He's on The Black Mountain riding the bridleway that runs at 10 o'clock from Glyntawe. Don't confuse the area with The Black Mountains by Hay on Wye (note the 'S', mountain, not mountains) They do like to keep there locations secret but I've ridden most of their Welsh ones 👍
Any chance we could get Owen to do a epic ride taken in gravel, towpath, double track and single track on the Kelly's Theos R30 aluminium as this is the most affordable to most of us normal minions. And answer some of the fundamental information we all like to know when considering buying an E bike. What the bike is like to pedal above the 25kmph, how far you can get on one 8.25 wh battery, and what modes he used predominantly using ecco or trail. Thanks 👍🏻
Oh my God, not another 12,999.00 EUR eBike, are you kidding me? Some bike manufacturers seem to have lost their grip on reality. You have to be crazy to spend so much money on technology that will be outdated in a year's time.
Agree. Glad there are incremental improvements in energy density, but I’m still loving my 2019 alloy levo! in general, the battery & motor tech isn’t different on $6k bikes
@@JensLurman Wrong! There is a difference between an expensive bike and an economical bike. Even an expensive bike can be economical and sensible - this bike is just expensive, so this video is pure advertising for an overpriced bike pretending to be a review - it doesn't look good on GCN. Meanwhile that happens too often on GCN.
Ive got a full xtr Santacruz Superlight from 2002 in mint condition. I just put a cyc photon on it and i have 250-750w 110nm that weighs 20kgs. Proper bike ❤😊
That's the trouble with using composites and battery tech to reduce weight, its bloody expensive. I'd rather have a drag free full fat motor for the occasions of riding over the limiter, weight is subjective in an emtb and to ex moto riders, nothing to be concerned with.
Ehy bycicles company takes so much to update a bike model like santacruz ebike & yeti, i want to change my ebike every year, but i had to do it by differents brands turbo levo then santacruz bullit then a yeti 160e, but yeti is with the same bike model like 5 years ago
I’m sorry but when emtb brands just keep talking about weight it makes me wonder what gimmicks they pulled to get the numbers and how average the rest of the bike must be. Because the dark secret only people who actually ride emtbs know is this: 5-10 lbs doesn’t matter when you have a full power motor. What is more important is geo, linkage and shock tuning, and having heavy duty enough components to handle the extra speed and weight and gnarliness that bike is gonna get fed. Give me a bike that weighs a few extra pounds but has 220s, a 38 fork, 35 rims and heavy duty casing tires, and a well designed linkage with unique to that bike shock tuning over something that happens to weigh a few pounds less any day.
The range of Theos bikes including the F100 all use a variation of Kellys Think Link. A Virtual Pivot style linkage which is then adapted specifically for e-bikes to allow supple yet well supported suspension action. The F100 is definitely designed as a trail bike which is why it’s fitted with the Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.4/2.8 setup opposed to the Eddy Current on the F70/F90 & the 825wh battery certainly isn’t cutting corners to get the weight down - that’s the point of this bike. It has everything you need
Not to bag on it to hard but ..... range extender aren't the answer there almost a bodge. Calm down I said almost🙂. The future hold better solutions but, may not be backwards compatible.
in my experience, EMTB technology is still so new that it's best to have local support, i.e. buy from a local dealer who are part of a network backed up by a national importer/distributor. It looks like Kellys are some way off achieving that in the UK - it seems there is only one dealer, who is also the importer.
I did som googling. It aeema they are sold in 4 places. If its not farnaeay then its ok. Its shimano system and the batery seems same platform as on other Kellys emtbs so they should be well equipped for the diagnostic, soft uodatong and all that
Kellys operates a dealer direct model throughout Europe. Because of the challenges with currency, shipping and cost, it’s not possible to do that in the UK. We offer National coverage and support in the UK including in person delivery & have everything you’d need diagnostics and spares wise.
Do people actually buy bikes at this price, I brought the Orbea rise H30 and that was 4k which was hard to justify And yea it’s outdated the next day, but will say it’s been a great bike .
Extender is a good option when the battery is older and starts to lose capacity, so you do not get stuck on the way home... That is just reality for those who do not get handed over new bikes every few months to make a review. 😅
My diy ebike has 888wh battery and only 23kg. Built it four or more years ago for 1300 euro with 120nm of torque. Prices are crazy these days, a decent off-road motorcycle would be cheaper which I can't understand.
The issue is that’s the perception and not the reality. Many bike brands operate on a 20% margin. Obviously the big brands make more on run of the mill aluminium bikes
On roadbikes I can imagine. Here? Not a chance. Full carbon ebike full suspention frame. New gen battery with some custom developement. Ep801. Di2 electronic XT. Carbon RaceFace wheelset. Carbon cocpit, even the seatpost is KS carbon version.
I have a friend that has had two issues with the Kelley’s composite frame. One cracked seat tube, frame replaced and then less than 6 rides with the new frame snaps the frame above the axle hole on the rear triangle
I had this frame and can confirm. My frame did cracked, but after 3 months waiting for new frame Kellys returned the money. I must say that I ride very hard so for normal riding like in the briliant video like this one it should be ok.
First batch had issues apperently. Friend of mine has F70 bought in january, works great. I bought Alluminium version of this bike but I'm quite envy as this F-series looks rad. Btw it seems this is different material frame then F70/F90.
I bought the Cube Stereo Race for £3100 with 150 front 140 back with carbon frame and a 750 watt hour battery. Just today I’ve ridden 62 miles and climbed 4,500 feet and still had 4% battery left. What more could you want. 😊😊😊
So..... I like the look of this and headed to Kelly's official web !! What an absolute joke. Only a single UK dealer under the name Balfa or something?? And not able to even access that link. Why review a bike that's not even available to us in the UK FFS
Agree with prev comment. Utter nonsense, An £11,000 bike that weighs 20kg! Big deal but it not really your ‘everymans’ bike. My 3k Giant e stance weighs only a couple of kilos more. Love your down-to-earth stuff but really dislike these overly priced options. Its a thumbs down from me
🤔What do you think of the new Kellys Theos F100?
Let us know in the comments below!
I'm half way through my second Kelly's EMTB vlog and I already think I'm going to get one, the 4K one
Some data would be nice. Distance, elevation, battery left… what’s the point in telling us how good it is without telling us the important stuff?
100% Just clickbait otherwise!
Love Kellys bikes
SL ebikes dont make sense if you can have 20kg fullfat with huge battery like this. But the price is steep.
The price is steep but sl bikes are not cheaper.
Well. Tbh for top ebike It's not so off
Yes definitely love those range test videos 👌

