As a Mapleshade fan, I can still really appreciate and adore this perspective on Appledusk. While I'm not a fan of anyone's actions in the story, I think Appledusk gets way too much stab for what he actually deserves. He made bad decisions, yes. But everyone did in this story. You did so well in showing his full rounded character in only a minute, and this is beautiful work
I personally think his death was punishment enough and he should have gone to starclan. The kits already are missing one parent and having their father with them would really make me personally feel a bit better and it would be nice to see an au where he is in starclan and helps mend a friendship with maple shade and the kits and slowly she becomes a better cat.
Last time I checked, when Mapleshade showed him the kits for the first time, he was loving to them, and that was the last time he ever saw them. I felt more bad for the,” cheater” then Mapleshade since I feel like the only one who asks,” what if Mapleshade was the side chick the whole time and she didn’t know it?” Since I felt I was shoved into the middle of a story. Appledusk died protecting Reedshine, who Mapleshade originally wanted to kill, that’s kinda sad to me . Seeing Appledusk with his kits with Mapleshade made me remember the first time he meet them was the last time he ever saw them alive, and that’s not depressing when you think about it with the context that he seemed happy to meet them, actually saving them from drowning that time unaware they’d drown and couldn’t be saved.

Honestly i feel like it'd be even worse of Appledusk if Mapleshade was the side chick, that means he'd have been cheating on Reedshine (who I don't think did anything wrong from what I remember) and making Mapleshade an unknowing accomplice in his cheating. Either why it was pretty shitty of him to cheat on whoever without either one knowing they were being cheated on. Doesn't make him a monster of course just a dick. I was surprised Reedshine stayed with him honestly.
This is gorgeous!! And honestly I think appledusk is hated by the fandom too much. He cheated and said he made a mistake. He is upset and horrified that his kits died. Ik he got reed pregnant too but like cmon man he didnt deserve to die! People say maple should have been in starclan while apple should have been in the Df. It's so horrible, the fact that some people think it's okay to murder, but when someone cheats they deserve to go to literal hell. It's so upsetting to me
Yeah, and it isn’t even explicitly stated that he cheats. He dismisses Reed multiple times when she tries to get close with him, never showing affection until after he and maple broke up. Sooo.. also mapleshade was so obsessed w him that if he left her she probably would’ve gone psycho so what was he supposed to do?
AppleDusk, honestly he did a big oof by cheating. Kinda foxhearted- BUT when it really comes down to it, he died trying to protect ReedShine. He made a honest mistake, and tried his hardest to fix what he got wrong. He's a wonderful character, and the fact you were able to cover that in one minute is AMAZING! The animation, and the expressions are WONDERFUL. And just to point this out for comparison: Myler gave MapleShade her chance for redemption with him, but she ran off to get her 'revenge'.

First of all the video is 👌👌*chef's kiss* But I will stand by that Mapleshade was her own undoing from start to finish. People forget that the entire book is written from her biased and delusional perspective. -She was naive and believed her clan would accept the half-clan kits despite Appledusks worries. -She allowed her clan to believe that the father was a beloved clanmate and the leader's son when the actual father is the one who killed this clanmate. This led to a violent rage when the leader found out they were not his grandkits. Because of course. -She had to be out of Thunderclan by sunrise and in her panic decides that the best course of action is making her young kits cross a raging river in the middle of a flood. -She refuses to see her own part in any of this when Appledusk rightfully blames her for the death of their kits. (Its more than evidenced that he cared about them idk why people are saying he didn't) -she goes on a rampage and doesn't even try to kill Appledusk, she tries to kill his pregnant mate. On the topic of Appledusk cheating, I see him as in a similar situation to Crowfeather. He can't put his riverclan life on hold for his thunderclan mate. It is too suspicious for him to not take a mate in Riverclan. Appledusk is very excited when mapleshade tells him that she's expecting, but he also voices how worried he is about being discovered. I'll admit this "reason" for his cheating is more reading into things, but I think even if he is a cheating sleezeball, mapleshade got everything she brought on herself.

