    All I can say for everyone who collects pokemon. Play the game! Cards being cheap is honestly the greatest thing to happen to the pokemon Tcg community cards being more accessible = more players can play the game.

    I played duel links for a while after not playing since I was a kid. It was pretty cool. Then master duel came out and I got a taste of how the real game works. I played for a few month before I was just straight up sick of the long ass turns and basically trying to prevent your opponent from even playing with negates.
    Pokemon on the other hand, I enjoyed for the most part ever since I got my first pokemon card as a kid. My only problem (well its my problem not the game problem) is format rotations. I make a deck I'm proud of and does pretty well, then it's rotated out then I gotta start over. I was never one to play meta decks unless what I wanted to play happened to be meta, which is rare ofc lol. So it takes me a long time to find something interesting I want to play. But the game has always been fun to me, especially the prerelease tournaments.
    Hearing collectors complaining about rare cards being too easy to find is hilarious. Yeah the value drops, but thats not the point. It makes it easier to collect, easier for players to find the cards they need. Collect them or play with them ffs.

    This is just anecdotal but I've also noticed a severe downtrend in yugioh recently. Soooo many people are quitting and selling their collections currently. Staples are too expensive, "rare" cards aren't rare anymore because of the overabundance of different prints and people just don't seem to have much fun playing the game anymore. I've also stopped playing locals and just collect a little bit. It's acutally the first time in like 10+ years where I thinking about quitting entirely.

    In my opinion, this is what makes "Altered TCG" so compelling. For a lot of reasons, it breaks the common mold of trading card games. The additional digital cards and ability to print more copies on demand is extremely compelling and helps with costs significantly.

    Unpopular opinion: modern pokemon making pulls easier should be normalized in other card games.
    Reasons: 1 prevent people from gambling and inflated the price of desired cards.
    2 tcg is VERY expensive, we should be able to almost complete a set with 1 booster box.
    3 the hobby is very toxic already, we need to root out the people who are only in it for the money. People shouldnt be expected to make profit from each set. If the set is not profitable, it shouldnt mean it's a failure.
    TCG should be purely for enjoyment, not profit. Man children has ruined the hobby.

    • @DrChickenz
      @DrChickenz  7 месяцев назад +1

      Completely agree, only point however is when it gets to the stage of a set being so bad stores lose money for just buying it (aka yugioh 2023), everyone loses, ass stores stop selling those card games, due to constant lose, players/collectors lose cheap ways to get singles from stores that crack cases, inturn making everyone lose! I think pokemon have hit it perfectly with there illustration rares being good for collectors and the regular full arts being for players, and now with yugioh following suit with there rarity collection having multiple rarities if every card, makes it so everyone's happy, which is crazy because you should just collect what you love, but aye such as the way of tcgs and there cycles

  • @Broly4President2024

    Higher pull rates in Pokemon equals more fun for kids and if you can keep the kids entertained in your product for a longer period of time you stand to have a better longevity. Out with the old in with the new. People who purchased strictly for value so they can flip singles I feel are the only ones angered by the higher pull rates. I know I will be getting some chase cards from the newer sets for my personal collection as long as people keep selling them at bargain prices.

    Thankfully that original YuGiOh story/TCG section kind of ended back in the day, what remains today is the accepted ashes of a once fun/playable game...
    PoKeMoN was never fun/playable.. Thought that one was infantile and unrelated to the playstyle of the universe too, better for solely collecting... and unfortunately the last set I liked was Evolutions... So i guess my time there is pretty nill neow...
    *Sigh* Tragic thing with MetaZoo.. I can no longer thing of a TCG that uses physical artwork vs. mostly if not solely digital, not to mention that classic card design compared to the fad of full arts these days...
    Aside from just lightly stepping into some fun indie games like Chronicles of Arcane the whole TCG-Obsession and it being the forefront of my hobbies is pretty much done... for better or worse... The excessive hustle-culture, scalping, and constant 'value' talk really strayed the hobby from its Artistic roots.. Such a shame...
