I'm on the North side of greater Houston in Conroe and have been told the opposite- that the water tables are too high and that there is too much sand and too much clay for a basement. One local builder even said that we don't have basements because Texas historically hasn't had basements so no one would want one now 😂 We're saving money to build our house and you can guarantee we want a basement!

With the heat that Texas has, it's funny when a basement can be the coolest place in the house and Texas homes don't have basements.

@texas.edge.inspect thanks for confirming the BS. I know our water table is around 75 ft due to our well so I think we will be good.
