I hear ya. The one I thought would put a screeching halt to filler follies was everyone believing filler replacement was needed because fillers get absorbed into the body. Turns out, the fillers are not leaving per se, they're migrating. Dermotologist did a video showing MRI'S with run away filler deposits in women's faces.
@@viccosmeticinstitute I constantly think of your video when I hear about fillers. I like botox, but fillers scare me. Thank you for taking the time to do those MRIs. Very informative and helpful.
Last year, I had Botox to help lift my hooded eyelids. Sadly, it made my eyelids worse. I spent the past year using eyelid tapes, and recently I heard about PDO thread lifts. I booked an appointment for thread lifts today, but the practitioner told me that it wasn’t a good option. Instead, I was given dysport injections directly above my eyebrows, injections in the outer corners of my eyes, and instead of forehead injections, I was given the injections close to my hairline and between my eyebrows. I have a follow up appointment in two weeks, and I’m praying that I will achieve the eyelid lift I have been hoping to achieve. I’m not interested in upper blepharoplasty yet, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to stop using eyelid tapes. The heaviness of my eyelids have been affecting my vision, since my bifocal glasses haven’t been useful because of the weight of my eyelids. I heard that dysport takes effect quicker than Botox, and if anyone is reading my comment, I would be grateful for your insight, experience, and suggestions. SSAB 😚🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Here I am almost in tears due to this. I've had one previous botox, it was beautiful and I was so happy. There were a couple little things, like one brow pulled up a bit but one with a vertical scar didn't, but that was fine. I had a twitch in my right eye, was weird but fine. Well, there I went as happy as could be going for the second treatment.....I mentioned the previous issues, just as a comment to the doc, and now I have a completely not moving right eyebrow and eyelid that goes over my lashes. I look like a monster. My area has just lifted restrictions and now I can't go out for the whole summer. My eye literally hurts and I feel like I need an eye patch. I refuse to go back for a 'tweak' as I suspect it'll just make it worse. I followed all the instructions- didn't touch it, didn't lie down, no exercise, no alcohol. My eyebrow does not move AT ALL, while the other one bounces around like crazy. This wasn't cheap ($450 Can.) and he is a qualified doctor with a ton of certificates. Don't do it, just grow your bangs/fringe and play up another part of your face!
@@reeshs9296 Did it go away already. They said it will ware off after 3 months, I got a droopy eye, after BOTAX , about 3 weeks ago and still the same, sometimes it gets swollen also, after I sleep or when I read a lot. Just wanted to note for those thinking about injections that many people in Canada are certified to give botox but not necessarily good at it. I ve had ptosis twice for 3 months in one eye and large lumps at all injections sites for days and injections didn't work at all. so it is important to find someone who has experience and like Dr Gavin says stick with a doctor that you trust and gets to know your face well and an account of past failures and successes of your injections.
Yes I am from Canada and my lady seriously messed up my face at 26 I’m horrified. Never go to a nurse. I look like a different person and its been 6 months.
Mine isn't just drooping eyelid- the entire brow doesn't move AT ALL, and yes not one word that it may happen, and thinking about it, I told him that after the first treatment that brow felt like it was twitching downwards, that's how I knew when the treatment wore off. I shall move to a third world country where how one looks is the least of people's worries! And the $450 per treatment would support a whole village in Africa for quite some time.
Yes I got eyelid ptosis from an injector with too much eagerness! It was awful ! I had to get special eye drops to keep my eyelid elevated for 5 months!
The drops are called Iopotine they are prescription only BUT simple to request from a doctor that understands that they help to open the eye, use them sparingly.
I have a lazy eye I was born with. Now I’m contemplating if Botox is a bad idea for frown injections incase the Botox effects it more or a future surgery
Same. I've been researching this forever and it's so hard to find info on. Im scared to get anything done above my eyes- but I want a brow lift to see if that helps with my droopy eyelid. So frustrating.
My doctor said due to sleep on side way it caused my face side different from others(1side no volume) , even after my Dr did the Botox it’s still the same. She told me upfront it might not work, I was unhappy with the result and she said only way to do surgery or threadlift
I am a young guy but my eyes look tired because I don't have good undereye suport, and my lower eyelids are dropy. What is the best the best proceder procedure to do: fillers, implants or a canthoplasty?
Hi. the advice to reduce number of injections/avoid tail injections seems to contradict your previous videos (for example, How to have frown and forehead anti-wrinkle injections without looking like Mr Spock!) where you said that such technique will result in a false impression of eyebrow elevation and looking like Spock. So what is your current view on that?
Thank you so much! I went in for forehead wrinkles AND brow lift and came out a bit hooded. 1) is there anything we can do not to lift the brows back up? 2) I've been told in the past you can't do forehead anti wrinkle and a brow lift at the same time. What are your thoughts on this is that accurate?
How deep is the procerus suppose to be injected? I had it done, and they stuck the needle halfway in, but I heard it's only supposed to be a superficial injection? They stuck it halfway in at the medial corrugator too...isn't that one suppose to be a deeper injection?
Thank you so much for this excellent video. I deeply appreciate you going over how to take different treatment options to reduce this problem. Im going to address this with my doctor. I would love if you might speak about patients that have superior nerve reflexes ( 2x that of the average human in testing) and if that might change any of the best options. As well as patients with EDS- hypermoble- elersdanlo syndrome ( I may have spelled that wrong) in which the skin is more elastic. Any info for EDS patients dermatology wise would be very interesting to learn about for all varieties of the condition if you have any knowledge. Thank you! Looking forward to watching more now
Dysport gave me a droopy eye, had this done nearly 19 days ago, she stated she injected more in the right eye than the left now my right eye “the good one is hooded and my right eye is higher but hooded. I look like a Klingande! I can’t move my left brow! I haven’t wore makeup since I had this done. I’m concerned , it looks like loose skin around the top and my daughter told me I look tired. Wtf?! So concerned I may need to go back or spend more money to fix this!
I'm scared to go back in case they make it worse. Also have one brow not moving at all and other moving freely, and raised. Never again $450 to stay hidden for 3 months....
You mention that the diffusion span is soley based off of units and not the dilution with saline? Can you elaborate that? An office that uses a 1/1 ratio vs a 1/3 ratio per unit - when injectioning the medical corrugator with even say 2 units would be 0.02cc vs 0.06cc per site, three times the volume of solution won’t increase diffusion rate?
