Tears flowing as I type, can’t help but to feel so many different emotions. For me this song hits me in my gut. I lost my husband three years ago. He was 40 years old. Healthy one day, ICU the next day and died not even 24 hours after that. As I reflect on these words in the song, “Sometimes it’s too late to make amends”.. it’s everything and it’s so real. I urge you all to say what you have to say, treat your partners well and don’t be a selfish bitch(at times I was). I only pray he can see me now and how much I’ve grown and changed for the better. I never got a chance to mourn my dad’s dead because I had to be strong for my mom and kids but every time I hear a song that reminds me of him I cry but THIS SONG did something totally different for me. It almost feel like this song allowed my heart to just break and hurt and I just sat and cried and thought of all the good memories we had. I’m crying as I wrote this message to you. Luckily she released a few songs between. I played Insecure and Sideline a lot (collab with Niia). For some reason it didn't feel as long as a wait, unlike the gap between Love Me Back and Reality Show even though they were 5 years apart too. This time around she didn't go into hiding, she's been on IG and done a few performances here and there. I'm just happy she's back.
