Emily, I too hate those fake flowers on the cactus. After a lot of various experiments in attempting to remove the plastic flower, I found that using my hair dryer on the hottest setting works wonderfully to melt the glue and the flower will pop right off. Just be careful not to get your dryer too close as it will also melt the plastic flower. And resist the temptation to pull the flower before the glue is melted enough that it won’t damage your cactus. Good luck!

I love that you told the Altman grower that we hate those fake flowers. And those cactus are usually the best plants. I also picked you the same cacti with yellow fake flower. Happy birthday!! Enjoy your new haul. 🪴🌵

I love your new plants. My favorite was that cactus that looks like a pincushion. I’ve never seen that before. So cute I’m curious to see how that grows ❤️

The Home Depot’s around here in Southern California have been amazing as far as great finds and more collectors cactus and succulents. August and September are the best months too because they are usually at their biggest and healthiest. I’ve gotten at heart a dozen Euphorbia Obesa, Mountain Aloe, Spiral Aloe, Aloe Hercules and butterfly agave, tarantula aloes to name some of what I’ve found this season so far.

That’s awesome!! I have been looking for the obesa at big box stores and no luck.

Enjoyed this so much! Love your selection, especially those cactus! Wow, some of them were large for the size pot they came in. I went to my HD last week & it’s exciting to see them “beginning” to get succulents & cactus in. Your location seems to be a little ahead of mine (GA) as far as quantity but I’m sure they’ll catch up eventually. (In the meantime, Ive got another project going on with painting my living room. Trying to get these kind of things done by March when I start getting busy with the outdoor projects.😊)

Emily, good to know about the “ fake “ flowers on the cacti being from #Homedepot. I don’t like it either. You found a very nice variety of cacti and succulents. Makes me want to go shopping 😂

To much organic substrate for cacti and succulent in my opinion. Nice video BTW

Those fake flowers are an abomination! Not only due the hot glue they use scar the plant most of the time, but instead of labeling the plant and educating people on the names of cactus and succulents? The pots will just say fake decorative flower or whatever it says which is just as infuriating to me.
