    If you want to check out The Science Of: Batman's Deadly Sleep Routine: ruclips.net/video/awGzePIN16I/видео.html
    Thanks for watching everyone! 😍
    Also numbers given in later part of the video are apparently just causalities from those who were hit. The accuracy for hits (not causalities) would be instead be 0.5% and 1%. Thank you to those who messaged me, reminding me to point that out!

    In conjunction with the Battlefront 2's campaign (not to be confused with Battlefront 2 EA), I maintain the headcanon that stormtrooper quality takes a nosedive after the Battle of Yavin because of how many veteran troopers died aboard the DS1. With multiple worlds subsequently declaring open rebellion afterwards, Palpatine gets nervous and enacts mass conscription to help fill the ranks to compensate. Simply put, all the guys on Endor are just greenhorns by that point and were likely given at most a month's worth of training before being given an E11 and a set of armor.

    You forgot to move the decimal point on your accuracy calculation, 1 in 100 is 1% accuracy, not 0.01%.
    But you also underestimated the storm troopers. 11 targets in 97 shots is about 1 in 9, or just over 11%, you stated that their accuracy was 1 in 11, just under 9%.

    4:20 that's not bad shooting, that's suppressive fire. The point of suppressive fire isn't to hit the target, but to intimidate them in staying in cover. They had to keep the prisoners moving, and prevent Luke from reaching them. I don't even think they were "missing on purpose" there, they were just making the very valid tactical choice of pinning a target down while moving prisoners out.

    I've seen some of the more recent works basically make excuses for why a Stormtrooper can't hit.
    In Jedi Fallen Order, for example, it's because of bad rations.
    In The Mandalorian, it's because of faulty equipment (the rest of the time, they're hitting a spot that would be more fatal if it weren't for a little thing called Beskar).
    And if course, we have Luke's comment on the helmets.

    Counter argument. Rex, one of the best, if not the best clone out there, says he can't see out of a stormtrooper helmet and actually hits something when he takes it off, then I'm going to go with they just can't see what there trying to hit. As for the ammo expenditure per hostile, it was calculated that only about 10% of soldiers actually try to hit the target. Now, this was after WWII, so I don't know about today, but I'd say we haven't changed much.

    • @marcussinclaire4890
      @marcussinclaire4890 4 месяца назад +1

      It's said that the helmets are connected to the aiming of their guns. And the reason Luke can't see out of the one he puts on is its only for the trooper he took it from.
      I believe it's from books before Disney took over.

      Ah crap I'm an idiot. Poured everything into the editing on this one and relied on the articles' numbers. 4:43 Something needs to be clarified. The only reason stormtroopers appear to be terrible in Disney productions is because of Dave Filoni. Source books, novels and even DICE's Battlefront 2 campaign all say that stormtroopers are good troops, with Bf2 saying that they had a 77% accuracy rate.
    Dave Filoni continually ignores the lore and the fans let him get away with it and praise his mediocre shows. Perhaps the worst offender that has received virtually no criticism is the Bad Batch, which has utterly ruined Disney's up until now relatively decent lore for the early Imperial era (which was mostly EU copy-paste). Not only are non-clone stormtroopers shown and said to be poor, but they are appearing only a year after the Empire formed. The whole thing is utter nonsense. Stormtroopers are supposed to be an elite branch of the Imperial military, if the Empire needs large numbers of poorly trained conscripts for an unimportant battle, they'd call the actual army like in Solo. Keeping the program a secret is also impossible if there are so many stormtroopers. In reality, that show and *all* Filoni productions should be considered a lesser tier of canon.