Dr. Gavin.. I ve been told that Ive have botox 5 times and have become resistant to it. so changing to dysport may help. Do you think this is true? thanks again for the helpful channel.
It happened to me right when I did the injection first time in my life. And I selected the doctor carefully on Harley Street in London with NHS nursing background who did the same procedure to my friend. And she ruined my face for three months. Hate her still cause it caused a permanent wrinkle on my eyelid.
NEVER EVER let a nurse inject you, i always go to a doctor now, i know too many people who have learnt the hard way. Luckily i didnt have anything too horrific, aside from just looking weird for over a year of my life and rarely leaving the house. Nurses, in my experience tend to want to do a lot more and often overfill and create weird proportions.
That was just done to me and it’s horrible. Never happened to me before. Horrible spa experience. She messed me up and they don’t care. Begged me to remove my experience from their website but not willing to help me make it through these three months that an eye drop will temporarily lift your eyelid.
Dr.Chan, I was born with ptosis in my left eye. I have been researching ways to lift my eyelid but I am scared that botox will cause my eye to droop even more. I do not want botox for my forehead- just around my eye to possibly help lift. What should I do? is it even worth the risk? thank you.
I feel so uncomfortable doing in the US now because all the ones that does it are nurses or someone how got some kind of license !!!!!! I want a doctor to do it to get piece of mind !
been an RN for 11 years and hands down would pick nurse to start an IV or place medicine in me with a needle. You'd be surprised at our needed knowledge and skill set. Repetition creates skilled muscle memory along with knowledge but if more initials behind someones name helps you feel comfortable...
Nurses have a license and multiple certifications in various specialties. Physician or RN, it would serve you better to interview according to experience and word of mouth.
The nurses are supposed to be under the supervision of a dr and I wouldn't (no offense) go to anyone less knowledgeable than a nurse practitioner. That being said people assume plastic surgeons are the best at fillers/botox and that's just not true. There experience, technique, and training in aesthetics is what matters. I always do my research no matter who it is. I have been getting botox and filler for years.
Going on 6 months. Although, I had a spider bite on my eye lid right after my cervical dystonia treatment of Botox injection. It might have been a dual reaction but it this point I’m now looking at treatments to open my eye because it’s causing diminished sight from the lid hanging lower.
Hi Great video ! Question tho You say to inject the corrugator superficially but then don’t u risk accidentally injecting into the frontalis and causing a heavy brow? Thank u :)
Can I get mine fixed, the last injector was HORRIBLE =(. I now have droop because she placed in a bad area. Can that injection about the eye maybe 2 units fix this problem? What about the tail of my eyebrow too? I wish I was there I'd have you fix it
depends on the reason for the droopy eyelid. If it is excess Botox in the forehead or frontalis muscle, then you could try a bit of botox just under the brow to try to negate the drop. If it is Botox from the frown injections that has leaked into one eyelid, then there is no extra Botox that can fix that.
Oh no... I had my first treatment today and the doctor told me not to exercise but that’s it. I showered after getting home... rubbed the area and laid down. ☹️... he didn’t tell me that I shouldn’t do those things and I’m so dumb... I watched these videos after I made the mistakes. I wish my doctor was like you and would have given me this information. Does rubbing the area automatically mean that my eyelid will droop?
Hi Dr ; I had 3 times ptosis on the left eye first and second time lasted for 3 weeks ; but 3 times lasted for 3 month and that was with same dr ; even after first time he tried to minimised the doses ; and now I stoped doing Botox ; I’m so worried now to have a eye closed for ever ; so what do you advise me to do dr thx
But is very hard to get an apportionment with Dr Chan .I went to your clinic few times in Melbourne and I had a another Dr who did my fillers and now i still have the fillers encapsulated in my eyelids muscles .
Iam a little confused in your other video you said you should inject above the eyes and about 2 injections below the eye brow to compensate for spock effect and droppy eyebrows
This droopy eye lid effect is from the top of the eye lid but I had more of an outer corner droop where the outer corner of the eye wouldn’t lift up with a smile and actually almost looked like a frown. So obvious in pictures and very upsetting. Could that be from the crows feet injections?
Can you please help me with a question before I get filler. I have a dent in the tip nose where the cartilage meets. I've had this the last 5 or so years. It's happened as I've aged. I'm 37. It's not very noticeable indoors but outdoors it's visible and I'm self conscious of it. Will filler help me with that? How dangerous is it to put filler in your nose to correct that issue? The doctor I've looked into going is a very prominent surgeon in the state where I live.
What is the best way to talk to a plastic surgeon to figure out if he/she has the slams experience as you have? I feel that every time they are too busy to discuss the details
When I had my first treatment I was so excited that it lifted my droopy eyelids, now after the second one I have ONE eyelid that comes down over my lashes and covers almost half of my Iris. Don't do it.
Question Doctor...I had an upper blepharoplasty done 3 weeks ago because of my hooded eyelids. I haven't had Botox since and it's been a year since my last injections to treat my elevens...What do you recommend going forward to treat my frown lines between my eyes when those angry wrinkles return? I don't want to mess up my bletharoplasty results... I appreciate any feedback⚘
I really truly thank you so much for your honest I thought that it would just be anywhere from a week to two weeks but my eye is really trooping down and I didn't realize that it might be anywhere from two weeks to 24 months or when the medicine wears off that that's when the I will get back to normal I will never in my life get a Botox again but I thank you for your truthfulness and your honesty and I'm praying that I don't have to be looking with at upei for the next 3 to 4 months but it is what it is we have to wait till the medicine wears off thank you so much I appreciate your support
How do you choose a good practitioner? I mean, I doubt they’re all being honest about whether or not they inject poorly and cause a lot of droopy eyelids
So its been 6 months and my eyes never returned to normal, do you think I still will recover? I’m so young and I look like a completely different person from before my injections.
this is not going to be the botox after 6 months. You might want to look at other causes of the problem, and also check your before photo for a comparison.
actually, the forehead loses a lot of volume - of the skin, muscle, bone and fat. If you need any convincing, go and push on the forehead of a baby and see how soft and full it is.
@@viccosmeticinstitute So what can we do for the loss of the muscle and bone? Also if we lose it there we are losing it all over out face so again what can we do to keep it from causing us to look so different?