I’d be interested to see how far you can get on a single charge.
My F90 with their 725wh battery can do 55 miles when used enthusiastically
@@Jamie-c4y Not nearly enough for me. I need over double that without a range extender for my next upgrade.
To be fair the range is good
Any one know what the battery cells used are called ?
They’re BMZ Batteries custom made for Kellys
@@Jamie-c4y No info on which cells they use
That information isn’t publicly available sadly but the Kellys 825Wh battery weighs less than the Bosch 750Wh
All this talk about range and not a single figure given.
Keep your eyes peeled, big ride incoming to see what I can get out of it 😉

sweet bike, but for me water bottle cage on frame is a must, I like to ride with no backpacks
Bottle cage mount is in top tube/seat tube corner.
Yeap, as always.... "At that price they can keep it!"
Prices of these top tech bikes are insane. However still better then simple roadbike
How much?
looked it up £11,499.00 in the UK
10 000€
Try doing the west highland way, that'll test range👍🤘
Great shout, done it on a normal bike but an Eeb 🤔 the hike-a-bike around the loch though would be a killer

Yes, run it until dead 3 times in Eco, trail & Boost.
Its too bad you can't get these in XL. Id definitely be interested but being 6'6 a large just won't work for me.

Wow great. F90 looks superb! Wish I have it also one day
