      Yeah never do botox, especially around the eyes. I saw someone inexperienced and I believe the ligaments in my eyelids have been stretched and I now have levator disinsertion. I was reading a research paper from an occuloplastic surgeon in beverly hills and despite popular opinion it has been found that botox injections can infact permanentlychange your eyes. I have documentation and so do many others I have spoken to. They tell you everyone goes back to normal but we are not all the same and some injectors do not know what they are doing. Even skilled injectors have seriously harmed people. My injector told me oh well its the risk I took by getting the injections nothing she can do and even her director told me not to go to her again because shes still learning. Shes teaching hundreds of people how to inject every year and she barely has any experience or knowledge. Not only that botox is not actually as safe as they tell you. Since botox I have a whole bunch of issues I never had before injections. I was perfectly healthy and everytime I got them it gave me side effects, the last being the worst in which I felt like I was dying. My friends who get botox are all ill. Ones body is attacking itself and thinks her body is dying they cant find out why. Shes young, I’m young, again no issues prior to botox and extremely healthy. Theres something seriously wrong but they will never tell people because its a multi billion dollar industry. You should see how hard it is to find anything negative on it unless you know exactly what to search or use a different search engine besides google. Why? Because they pay google to keep these negative results hidden. Theres even an interview from the only lawyer to sue allegran which is why there is now a black box warning that we will never get to read. Anyone thinking of botox just know it has ruined thousands of peoples lives. I am part of a group with thousands of people in it experiencing side effects from botox. Please do your own research for anyone who sees this. Botox injections or any facial injections come with serious risks and side effects. Could it be just a small amount of the population who experiences this? Maybe, so its up to the individual to assess for themselves if the risk is worth it, although seemingly small.

      Do let it stop you! If you have a good injector this likely won’t happen! Happened to me but I was determined to have an injection where my injector warned me this could happen! And it went away within a couple days!

    I've definitely got slight eyedroop this time. I notice she injected right at the very end of my brows at the very end of the tail. It surprised me. So everything else is looking good, but I am having to deal with increased slack on outer edge of lid - making it harder to put my liner on and keep it there!
    Oh, and my eyelids felt heavier and still do. They kind of feel as if they've become deep set, rather than their normal rounded selves!
    I messaged her with pics. She said she can't really see it, but will have a look at my follow up in a couple of weeks and see what can be done.
    Funnily enough, it's feeling that she can't see the problem that makes me feel upset and unheard as a patient/client. Practioners need to realize that although we see ourselves up too close and worry about small things - many of us really do know our own faces very well and can see when something has gone wrong! Rant over.

    I’ve had over 15,000 units of Botox since 2002...90% for chronic migraines...every 3 months like clockwork...I’ve had 30+ injectors (neurologist, plastic surgeon, dermatologist)...on 4 continents...I get droopy lids about 50% of the time. I can’t believe it only occurs 3% of the time. It’s terrible having droopy eyes. Every doctor says ‘the other doctors’ didn’t do it right. Then sure enough, they cause the same droopy lids!

    • @viccosmeticinstitute
      @viccosmeticinstitute  5 лет назад +7

      When you say 'droopy lids', do you mean a single droopy eyelid or both eyelids? Or do you mean one or both eyebrows? Overinjection of the forehead with Botox can lead to droopy brows which is harder to avoid than a single droopy eyelid from having Botox in the frown.

    Last year, I had Botox to help lift my hooded eyelids. Sadly, it made my eyelids worse. I spent the past year using eyelid tapes, and recently I heard about PDO thread lifts. I booked an appointment for thread lifts today, but the practitioner told me that it wasn’t a good option. Instead, I was given dysport injections directly above my eyebrows, injections in the outer corners of my eyes, and instead of forehead injections, I was given the injections close to my hairline and between my eyebrows. I have a follow up appointment in two weeks, and I’m praying that I will achieve the eyelid lift I have been hoping to achieve. I’m not interested in upper blepharoplasty yet, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to stop using eyelid tapes. The heaviness of my eyelids have been affecting my vision, since my bifocal glasses haven’t been useful because of the weight of my eyelids. I heard that dysport takes effect quicker than Botox, and if anyone is reading my comment, I would be grateful for your insight, experience, and suggestions. SSAB 😚🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    Here I am almost in tears due to this. I've had one previous botox, it was beautiful and I was so happy. There were a couple little things, like one brow pulled up a bit but one with a vertical scar didn't, but that was fine. I had a twitch in my right eye, was weird but fine. Well, there I went as happy as could be going for the second treatment.....I mentioned the previous issues, just as a comment to the doc, and now I have a completely not moving right eyebrow and eyelid that goes over my lashes. I look like a monster. My area has just lifted restrictions and now I can't go out for the whole summer. My eye literally hurts and I feel like I need an eye patch. I refuse to go back for a 'tweak' as I suspect it'll just make it worse.
    I followed all the instructions- didn't touch it, didn't lie down, no exercise, no alcohol. My eyebrow does not move AT ALL, while the other one bounces around like crazy.
    This wasn't cheap ($450 Can.) and he is a qualified doctor with a ton of certificates.
    Don't do it, just grow your bangs/fringe and play up another part of your face!

I ve had ptosis twice for 3 months in one eye and large lumps at all injections sites for days and injections didn't work at all. so it is important to find someone who has experience and like Dr Gavin says stick with a doctor that you trust and gets to know your face well and an account of past failures and successes of your injections.

    It happened to me right when I did the injection first time in my life. And I selected the doctor carefully on Harley Street in London with NHS nursing background who did the same procedure to my friend. And she ruined my face for three months. Hate her still cause it caused a permanent wrinkle on my eyelid.

      NEVER EVER let a nurse inject you, i always go to a doctor now, i know too many people who have learnt the hard way. Luckily i didnt have anything too horrific, aside from just looking weird for over a year of my life and rarely leaving the house. Nurses, in my experience tend to want to do a lot more and often overfill and create weird proportions.

    Dr.Chan, I was born with ptosis in my left eye. I have been researching ways to lift my eyelid but I am scared that botox will cause my eye to droop even more. I do not want botox for my forehead- just around my eye to possibly help lift. What should I do? is it even worth the risk? thank you.

That being said people assume plastic surgeons are the best at fillers/botox and that's just not true. There experience, technique, and training in aesthetics is what matters. I always do my research no matter who it is. I have been getting botox and filler for years.

    • @viccosmeticinstitute
      @viccosmeticinstitute  4 года назад +1

      depends on the reason for the droopy eyelid. If it is excess Botox in the forehead or frontalis muscle, then you could try a bit of botox just under the brow to try to negate the drop. If it is Botox from the frown injections that has leaked into one eyelid, then there is no extra Botox that can fix that.

    Oh no... I had my first treatment today and the doctor told me not to exercise but that’s it. I showered after getting home... rubbed the area and laid down. ☹️... he didn’t tell me that I shouldn’t do those things and I’m so dumb... I watched these videos after I made the mistakes. I wish my doctor was like you and would have given me this information. Does rubbing the area automatically mean that my eyelid will droop?

It's not very noticeable indoors but outdoors it's visible and I'm self conscious of it. Will filler help me with that? How dangerous is it to put filler in your nose to correct that issue? Could you cover maybe botox procedures for spasm during and after Bell's Palsy.
    Apparently, The sudden reconnection of the affected nerve cells causes rhythmic convulsions, muscle spasms, muscle cramps, or muscle twitching. The exaggerated muscular movements are a positive sign that the muscle function is striving to get back to normal.
    So, why botox?
