Happy New Year to you and everyone at the farm. Been unbelievably cold where you are cant imagine working in those temps. Great to see you back and looking forward to seeing you all in 2022. Best wishes from the UK
Jan have you ever considered using heat traced tape on the rails for the garage doors to keep them from freezing? I'm sure it would be a lot more cost effective than running that heater several times a year.
Wouldn't be even close to capable of providing enough heat to keep ice off the door. The amount of moisture in the air and -40 aireans ice buildup is incredibly fast. He has the right solution already.
So glad you are back, I was worried about you. Hope you too had a great Christmas and New Year. Today was our one warm day(you must have sent it down to Erie Pa-thanks). Hi Maxime-great to meet you. Jan is a great guy and you should have a great time working with him. Great video Jan, again glad you are back on.
Happy New Year Jan, I’m so glad to see you back looking good in this new year! Nice to meet the new farmhand Maxime or Max if that’s okay 👍! You and everyone please stay safe and keep warm!!!
I guess we can say that we are very lucky in Eastern Ontario re no really cold temps yet and hardly any snow the ground. A big Welcome to Maxime! I have a client (I'm a real estate agent) who is also from Ukraine...nicest guy in the world...always respectfull, polite and very considerate. All the best to you and your family for 2022!
Glad you are back, hope you and your family had a good Christmas and New Year. It must be a real balancing act keeping the barns at temperature this weather for sure. This time next week we will be working in short sleeves. Got to love a Saskatchewan winter. One day you are driving with frozen shocks and square tires and the next day you have your window open.
Nice to see Jan again , I was wondering how things were, but fully remember the difficulties of keeping a large dairy herd going over what other people call holidays! Just trying to get everyone some time off and still get the basics done along with reacting to emergencies is a challenge. Although much further north than Jan I'm thankful that his warm day is about as cold as it gets here. The grass in the field across from my house is up round my ankles although I see some sheep have gone on to graze it down , this week.
Hi Jan, great to see you back, I wish you and your family a happy New Year and hope that you have adequate rain, sunshine as required and your cows continue to produce high quality milk with a good fat content.
Glad to see you back once again! Nothing like farming in freezing temps… used to do it so i know what your up against… zip up the coats and get er done!! Well done!!!
glad to have you back, its been a while, i have relative that live in Sudbury Ontario we havent been up there in 5 years a nice place to visit, hope you had a great Christmas a good new year
That cow behind you when you were getting ready to close th he video is so cute white face with 2 black eyes. Missed you you were gone awhile I hope to see more of you now!!!!!!!!
One thing I’ve always wondered about is why you scrape the alleys with a skidsteer, here in Sweden we have automatic scrapers that go back and forth all the time wich makes the alleys a lot cleaner and you dont have to scrape all the time
Your video producing skills have steadily improved. Great camera angles, always in frame and in focus, seamless editing. The musical montages are well done. The crystal blue skies and the white snow at the silage pit looks like Antarctica.
Glad you got yout big center door in, been darn cold since before Christmas -- so a Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and employees
just wondering do you plan on working that farm your life after your fathers time to take life a lot easier . hope so you look like you are happy at your job there
Nice that you got that big door installed. It would be a pain to work with that tarp in cold temperatures when there is enough work already. Happy New Year.
14:20 🔥🔥 Sure you could MacGyver something to reduce icing on the doors. Spray foam on the metal or rockwool/foamboard strips stuck with construction adhesive. I know I know..time..money.
Glad to see a new video. Can only imagine having to work in those temps. No snow days in farming. Happy New Year to everyone.
Don't know how you keep your smile on with that cold weather.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
... Cheers...
Love your videos and your healthy cows. I wonder what the average temperatures are inside your barns during this cold weather.
Have fun watching Yellowstone
Hands down one of the best RUclipsrs out there; and we're loving that we're neighbors too, eh :)!!!
Always so nice to view your channel. You and your family are such examples of hard work with a great attitude (and no gripping!).
Great to see you back, Jan! Glad the holidays were good for you!
Happy New Year to you all ❤️
Happy New Year to you and everyone at the farm. Been unbelievably cold where you are cant imagine working in those temps. Great to see you back and looking forward to seeing you all in 2022. Best wishes from the UK
It’s sure has been cold up here I live in sask up by Borden it’s a small town across the river west of langham.
BOSS MAN, LIKE YOUR DAD
Great awesome video Jan ,
Good # maintain temperature inside the barn at around 25 C #
I still think that heat tracing wire could keep the north door ice free, but it's free advice and worth every penny.

Happy new year. Waiting here on a sask sticker. Any day now.🤓
Welcome to Canada Max, best wishes in 2022.
It is 12 degrees Fahrenheit here in Northwestern Ohio. That would be -11.11 Celsius. I guess it’s cold here and there. Keep warm! Love your videos!
One thing I’ve always wondered about is why you scrape the alleys with a skidsteer, here in Sweden we have automatic scrapers that go back and forth all the time wich makes the alleys a lot cleaner and you dont have to scrape all the time
well . you wanna PAY for it, I'm sure they might try it
That door was a really nice Christmas Present. Must have been your clean nice living. I wouldn't expect the door finishing if you had been naughty.
Your video producing skills have steadily improved. Great camera angles, always in frame and in focus, seamless editing.
The musical montages are well done. The crystal blue skies and the white snow at the silage pit looks like Antarctica.
Pea silage was used in our area many years ago. Is this crop just used for silage or as a cash crop.
Glad you got yout big center door in, been darn cold since before Christmas -- so a Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and employees
