What an incredible piece of engineering. My parents bought the 350SD in 1993. This car was soo huge from the inside especially for us being kids sitting in the back seats. This car was lightyears ahead of it's competition.

Though I can appreciate your video and understand your passion for the car... I love the old 70's Mercedes the best of all.... that was when Mercedes had REAL passion for their cars.... they would hand lead the seams and spend hours upon hours insuring that their paint jobs were the best that man could put out.... their cars were magical back in the 70's..... it was all old school.... no ECU which has 1200 functions to include telling you your trunk lid bulb is burned out.... I wish you the best in happy motoring miles.... As for me.... Im stepping up the game a bit.... I see a Bentley in my future....

There is virtually no vibration when the engine starts. I wonder whether the V12 engine or the inline 8 cylinder engine configuration is smoother. I think the 8 cylinder inline crankshaft has 9 main bearings.
Yes! It was a common thing in the first year of production. Many dealers ordered it with that. More common on eurospec vehicles from 1991. Some even had 600SEL as well in a smaller font but with the same badge style