Hi Doc, great vid! My practitioner only does 3 injections on me like you have mentioned in your video. I don’t have any frown lines by this method which is good but I still have some movement in the tail of the corrugater muscle which I don’t mind but I was wondering if the tails were to be injected superficially would this cause my brows to appear slightly higher or would it make no difference? Many thanks
Asians who have ptosis and use their eyebrow and forehead muscles to keep their eyes open are very prone to post-Botox ptosis even if Botox does not travel down to the eye.
I had Botox on my forehead and now have a droopy right eye. Twice i've been back for injections under the brow to try and lift the lid but it hasn't worked yet. I've been hiding I the house now for 3 weeks.
It does. Im 26 and look 30 since getting injections since i was 22 and the last ones permanently fucked my face. Most docs all tell me it aint botox but it is. Only some will admit it but not many. The companies pay google to keep that shit hidden and hard to find.
Anne Margaret Morrall wow, glad you havent experienced any negative side effects after all those years, it made me mental for almost 7 months from my negative reaction to dysport. I probably will never be the same thanks to the discoloration and bruising but I’m thankful I am feeling much better.
Not worth getting it done..i did and one eye was smaller then the other..but coming more normal now..wouldn.t get it done again..prefer a few frown lines then having one eye bigger then the other..
Will my eyelid really go back to normal after the botox wears off? I went back and she adjusted and put in botox by the eyebrow to correct but I don't see an improvement, should I go in for more?
Hello: I have question: 2 times I injected Botox in my forehead and I don’t know my blood pressure has changes up and down for two to three days ( uncontrolled), why it happens? , I have concerns ( worry ) about it.
Could you cover maybe botox procedures for spasm during and after Bell's Palsy. Apparently, The sudden reconnection of the affected nerve cells causes rhythmic convulsions, muscle spasms, muscle cramps, or muscle twitching. The exaggerated muscular movements are a positive sign that the muscle function is striving to get back to normal. So, why botox?