Two things: 1.finally an epoch meme that isn’t Coleen(but it probably released before that,so yeah) 2. I never read mapleshade’s full edition but I know enough from RUclips,sneak peeks,etc to know that Appledusk didn’t deserve to die. Just exiled to die to something less…gruesome. Appledust fucked up by cheating and ignoring the warrior code(but the part he ignored happens a lot,even the killing part). He was a great father to Mapleshade’s kits once and probably would’ve been a great father to his other litter too. Appledusk most likely didn't cheat. If he cheated, why were there no romantic interactions between him and Reedshine until after he broke up with Mapleshade. Because you swy, "Reedshine was pregnant," she was very newly pregnant. She wasn't even showing at the end of the book. Mapleshade only knew Reedshine was expecting because she heard it mentioned by Appledusk. It sorta makes sense for Appledusk to know he got Reedshine pregnant. You'd know if you got someone pregnant, it's just common sense. There's really no reason for Appledusk to go to the dark forest. And if Mapleshade didn't kill innocent cats, attempt to kill a newly pregnant she-cat, and nearly kill an apprentice, she'd be in starclan.

Again I do not fully know thanks to not being able to get the book. So I stay with ‘he should have gone to the dark forest’ because of that. And Ashfur went crazy for love from squirrelflight and ended doing crimes against the warrior code. He ended up in starclan. Mapleshade did the same thing but for her kits. She killed for her kits. She ended up in the dark forest.

I hate Appledusk because of what he had done to Poor Maple but I really liked this because it shows how Appledusk regrets what he did and at least give him some..attention.
My theory: appledusk did love mapleshade but River clan was suspicious of him so he learned from a clanmate that reedshine liked him so he originally pretended to love her and became her mate so riverclan wouldn’t be suspicious of mapleshade and him but he ended up falling in love with reedshine and got her pregnant

I wish I could see this earlier. When I was 11, I thought Appledusk was "evil". But now I started to listen to this song and I finally found it. And now I think Appledusk doesn't deserve death. Appledusk fucked up, of course, but I honestly think he gets way more backlash than he deserves. He was awful to Mapleshade and completely disregarded the deaths of his children, which is horrible.... but at the same time, he was a good dad to them when he did meet them. Mapleshade cared about him enough to be willing to risk everything and stay with him even after he accidentally killed one of her Clanmates. Reedshine loved him enough to stick by his side even after learning about Mapleshade. And he was willing to die for Reedshine.
He didn't disregard their deaths, he attempted to save them, and was heartbroken when they died. The kits deaths were purely Mapleshade's fault because SHE took them across a dangerous river even when Appledusk told her that it was dangerous. So of course he would be angry! But he's awful for cheating on her.

If you (not directly at you) got pregnant by some dude from the rival group, would you just say "yes these are the murderer's kits!"? I love this animation it's done so well! Since I see so many apple dusk opinions in the comments I'll hop on the train XD I don't have enough knowledge of apple dusk (I only know of him from Mapleshade's vengeance and his mention in Crookedstar's promise by Mapleshade) so as far as my opinion goes he's a bad mate for leading Mapleshade on like that and father for disowning (basically) the kits he had with her, He was a good Riverclan cat and warrior but I just don't think he had his morals together very well or at the very least his commitment. If he's mentioned in other books where I can learn more about him and his character tell me and I'll look into it but for now he was kinda a crummy guy.
You know before the newish addition to the dark forest I would have never thought that anyone outside of mapleshade and oakstar should have even had the possibility to end up in the dark forest... but after frecklewish... well you know what lets send them all to cat hell haha. Seriously though, cheater who was awful to his partner after the kids just drowned partially to save face, the man who banished kittens in a storm, the medicine cat who agreed with him vs the cat who didn't jump into a raging river for kits she not even related too and was angry she spent so much time raising and loving these kids. I just think if the barrier to get into the dark forest is so low, they all should be in there too.
Honestly man great video. I felt like everyone in Mapleshade's Vengeance except Reedshine, Myler, and Frecklewish were kind of trash, but I mean, Appledusk probably didn't mean for any of this to happen. Like everyone points out, he loved his kits on first sight.
I know this was years ago, but I'm going to say this anyways. Those kits were just as much Appledusk's as they were Mapleshade's. He saw them alive ONCE! The second time he saw them they were DEAD. What I'm saying is; Appledusk did NOT deserve to die. None of the cats Maple killed deserved it.

