nations. They may or may not be open one day.
A closed file does not explicitly equal corruption.
He is one of the UK’s most renowned historians. He is talking about files that shouldn’t be closed and used to be publicly available.
Someone doesn't want this topic to get traction. Been constantly, clicking on the like button, it's not having it.
So interesting! We need more 😊
Andrew Lownie is the best investigative author. Fullstop.
Shauna I was so surprised to see an Australian archivist reading from King Edward VIII's letters to his "bit" on the excellent SBS series Every Family has its Secrets, now on NETFLIX. None too flattering, I would have to say. I was surprised since the royal family has also a hold over our national archives, too. It took years of legal argument to reveal letters between the Governor General & the Queen.
Shauna, I really enjoy your show. Also, love your hair. Any tips to have lovely bangs like yours?
Welcome to the David Irving club, Andrew Lowrie!
I wonder how Andrew and Shauna would feel if people exposed all their private life
Do you think a lot of this deviancy stems from public school boarding of the children of the 'aristocracy'?
Vexatious? Sounds just about right.
This is the protection that the plume and candle want back. It's the reason for fighting the security being removed .it's the IPP status and being able to slap a D order onto things that they desire and miss the most, even more than his family. He's so used to having all his wrong doings covered up, we only know a fraction of what he got up to until he stepped down from being a working royal , it makes you wonder what they have done since, that they need the men in grey suits that he hates so much, but needs their protection .
Shauna, your interviews are excellent, particularly Andrew Lownie and Lady Colin Campbell. The extensive subject matter touched on here offers a wealth of material worthy of closer inspection. My thoughts - Andrew's reference to Huw Edwards' child pornography as "sexual quirks" makes light of what is, in fact, a criminal act. It's important to make that distinction for the sake of child pornography victims everywhere, and for viewers who may think child porn is a "quirk" and not a criminal act. The proximity of the Queen's Funeral to Edwards' arrest, as well as Andrew's references to his research of past members of the Royal Family, may result in the 'horns effect' on the Royal Family which is a shame if material is unnecessarily sensationalised, or distorted without proper context.
Andrew's experiences of research are fascinating, if a little scary, his experiences relating to John Costello research, for example, need to be taken seriously. It also occurred to me that the letters and handwritten communications that Andrew seeks today are now often cyber-communications - making it possibly even more difficult to obtain for present-day and future research. Thank you for your work, Shauna. Always anticipated, and much appreciated. Viewer from NZ.
I’m so ready for his next book! Loved Charles III about the coronation.
Why the will of Prince Phillip closed until 2060?
All royal wills are kept sealed for decades after their death. Prince Philip is not being singled out.
Did i hear Andrew say Mountbattens wife was rumoured to be a communist Was she not an heiress
Hi Shauna ❤from N.S.W
……Andrew’s book, ‘The Traitor King’, is excellent, about KEVIII………
Shauna, when I buy Andrew Lownie's new book about the Yorks, do you think I could get him to sign it for me? I live in the US....was wondering....I am going to buy it as soon as it comes out, I would just love to have him sign it...don't know how that would happen since he is in the UK, and I'm in Little Rock Arkansas. US.
Andrew is fascinating! Cover up city!
it is in bad taste to discuss dead people's behaviour. They are no longer around to explain or defend their actions in a time before airplanes or recorded music. ( really long ago). your guest just want to cash in. "Everything should be known to everyone! " . No. that is what Royal life highlights. decorum, civility. Not all things should be shared.
Exactly
Ok, a lot people can have a pulmonary embolism during a longish flight and die a pretty quick death. Was he frothing at the mouth? Was he writhing in agony before his demise? Any signs of poisoning amongst eyewitnesses? I like people to back up insinuations and allegations before getting on board. This guy seems very knowledgable but I need just a bit more than that to be convinced.
I totally agree with you! I hope you get support, but doubtful 😔 most of the rich and others of influence, have connections! Us normals, are not even considered!
I’ve read the book. It’s very interesting.
All Lownie's work is interesting.. Eagerly, awaiting the forthcoming book.
loved the outfit changes! 🤣
Thank you, Shauna
I would like to see a true book wrote on diana. Every book skims over her faults and has her as a victim or angle.
