Allah uses effort as a metric... Nuh AS is an example of this, other prophets with little to no followings are examples of this. Allah on the day of Qiyamah doesnt look at your results, he looks at the effort you put in. An arabic student can try his hardest to learn arabic and Quraan but just wont get it and others can be unsincere and lazy but still get really good results it would be unjust to judge them based on results. Im pretty sure Allah will highlight the effort made by that person who struggled in the path even though his results didnt show.
What they are saying is soo true that’s why it’s one of my major things is marrying someone who is willing to make Hijra, please if you can take heed! SubhanAllah. One of my sisters grew up practicing Quran and Sunnah (raised in the USA) wore niqab and everything. Now she identifies as they/them and is married to a women with kids. May Allah aide and guide us.
From Abubakr: Regarding the debate at the end let's put it like this: If your child does EVERYTHING you or their coach etc asks them to do, but for some reason (could be ANYTHING), they still didn't achieve the result. Would you still praise them for the effort they put in, or is your praise conditional on them achieving the result. Bear in mind the ONLY thing your child can control is their own effort. Let me know in the comments below!!! 👇🏽
Yes I would praise the effort as this would encourage the child not to give up. Alot of poeple give up becuase they don't achieve the results but there could be benefits in the effort. Its not always about the end results but the lesson learnt in failure, perseverance and patience. Those life skills will come handy when they are older. Praising a child for achieve is good as it encourage them to continue to work hard so they can continue to get praised but this can get addictive and child might lie or cheat inorder to continue to get praised as they know they will only get praised if they have an achievement
I think result is irrelevant, effort with taking the correct means(to achieve the best result) should be praised when together, comparison with knowledge and sincerity, sincerity(in refernece to effort) and knowledge (in reference to taking the correct means). 100% effort doing it the wrong way is unpraiseworthy(like sincerity with no knowledge) and 100% taking the correct means but with no effort is unpraiseworthy(having knowledge but not utlising it) , i could explain further but dont have the effort to(pun intended). Result could be one of the ways of measuring the effort and correct means.
@@missa7777SubhanAllah that’s so true. It’s like the school system they don’t reward students for the effort but they reward and pass students on the outcome. So a student with a mental disability who studied for 5+ hours could still fail while a student who puts much less effort and passes. Let’s say somehow the first student passes and makes the same exact score as the second who put much less effort. Are both deserving of the same level of praise?
I'd personally teach them principles like "100 days of action. If you start something = see it to the end" & "don't overthink. start, fall and learn quickly" if the kid tried at this thing 100 days in a row with the actions required to get the outcome and still don't achieve, I'll reward the actions because they obtained the characteristics needed to achieve it. Now we either keep going or we can rightfully dead it and try some else.
The debate at the end.... Its all about effort....Tie the Camel and put trust in Allah.... Even a tied Camel can get stolen or lost. Result of it is in Allahs hand.
I remember hearing about a brother calling into a famous arabi sheikh's show. The caller said that he tried to raise his kids upon the quran snd sunnah. They didn't listen to music, he made sure they prayed their salah on time. One day, the brother discovered his kids were from the devil worshipers, (he said aabid ashaytan). He asked the sheikh how this could happen yet he tried raising the kids upon truth. The sheikh asked him whether he used to make dua for his kids, and the caller said no. The sheikh said that parents should always combine tarbiya and dua together. You can't do tarbiya without dua. So parents, please make.dua for your kids and try to raise them according to the quran and sunnah. Dua is a very important.
I have met single families that have students of knowledge, imams, hufadh etc. I would ask their mothers how they raised their kids. All of them would say that they made Dua and their parents used to make Dua for pious offspring. اللهم بارك فيهم. Make Dua for your offspring. Don't just rely on yourself in teaching them what's right and wrong. You need Allah's aid in every way.
The whole discussion about effort and reward reminded of the Hadith about the Hakim narrated by Amr ibn Al-as. When a judge given a decision having tried his best to decide what was correct and he gets the correct decision he gets two rewards. And when he tried his best and gets wrong he gets only one rewards’ (check the wordings) So once the effort and the result was rewarded and the other only the effort was rewarded but not the result.
Teach them Trust in Allah (for outcome) & taking the necessary means (effort) and being honest with yourself - no delusion. I believe to encourage the kid to understand that the only thing he/she controls is their own actions aka effort - not the outcome. I'd focus more on who the kid is becoming as a person instead of ONLY achievements. They need to learn character, discipline, laser focus, persistence, patience - then apply those in their effort achieve an outcome. and no matter the outcome as long as we know they are genuinely trying their best to BE great - not just obtain great - that's praiseworthy. Allah knows best.
Hijra is so important but I think one thing people forget is the older generation don’t have the knowledge we do now as we are seeing the direct effect however when they intended to come here it was for safety (refuge from war) for jobs (lack of provision) for free education etc. And as they came from a majority Muslim country they didn’t see all these defects that exist in kaffir lands/ they would think they can raise us how they were raised and keep us protected from society which would seem like a small price to pay for life opportunities that simply didn’t exist (still don’t in some) of their countries at the time. So Dawah man here saying “u didn’t do ur best cuz u raised ur kid here” shows a lack of empathy. However, the Muslims that stayed here for generations should have probably considered hijrah sooner and known about its importance so it’s good he’s strongly highlighting it.
Assalamu'aliakum I don't think Imran intended to sound harsh but just help people realise the reality of the situation of what can occur or has already happened... and he doesn't go by the name Dawah man anymore, dropped it a very long time ago.
To reward the effort is also very important. Example, you get more reward reading the Quran whilst struggling than with someone who can read fluently. Refer to Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4937
Allāh does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."[1]
Nah Dawah Man is confuseddd on the effort argument. I used to do so well in high school and I put no effort but was praised it’s definitely not about the outcome. Now that I’m older and can see I’m shit in some things and better in others it’s about the abilities God gave me and to improve them as much as possible and be humble enough to know I’m not “number 1” but I can try as hard as possible to get to “8th place or above”
and bro.. on your example of one year to memorise quran... your kid isnt and wont be a robot not all kids are the same I think you fail to understand this. Everyone operates at different levels of intelligence, emotions, actions, reaction etc etc etc. you 4 sitting in the room arent the same! if you all had one year to learn something put in the same time and effort I gurantee you theyd still be a difference in your results