I don't feel any sympathy for maple shade and more for reedshine and frecklewish, yes she was a huge ass but at the same time her mate one had a side chick, and two literally thrown himself infront of reedshine to protect her and his unborn kits, which was his death. @@unknownuwu8966 oh big time. The events of this book only happened because Starclan squealed. No one in Thunderclan would’ve put the pieces together before Mapleshade spilled the beans herself, and even they were exiled, they would’ve been old enough to make the journey.

I personally think that he misread the dream and the dream was supposed to warn Ravenwing to not do what he did, since the river ended up killing Mapleshade’s kits, aka the three reeds, and it was partly Thunderclan’s fault for that.

I always felt like *Mapleshade* was the victim but that doesn't mean I support, nor excuse her actions. I also really don't like it when someone says that it was Mapleshade's fault that her kits died because yes, going to a river while it's flooded isn't a good idea but saying that it was her fault the kits drowned is like telling a mother that it's her fault her child died from the flu. However, Mapleshade was wrong for resorting to murder 3 cats. They mostly weren't exactly innocent either, but it's still wrong. *Appledusk* was just kinda an ass? He got a she-cat from another Clan pregnant and when she came to RiverClan, he didn't even _try_ to take responsibility for the kits and trouble he also helped make?? I don't know why Mapleshade should take all the blame and he get off scott-free. *Reedshine..* actually is innocent. Whether she knew about Appledusk and Mapleshade, I can't remember. If she knew she didn't really act on it? It's likely she didn't know though. *Ravenwing* is also innocent. He was just interpreting the signs of StarClan, (but I do think he could have intervened when Oakstar was exiling Maple, but that's just my opinion) he didn't deserve to die for doing his job as a medicine cat. *Frecklewish* is a different story. I don't think she's innocent since she watched the kits die and didn't try to help. That is also breaking the code. But, like Ravenwing, didn't deserve to die for it. *Oakstar* (?? I think Oakstar exiled her so quickly bc she lied about the kits’ father being his dead son(birchface) and frecklewish as well since it was her brother(cause she was so happy to know her deceased brothers blood would still be in the clan)

I agree with you for the most part, but except the part about Frecklewish. She was a ThunderClan cat, so she can’t swim. She couldn’t try to save the kits because she probably would’ve died along with them if she had tried. Plus her brother had drowned in the same river not long before, so I can see why she wouldn’t try to save the kits.

