Wonderful discussion, thanks for uploading! This professor explores his ideas so eloquently: a pleasure to listen to. That's true. Political solutions work, (and make such a difference with regards to preservation of a language), but i think so long as the people believe in Afrikaans, and have enthusiasm for it, it will live on. I come to it as second language but I see its potential. Even if it's not used in formal institutions anymore, i still think the youth are working towards recreating and reclaiming it as their own, and expanding Afrikaans identity to encompass themselves. Some may not like Jack Parow or Die Antwoord, but they really are pioneers doing something for the language.
Mr Catman Google on change.org "Grant White South Africans European Citizenship". And google "The South African Family Relief Project". They are having a difficult time right now.
Chris van dijk to be fair the Dutch politician Martin Bosma did say something about the plight of Afrikaners in the Dutch Parliament. Look up "Martin Bosma and South Africa" on Google. Also Gerolf Annemans spoke to Steve Hofmeyer- you can look that up on you tube. It was about farm murders. A lady from the British party UKIP also spoke to the EU about farm murders, land grabs and Affirmative Action laws in South Africa. Also on you tube "Janice Atkinson South African Conference" with Corne Mulder from the Freedom Front. As time passes in South Africa, the Europeans will eventually care. They are also feeling like strangers in their own land due to terror.
