When i hear, see or just know that someone is gunna vomit, escpecially my brothers, i cover my ears because the sound is gross, move far away from them and start shaking. I have been doing that ever since that day my brother was sick in 3 areas of our house.
Plastic cups from fast food places work GREAT for puking in. You wouldn't think so since they are so narrow, but if they are medium or large they should be good enough. They worked wonders for me during my pregnancies
My dad always did big paper bags (like at wholefoods) lined with trash bags so that it could stand up on its own and be thrown out all at once. Of course this relies on a sick child to actually make it into the bag but now that I'm older (and still get sick with concerning frequency) it's a real godsend of a trick
Another pro tip is that if you have the gallon buckets from ice cream save those, those are puke buckets, use them. Also, another thing you can put more than one bed sheet on a bed.Triple triple quadruple.Whatever you need to do put a s*** ton of sheets on the bed.So that way , if something happens , you just pull the sheet off and throw them in a pile, in the morning throw them all in the washer. And another tip ginger is really good for your stomach. Whenever you're sick or you have motion sickness, or whatever if your stomach is upset, ginger is really good for it, and so is mint
I have a chronic gastrointestinal illness, and I know all the ways to get sick, without upturning your whole life. -if you get sick, and start dry heaving, try drinking some soda, like sprite, ginger ale or cola. The liquid can help the intense dry heaving lessen, and the sweetness helps the stomach acid be less intense. -Look into disposable bags, especially in the car for motion sickness. Having a disposable bag can stop the mess, and not have barf all over the car. In a pinch, using 2 dog poop bags one inside of the other, works as well; the second bag is to make sure there isn’t a hole in the first one and to provide extra leak protection. -Have medication ready. Sometimes, medication like Dramamine can help with nausea and vomiting. It’s a motion sickness medicine, but it can help with vomiting. -introduce cold foods first, and encourage sucking on ice. With GI upset and illness, one of the major issues is dehydration. Sucking on ice cubes can help lessen inflammation of the stomach, and allows small amounts of water to quench thirst. Once more solid food is added, try freezing applesauce or getting frozen banana pieces, first. The cool can help with any inflammation or stomach pain, when solids are introduced. -sports drinks are a good options. They act similar soda, by lessening the taste of bile, but also can help hydrate. -if possible, try to buy unscented sprays or sanitizers. If you can find unscented products, then the smells won’t be associated with the stomach flu or vomiting. The smell of Lysol to this day makes me nauseous, because the only time I smelled it was when we would get sick. We had other products for cleaning that wasn’t that spray, and the smell alone can make me sick, all on its own. -keep a fan, or other air movement device, near the person. I buy folding fans, in the Dollar Tree decor section, and use them to help with nausea. The moving air can cause nausea to get better. -This last one is odd, but works great, for nausea: Alcohol Swabs. I am in and out of hospitals, medical clinics and other health facilities. For nausea, the #1 tip is to open an alcohol swab/wipe and take a few deep breaths, inhaling near the alcohol swab. It’s not 100% fool proof, but it does allow for extra time not throwing up, and allowing a person to get to the bathroom or a better place to get sick.
That’s the same reason I can’t stand the smell of Lysol spray! I got the stomach bug really bad in 4th grade and that’s what my parents used during that time when my sister and I were sick.
Tell me why I vividly remember the first time of a book. My dad made me suck with ice. every time I got sick, which was like every five minutes. Ugh the dreaded stomach bugbi get on at least once a year on tim I got it every month
@@just_sallyok Everyone gets the stomach bug. So, it’s basically like a little virus that can spread around sometimes. And it can cause vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, etc. I’ve had it before. And you have probably had it too! So there. THATS a little explanation.
That’s what my mom and dad did! And it helped me a lot when I had hand foot mouth and also throwing up a lot! Thank u so much I will pray for ur family and children btw can I get pined it’s ok if not.
The best tip I read is to use plastic wash basins and put a puppy pee pad in it. It will reduce the splash back a lot. You can also keep a basin with the pad under the beds incase they get sick at night

That’s a great idea, especially when my middle nephew happens to be ill to his stomach and he starts to throw up 🤮, he will be able to find the vomit bowl and use it instead of throwing up in the floor in his bedroom or the living room.
when i was a kid my whole family got sick, for some reason im the only one that is not sick.. probably because i bite my nails and my immunity system got used to it..
Btw if you have a designated puke bowl maybe you can paint the rim with glow in the dark paint. They will still be able to find it, you don't have to fish out Puky light sticks and it's probably also cheaper in the long run
@@Ur_localBiBbLe really? I wouldn't want to dump liquid like puke into a bag and hope it stays in there ... especially since the bag isn't completely proofed at the top. And then you'd have a reeking trash bin until it's emptied and you can clean the bin. You could mix it with flour to make it less fluid, but then again it'd probably be less hustle to just dump the puke into the toilet. Besides glowsticks are terrible for the environment, the paint is a one on thing and just stays there, which also saves you from running out of glow sticks. Plus it got some other nice uses, once you already own glow paint. For example you can mark furniture corners so you don't bump into them at night or (night) light switched. and a bit of my camping gear also glows ever so slightly at night, finding a flashlight in a big tent is less of a challenge now.
When i got sick my parents always just yelled at me to keep in the throw up so they didnt have to clean it. I like this technique A LOT more for sick kiddos tho!! ❤❤❤
When my kids were grade-school age, I insisted they keep empty 3-pound margarine tubs by their pillows in case of norovirus attacks in the middle of the night. This cut down on the amount of puke on the sheets, even if it didn’t stop my _always_ being the one having to clean it up! Unfortunately, this meant I was also _always_ the parent who got clobbered with the same bug two days later. And people wonder why I turn into Paranoid Penny during norovirus season even though I now have one kid almost grown and one kid almost flown!
Another great tip is leaving possibly just an open garbage bag on the floor with the tablecloth leave about 2 or 3 garbage bags on the floor not closed opened that way if your kid gets really sick they can just open the trash bag and hurl away
Sleep on an air mattress and layer it with several waterproof fitted sheets. When one gets dirty just strip it off. We also do the bowl with the plastic bags layered as well. Great for the middle of the night.