@@Revenant_zz She’s emotionally abusive toward her mate. Emotional invalidation is a form of emotional abuse. Mapleshade constantly invalidated his feelings, acting as if they weren’t important and never letting him get the full word in. He rightfully brings up the subject regarding their kits safety, but she continuously ignores the very valid points he’s bringing up. Example one: "What if Thunderclan finds out? What will your clanmates think?" And she brushes him off as if his feelings mean nothing. She tells him that she has everything under control, completely ignoring his concerns regarding his kit's safety and if Thunderclan were to find out their true heritage Example two: "Are you sure Starclan approves of what we're doing?" She manipulates by saying that "we have brought Thunderclan new kits! How could they not approve? I will teach them to be loyal to both Thunderclan and Riverclan." Though her intention here wasn't to be manipulative, it still was. Appledusk is clearly still on edge and nervous about this plan, but she sees him giving him a chance to express his feelings and leaves. Right before those two scenes, she guilt-trips him about the death of Birchface. She knew well enough that his death and Flowerpaws were accidental, and she continuously pressed on the matter when he wasn’t comfortable, and she stopped when he expressed this verbally.
Again later in the book, she Disregarded his feelings when he told her the river wasn’t safe, and instead she brushed off his feelings and warning and changed the subject. She crossed a clearly dangerous river and fully expected her mate to help her after what she did. Later, when she tried to kill Reedshine, she used him as a scapegoat. He tried to save his kits; he really did, and he loved them, but Mapleshade convinced herself that he never loved them and that he purposely let them die, even though he didn’t know they were in the river until after he saved Mapleshade and she told him. And then she tries to kill Reedshine just to seal a claim on Appledusk. LOL go read the book 🤡
i always wanted to know how appledusk and mapleshade met (if it is shown in a different book, i've not read it) and if their relationship was ever a healthy one- mapleshade wasn't ever really a good cat (though it got worse by far), but appledusk didn't do half as much as mapleshade and he gets twice as much hate. i like appledusk's character- he's interesting, and he chose his clanmates over mapleshade. i wouldn't side with him or mapleshade, since they both suck in different ways, but mapleshade is definitely much worse.
If I'm assuming, Maple and Apple met once as allies from RC and TC, since it could be interesting for the Clans to have allies from different Clans, RC and TC both train together and Maplepaw and Applepaw both become friends and then the two Clans both both up and defeat SC and WC for threatening their territory., but after in the next gathering the TC leader breaks off the alliance to the two Clans, so Maple and apple, both apprentices at the time, are forced to be apart because of the code, but Apple makes her promise that she will meet him again.
As much as i feel bad for maple and think shes the innocent One, i dont get why people attack Apple so bad. Yes, he cheated on both of her mates, publicly manipulated maple, which was wrong, but he didnt knew what else to do and he was loyal to his clan. Dumping maple was his only choise ig. Sure, hes selfish, but he has a good side too. He risked his life to save maple and sacrifised himself to save reed. I could say he is innocent too. He def doesn't deserve the dark forest. Nor does maple. Nothing that happened was his fault. Apple was going through thing too. He lost his trust in his clan, almost got exiled, lost his kits, his life was in danger for accidently killing birch.

Honestly, Appledusk should be in the Dark Forest, not because of anything he did to Mapleshade, but for the murder of Birchface. I get that Flowerpaw was an accident (no one forced her to jump into the river), but Appledusk clearly lied about Birchface.

@@_The_Lizard_King I have read the book, multiple times in fact, and unlike those other cats you mentioned, Appledusk showed literally no signs of feeling guilty for killing Birchface, and he wouldn't even admit it was his fault and kept deflecting blame, so even if he was telling the truth, he's still a terrible cat. Also, Frecklewish is canonically in the dark forest (I don't agree with her being there, but it's canon, so...) and she didn't even kill the kits, she just watched them drown. Watching someone die but not doing anything is very different from killing them yourself. Frecklewish was a bad cat, but she wasn't as bad as Appledusk. Honestly, I believe that if there was a purgatory in the Warrior Cats world, Appledusk and Frecklewish should go there, but since there's not, I say that Appledusk should be in the dark forest since Juniperclaw is (for whatever reason). The only arguments I can think of for Appledusk being in StarClan are: 1. He sacrificed himself to save Reedshine (And to that I say, Juniperclaw sacrificed himself to save 2 cats, one of which was also pregnant, and he's still in the dark forest.) 2. So that he can take care of his kits (The only decent argument, but that could apply to any cat with dead kits, really.) I haven't read the power of three yet, so I don't know who Jayfeather killed, but from what little I kmow about him, he doesn't seem like he would kill a cat on purpose and then lie about it. For Graystripe, I'm going to assume you're talking about Whiteclaw, in which case Graystripe clearly felt guilty for killing him. The same can't be said for Appledusk. However, in the less likely case that you were talking about Clawface, who Graystripe also killed by accident, Clawface killed Spottedleaf was going to kill Fireheart. I'm pretty sure he deserved it. I swear, Appledusk stans will attack Mapleshade fans for trying to defend a murderer (even though not all Mapleshade fans say she was in the right, most of us agree that she's evil) and then go on to try to defend a murderer. Ik he got reed pregnant too but like cmon man he didnt deserve to die! People say maple should have been in starclan while apple should have been in the Df. It's so horrible, the fact that some people think it's okay to murder, but when someone cheats they deserve to go to literal hell. It's so upsetting to me
Yeah, and it isn’t even explicitly stated that he cheats. He dismisses Reed multiple times when she tries to get close with him, never showing affection until after he and maple broke up. Sooo.. also mapleshade was so obsessed w him that if he left her she probably would’ve gone psycho so what was he supposed to do?
AppleDusk, honestly he did a big oof by cheating. Kinda foxhearted- BUT when it really comes down to it, he died trying to protect ReedShine. He made a honest mistake, and tried his hardest to fix what he got wrong. He's a wonderful character, and the fact you were able to cover that in one minute is AMAZING! The animation, and the expressions are WONDERFUL. And just to point this out for comparison: Myler gave MapleShade her chance for redemption with him, but she ran off to get her 'revenge'.

