Agreed as well. Don't get me wrong, Marcus will always and forever be my favorite bass player of all time but it's like he's straying away from what I initially first was drawn too. Like his 90's version of Panther are way better than his 2000 version that have that Caribbean feel to it. I dunno....just personal preference....he's still a beast.

Marcus is a beast. For all the people that dont play bass, that solo (if you can believe it) is much harder than it looks. slapping that fast for that long is extremely difficult and will probably give you a better arms workout than doing 100 curls. this is an ELITE group second to none.

yeah. his tone as well. he's more into modern sound, i really like his tone on live and more, its just so vintage and you can really feel it. also i really like the lineups where it was kenny garrett on sax, patches steward on trumpet, and hirram bullock on guitar. shit i dont know how much i miss hirram right now.

The part after 3:20 simply blows my mind!

MAN!!! His tone was all that I cold think of when I first heard of him and heard him play. I was like.....that cannot be a bass....FRETTED at that. The next thing I knew was that I bought one and don't really think about any other bass besides an acoustic, a nice fretless and another rig. But Marcus's tone is the best around....no wonder people are having basses made that sound just like his. I know mine isn't exactly like his but I know it is like.1 percent off, lol. Look for Hiram on Panther!!

I love Marcus here, as sideman not as a leader.

And the riff after 4:00 Reminds me of 'Who knows' by Jimi Hendrix. Or something else.
