Solution for me : on the lock screen, answer the question "Like what you see" - "Not a fan". Then wait couple of sec. login, the run the lock screen again.. done.
how is this a thing? and also, when i leave my laptop for awhile, it sleeps on its own. I never setting my laptop to set sleep, i set never in power and battery setting. Why tf it puts on sleep and then my lockscreen change to windows spotlight with chinese character in it. Creepy tf out. I don't like when my laptop change setting on its own, and i don't even know it. Is this from windows update bug or something?
The issue for me was Bing generated. After I changed the settings of my Bing account (Language and region set) the issue was resolved. You can also delete Bing from the browsers you use. I never used it but it is the linked browser to the lock screen.

it's simple guys, i've try this and its work!!, right klik your desktop, klik personalize, go to lock screen, change background to slide show, run lock, wait lock run slide show about 30 second or until 1 minutes, sign in ho to personalize desktop again, lock screen turn back again to windows spotlight , fix..no chinese caracter again.
Why don't you explain WHY it is in chinese? That's the only important question, are we hacked or is it a virus? No sites so far bother to give any explanation why

Question is why would there be an error when updating the system? I've had this numerous times as well, which is a mystery why that happens.