But I will stand by that Mapleshade was her own undoing from start to finish. People forget that the entire book is written from her biased and delusional perspective.
-She was naive and believed her clan would accept the half-clan kits despite Appledusks worries.
-She allowed her clan to believe that the father was a beloved clanmate and the leader's son when the actual father is the one who killed this clanmate. This led to a violent rage when the leader found out they were not his grandkits. Because of course.
-She had to be out of Thunderclan by sunrise and in her panic decides that the best course of action is making her young kits cross a raging river in the middle of a flood.
-She refuses to see her own part in any of this when Appledusk rightfully blames her for the death of their kits. (Its more than evidenced that he cared about them idk why people are saying he didn't)
-she goes on a rampage and doesn't even try to kill Appledusk, she tries to kill his pregnant mate.
On the topic of Appledusk cheating, I see him as in a similar situation to Crowfeather. He can't put his riverclan life on hold for his thunderclan mate. It is too suspicious for him to not take a mate in Riverclan. Appledusk is very excited when mapleshade tells him that she's expecting, but he also voices how worried he is about being discovered. I'll admit this "reason" for his cheating is more reading into things, but I think even if he is a cheating sleezeball, mapleshade got everything she brought on herself.

She wanted to kill Appledusk but was blinded by fury when she saw Reedshine. That was a total psycho move.

Two things:

2. I never read mapleshade’s full edition but I know enough from RUclips,sneak peeks,etc to know that Appledusk didn’t deserve to die. Just exiled to die to something less…gruesome. Appledust fucked up by cheating and ignoring the warrior code(but the part he ignored happens a lot,even the killing part). He was a great father to Mapleshade’s kits once and probably would’ve been a great father to his other litter too. I DO think he at least deserves to be in the dark forest,Mapleshade only killed since she went crazy(and seeing how it ended for Ashfur) I think she deserves to be in starclan.

Because you swy, "Reedshine was pregnant," she was very newly pregnant. She wasn't even showing at the end of the book. Mapleshade only knew Reedshine was expecting because she heard it mentioned by Appledusk. It sorta makes sense for Appledusk to know he got Reedshine pregnant. You'd know if you got someone pregnant, it's just common sense.
There's really no reason for Appledusk to go to the dark forest. And if Mapleshade didn't kill innocent cats, attempt to kill a newly pregnant she-cat, and nearly kill an apprentice, she'd be in starclan.

She ended up in the dark forest.

Appledusk accidentally killed Birchface while defending himself. Graystripe did the exact same thing in the second book, if I remember correctly. He doesn't deserve to go to the dark forest as it wasn't intentional.

I wish I could see this earlier. When I was 11, I thought Appledusk was "evil". But now I started to listen to this song and I finally found it. And now I think Appledusk doesn't deserve death. Appledusk fucked up, of course, but I honestly think he gets way more backlash than he deserves. He was awful to Mapleshade and completely disregarded the deaths of his children, which is horrible.... but at the same time, he was a good dad to them when he did meet them. Mapleshade cared about him enough to be willing to risk everything and stay with him even after he accidentally killed one of her Clanmates. Reedshine loved him enough to stick by his side even after learning about Mapleshade. And he was willing to die for Reedshine.
He didn't disregard their deaths, he attempted to save them, and was heartbroken when they died. The kits deaths were purely Mapleshade's fault because SHE took them across a dangerous river even when Appledusk told her that it was dangerous. So of course he would be angry! But he's awful for cheating on her.

