I've gor myself a 9,9' #2 zeph UL, and I'm so looking forward to a little bit more spring😁 Combined it with an FWDD reel. Happy ma with my longest and lightest rod, ever
Do you think this 9’9 would be good for brown trout reservoir fishing ( traditional) and if so would it be best in the 4 or 5 weight configuration. Thanks
Have you tried the Demon range? I know it's lower in the range but the 10ft #7 is the best Stillwater /reservoir trout rod I've ever fished, and I've owned a few Hardy rods as well as an Orvis and a Loop.
I have the zenith 9ft 4wt...one of the finest rods ever made...i use it for lake fishing casting big weighted wooly buggers easy out to 70ft...id love to try the updated model
Thanks for great video! I have the Zephrus 4# 8´6" and really love the rod, but wanted more length for euro nymphing because now I have to carry separate 10´nymphing rod. When I saw the new Zephrus 9´9" I was sold. I´m just about to buy it, but cannot decide between 3# or 4#. I have heard that 3# has a lot of power for landing also bigger fish, but can you tell me more about differences if you have tried the 3 weight? I thought 9´9" 4 weight would be perfect new all rounder for modern nymphing, dries and swinging pair of wets in the ponds and lakes, but can you do the same with the 3 weight, is there a remarkable difference in casting distance and power? How about sensitivity? Thanks for help
Thanks for info. How about casting distance between 3# and 4# are these as powerful rods but the main difference is just sensitivity? I also want to be able to cast some distance with couple of nymphs in lakes and bigger rivers where euro nymphing techniques does not work.
Iam thinking about buying the Hardy zephrus #4 9ft.. For the dutch windy days, and more.. 'all round'.. rod for my kind of fishing, or possibly the 8.6 although that's a bit short I think 🤔... Iam in the market for a new #4 all round fly rod... Orvis Recon 2020... or the new sage sonic ... 🤔
just bought a hardy's Richard walker 9 foot 7/8w fly rod loads of fly's new line ..........then lock down got extended #fedup ;-( oh well cant wait to hit the lakes or river soon hopefully

Nice Jon! 👍
I just came up on this same setup! I’m stoked
The Zephrus is my favorite rod. The 8'8" 3 weight is a special rod.
That it is! 😄
Man I was screaming at you the fish were rising throw on that dry 😂😂 thanks for the review!

Hi Derek, yes, they are excellent value for money... I have a couple of 7# for Bonefishing and they have performed brilliantly..

Which would be better. The 8.6 or the 9ft zephrus?
I would go with the 9’ as it will give you more flexibility... I have the 9’4# and love it...
@@AardvarkMcLeodFlyFishing tnx 👌
@@AardvarkMcLeodFlyFishing for the 8.6 would recommend a half size heavier line like say a SA mpx... En what line you use for your 9 ft?
Do you use a featherweight or a LRH in this video ? Is a featherweight to small for this rod ?