I hear ya. The one I thought would put a screeching halt to filler follies was everyone believing filler replacement was needed because fillers get absorbed into the body. Turns out, the fillers are not leaving per se, they're migrating. Dermotologist did a video showing MRI'S with run away filler deposits in women's faces.
yes... we are the ones who did the MRIs and found filler lasts for longer than the 6 to 18 months they are believed to last for generally.

I don't get the theory behind no laying down. If we are standing, it should b more likely slide down to the eyelid... Isn't it?

Just wanted to note for those thinking about injections that many people in Canada are certified to give botox but not necessarily good at it. I ve had ptosis twice for 3 months in one eye and large lumps at all injections sites for days and injections didn't work at all. so it is important to find someone who has experience and like Dr Gavin says stick with a doctor that you trust and gets to know your face well and an account of past failures and successes of your injections.
Yes I am from Canada and my lady seriously messed up my face at 26 I’m horrified. Never go to a nurse. I look like a different person and its been 6 months.
Can you do a review on plasma fibroblast technique for droopy eyelids?
what is that? and is it drooping due to age or disease?
Yes please! A review on plasma fibroblast for droopy eyelids
I want to come to your cabinet to do all my wrinkles 🙏I am very happy with your detailed explanation 👍☀️
Many people care very much how they look in third world countries.

Yes I got eyelid ptosis from an injector with too much eagerness! It was awful ! I had to get special eye drops to keep my eyelid elevated for 5 months!
5 months?!?! How were the drops? Did it burn?
Did it work? And what is it called? I too have droopy eyes from an overzealous Botox technician
The drops are called Iopotine they are prescription only BUT simple to request from a doctor that understands that they help to open the eye, use them sparingly.
@@stephiesal no they don't burn

Love your honesty how genuine and lovely you are ...God bless you Dr x
Hi. the advice to reduce number of injections/avoid tail injections seems to contradict your previous videos (for example, How to have frown and forehead anti-wrinkle injections without looking like Mr Spock!) where you said that such technique will result in a false impression of eyebrow elevation and looking like Spock.
Same thing here 😑

How do you fix it.
It has to wear off. Need to let the therapist now it happened and they need to alter the injection site.

