Can play practically any instrument including horns. Was Bruno's music director since the beginning until the end of 2021. He is now Katy Perry's music director for her Las Vegas residency and is back to his role as Associate Music Director, American Idol (Katy is also a judge) which is primarily filmed in LA. Phred and his wife have two young children so is no doubt more than happy to give up life on the road. Katy also has a young child and I suspect she flies home every night and Phred probably hitches a ride.
There is a video performance of Al Green singing his song 'Simply Beautiful'. It's just him playing acoustic guitar. There may be someone playing bass guitar in the background.