I love this animation it's done so well! Since I see so many apple dusk opinions in the comments I'll hop on the train XD I don't have enough knowledge of apple dusk (I only know of him from Mapleshade's vengeance and his mention in Crookedstar's promise by Mapleshade) so as far as my opinion goes he's a bad mate for leading Mapleshade on like that and father for disowning (basically) the kits he had with her, He was a good Riverclan cat and warrior but I just don't think he had his morals together very well or at the very least his commitment. If he's mentioned in other books where I can learn more about him and his character tell me and I'll look into it but for now he was kinda a crummy guy.
You know before the newish addition to the dark forest I would have never thought that anyone outside of mapleshade and oakstar should have even had the possibility to end up in the dark forest... but after frecklewish... well you know what lets send them all to cat hell haha.
Seriously though, cheater who was awful to his partner after the kids just drowned partially to save face, the man who banished kittens in a storm, the medicine cat who agreed with him vs the cat who didn't jump into a raging river for kits she not even related too and was angry she spent so much time raising and loving these kids. I just think if the barrier to get into the dark forest is so low, they all should be in there too.

Then there's applddusk who just wanted to start a new life, he made huge mistakes but he isn't a monster, Mapleshade was possessive, then frecklewish who mapleshade disrespected her brothers name, honestly I'm so happy this pmv dosent make Mapleshade seem like the victim and the art is just stunning in every way

I personally think that he misread the dream and the dream was supposed to warn Ravenwing to not do what he did, since the river ended up killing Mapleshade’s kits, aka the three reeds, and it was partly Thunderclan’s fault for that.

I always felt like *Mapleshade* was the victim but that doesn't mean I support, nor excuse her actions. I also really don't like it when someone says that it was Mapleshade's fault that her kits died because yes, going to a river while it's flooded isn't a good idea but saying that it was her fault the kits drowned is like telling a mother that it's her fault her child died from the flu. However, Mapleshade was wrong for resorting to murder 3 cats. They mostly weren't exactly innocent either, but it's still wrong.
*Appledusk* was just kinda an ass? He got a she-cat from another Clan pregnant and when she came to RiverClan, he didn't even _try_ to take responsibility for the kits and trouble he also helped make?? I don't know why Mapleshade should take all the blame and he get off scott-free.
*Reedshine..* actually is innocent. Whether she knew about Appledusk and Mapleshade, I can't remember. If she knew she didn't really act on it? It's likely she didn't know though.
*Ravenwing* is also innocent. He was just interpreting the signs of StarClan, (but I do think he could have intervened when Oakstar was exiling Maple, but that's just my opinion) he didn't deserve to die for doing his job as a medicine cat.
*Frecklewish* is a different story. I don't think she's innocent since she watched the kits die and didn't try to help. That is also breaking the code. But, like Ravenwing, didn't deserve to die for it.
*Oakstar* (?? Who even remembers the name of that guy) exiled a literal queen and kits out of hate. Yes, they were breaking the code but he _also_ broke the code by endangering the kits in the first place.
*Everyone (excluding Reedshine and Ravenwing) sucks to an extent in this situation.*

I agree with you for the most part, but except the part about Frecklewish. She was a ThunderClan cat, so she can’t swim. She couldn’t try to save the kits because she probably would’ve died along with them if she had tried. Plus her brother had drowned in the same river not long before, so I can see why she wouldn’t try to save the kits.

Mapleshade constantly invalidated his feelings, acting as if they weren’t important and never letting him get the full word in. He rightfully brings up the subject regarding their kits safety, but she continuously ignores the very valid points he’s bringing up.
Example one: "What if Thunderclan finds out? What will your clanmates think?" And she brushes him off as if his feelings mean nothing. She tells him that she has everything under control, completely ignoring his concerns regarding his kit's safety and if Thunderclan were to find out their true heritage
Example two: "Are you sure Starclan approves of what we're doing?" She manipulates by saying that "we have brought Thunderclan new kits! How could they not approve? I will teach them to be loyal to both Thunderclan and Riverclan." Though her intention here wasn't to be manipulative, it still was. Appledusk is clearly still on edge and nervous about this plan, but she sees him giving him a chance to express his feelings and leaves.
Right before those two scenes, she guilt-trips him about the death of Birchface. She knew well enough that his death and Flowerpaws were accidental, and she continuously pressed on the matter when he wasn’t comfortable, and she stopped when he expressed this verbally.
Again later in the book, she Disregarded his feelings when he told her the river wasn’t safe, and instead she brushed off his feelings and warning and changed the subject. She crossed a clearly dangerous river and fully expected her mate to help her after what she did.
Later, when she tried to kill Reedshine, she used him as a scapegoat. He tried to save his kits; he really did, and he loved them, but Mapleshade convinced herself that he never loved them and that he purposely let them die, even though he didn’t know they were in the river until after he saved Mapleshade and she told him. And then she tries to kill Reedshine just to seal a claim on Appledusk. LOL go read the book 🤡