It has more to do with dose than dilution I believe but both are factors
Good job explaining everything
Dr.
What should I do? is it even worth the risk? thank you.
I don't think Botox will help you but could make it worse. Ptosis is best treated surgically in most cases
Happy Happy your back really enjoy your content I just wish you would open here in Gold Coast Qld
Tigerblade Sushi seal to each their own that’s just me. Thanks for sharing ur opinion
Please dr help me. They maked me dropped eyes. How they can do this good now? I walk like that 2 weeks i don t want any more
Going on 6 months. Although, I had a spider bite on my eye lid right after my cervical dystonia treatment of Botox injection. It might have been a dual reaction but it this point I’m now looking at treatments to open my eye because it’s causing diminished sight from the lid hanging lower.
so doctor you are so well informative thank you to let us know !
Hi
Great video !
Question tho
You say to inject the corrugator superficially but then don’t u risk accidentally injecting into the frontalis and causing a heavy brow?
Thank u :)
Just returned to say, would practising frequent small movements/squinting etc help the botox to disperse more quickly from these sad eyelids of mine??
No answer.
Don't worry. It doesn't mean that it will happen definitely. Risk is still very low and main factor is how the doctor injects it anyway.
Victorian Cosmetic Institute Thank you... so there is still some hope. I’m grateful for your reply… I feel a little better. From Chicago... 💖

Is there any way to h
get rid of wrinkled eye lids?
Iam a little confused in your other video you said you should inject above the eyes and about 2 injections below the eye brow to compensate for spock effect and droppy eyebrows
This droopy eye lid effect is from the top of the eye lid but I had more of an outer corner droop where the outer corner of the eye wouldn’t lift up with a smile and actually almost looked like a frown. So obvious in pictures and very upsetting. Could that be from the crows feet injections?
Did u get better?
Can you please help me with a question before I get filler. I have a dent in the tip nose where the cartilage meets. I've had this the last 5 or so years. It's happened as I've aged. I'm 37. It's not very noticeable indoors but outdoors it's visible and I'm self conscious of it. Will filler help me with that? How dangerous is it to put filler in your nose to correct that issue? The doctor I've looked into going is a very prominent surgeon in the state where I live.
That's why I hate having Botox because of the hooded eyes after, and the fact I can't move my eyebrows higher
What is the best way to talk to a plastic surgeon to figure out if he/she has the slams experience as you have? I feel that every time they are too busy to discuss the details
Hi. THank you for all this info. Is this as great a risk if you're getting botox to help with hooded eyelids, as it is when getting it for anti-frown?

I’ve had this happen both times I got forehead Botox, despite emphatic assurances that it would not happen. My eyelid has never properly recovered…
Very informative video!
You have talked about how the forehead loses volume but it feels like there isn't much volume to be lost on the forehead.
actually, the forehead loses a lot of volume - of the skin, muscle, bone and fat. If you need any convincing, go and push on the forehead of a baby and see how soft and full it is.
@@viccosmeticinstitute So what can we do for the loss of the muscle and bone? Also if we lose it there we are losing it all over out face so again what can we do to keep it from causing us to look so different?

I don’t have any frown lines by this method which is good but I still have some movement in the tail of the corrugater muscle which I don’t mind but I was wondering if the tails were to be injected superficially would this cause my brows to appear slightly higher or would it make no difference? Asians who have ptosis and use their eyebrow and forehead muscles to keep their eyes open are very prone to post-Botox ptosis even if Botox does not travel down to the eye.

From what I understand , long term botox weakens the facial muscles and causes sagging of the skin if you use or over an extended period of time.
It does. Im 26 and look 30 since getting injections since i was 22 and the last ones permanently fucked my face. Most docs all tell me it aint botox but it is. Only some will admit it but not many. The companies pay google to keep that shit hidden and hard to find.
I've had botox for 25 years. I'm 58 now and, I look 45 most people tell me. Too much of anything is bad, but, i do sprinkles of botox , no sagging.
Dr. can you discuss How Long effects of Botox lasts? I had Droopy Eyelid on my Left Eye from botched Botox injections for my migraines. The Droop on my left eye lasted over One Year. Five years later my left eye is Still Not Symmetrical to my right eye like before. I think the Botox effected muscles around my Left eye.