i always wanted to know how appledusk and mapleshade met (if it is shown in a different book, i've not read it) and if their relationship was ever a healthy one- mapleshade wasn't ever really a good cat (though it got worse by far), but appledusk didn't do half as much as mapleshade and he gets twice as much hate. i like appledusk's character- he's interesting, and he chose his clanmates over mapleshade. i wouldn't side with him or mapleshade, since they both suck in different ways, but mapleshade is definitely much worse.

If I'm assuming, Maple and Apple met once as allies from RC and TC, since it could be interesting for the Clans to have allies from different Clans, RC and TC both train together and Maplepaw and Applepaw both become friends and then the two Clans both both up and defeat SC and WC for threatening their territory., but after in the next gathering the TC leader breaks off the alliance to the two Clans, so Maple and apple, both apprentices at the time, are forced to be apart because of the code, but Apple makes her promise that she will meet him again.

As much as i feel bad for maple and think shes the innocent One, i dont get why people attack Apple so bad. Yes, he cheated on both of her mates, publicly manipulated maple, which was wrong, but he didnt knew what else to do and he was loyal to his clan. Dumping maple was his only choise ig. Sure, hes selfish, but he has a good side too. He risked his life to save maple and sacrifised himself to save reed. I could say he is innocent too. He def doesn't deserve the dark forest. Nor does maple. Nothing that happened was his fault. Apple was going through thing too. He lost his trust in his clan, almost got exiled, lost his kits, his life was in danger for accidently killing birch.

@@_The_Lizard_King I have read the book, multiple times in fact, and unlike those other cats you mentioned, Appledusk showed literally no signs of feeling guilty for killing Birchface, and he wouldn't even admit it was his fault and kept deflecting blame, so even if he was telling the truth, he's still a terrible cat. Also, Frecklewish is canonically in the dark forest (I don't agree with her being there, but it's canon, so...) and she didn't even kill the kits, she just watched them drown. Watching someone die but not doing anything is very different from killing them yourself. Frecklewish was a bad cat, but she wasn't as bad as Appledusk. Honestly, I believe that if there was a purgatory in the Warrior Cats world, Appledusk and Frecklewish should go there, but since there's not, I say that Appledusk should be in the dark forest since Juniperclaw is (for whatever reason). The only arguments I can think of for Appledusk being in StarClan are:
1. He sacrificed himself to save Reedshine (And to that I say, Juniperclaw sacrificed himself to save 2 cats, one of which was also pregnant, and he's still in the dark forest.)
2. So that he can take care of his kits (The only decent argument, but that could apply to any cat with dead kits, really.)
I haven't read the power of three yet, so I don't know who Jayfeather killed, but from what little I kmow about him, he doesn't seem like he would kill a cat on purpose and then lie about it.
For Graystripe, I'm going to assume you're talking about Whiteclaw, in which case Graystripe clearly felt guilty for killing him. The same can't be said for Appledusk. However, in the less likely case that you were talking about Clawface, who Graystripe also killed by accident, Clawface killed Spottedleaf was going to kill Fireheart. I'm pretty sure he deserved it.
I swear, Appledusk stans will attack Mapleshade fans for trying to defend a murderer (even though not all Mapleshade fans say she was in the right, most of us agree that she's evil) and then go on to try to defend a murderer. Hypocrisy at its finest 💀
